Day 28 Chaka Khan Yvette Marie Stevens (born March 23, 1953), better known by her stage name Chaka Khan (/ˈʃɑːkə ˈkɑːn/ SHAH-kə KAHN), is an American singer. Her career has spanned more than five decades, beginning in the 1970s as the lead vocalist of the funk band Rufus. Known as the "Queen of Funk", Khan was the first R&B artist to have a crossover hit featuring a rapper, with "I Feel for You" in 1984. Day 27 Chuck Berry Charles Edward Anderson Berry (October 18, 1926 – March 18, 2017) was an American singer, songwriter and guitarist who pioneered rock and roll. Nicknamed the "Father of Rock and Roll", he refined and developed rhythm and blues into the major elements that made rock and roll distinctive with songs such as "Maybellene" (1955), "Roll Over Beethoven" (1956), "Rock and Roll Music" (1957) and "Johnny B. Goode" (1958). Day 25 Henry Thomas Sampson Jr Henry Thomas Sampson Jr. (April 22, 1934 – June 4, 2015) was an American engineer, inventor and film historian who created the gamma-electric cell in 1972 — a device with the main goal of generating auxiliary power from the shielding of a nuclear reactor. On July 6, 1963, he was awarded a patent, with George H. Miley, for a variation of the gamma-electrical cell, a device that produces a high voltage from radiation sources, primarily gamma radiation, with proposed goals of generating auxiliary power from the shielding of a nuclear reactor. Additionally, the patent cites the cell's function as a detector with self-power and construction cost advantages over previous detectors. He appeared as Lando Calrissian in the Star Wars franchise, first in the early 1980s for The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983), and thirty-six years later in The Rise of Skywalker (2019), marking one of the longest intervals between onscreen portrayals of a character by the same actor in American film history. He is also known for his advertisements for Colt 45, a malt liquor, for a five-year period starting in the mid-1980s; he would reprise his spokesperson role in 2016. Williams brushed off criticism—for the subtext of the ad campaign, 'works every time,' and the target audience—of the choice, "I drink, you drink. Hell, if marijuana was legal, I'd appear in a commercial for it." George Washington Carver (c. 1864 – January 5, 1943) was an American agricultural scientist and inventor who promoted alternative crops to cotton and methods to prevent soil depletion. He was one of the most prominent black scientists of the early 20th century. While a professor at Tuskegee Institute, Carver developed techniques to improve types of soils depleted by repeated plantings of cotton. He wanted poor farmers to grow other crops, such as peanuts and sweet potatoes, as a source of their own food and to improve their quality of life. The most popular of his 44 practical bulletins for farmers contained 105 food recipes using peanuts. Day 20 Nance Legins-Costley Nance Legins-Costley (c. 1813–1892), born Nance Legins Cox, an African American, was the first slave legally manumitted (freed) by attorney Abraham Lincoln, in 1841, twenty years before the start of the American Civil War. Nance was an African-American female slave who managed to have her case appealed to the Illinois Supreme Court three times before Lincoln successfully argued for her freedom, using the same Jeffersonian principle. Lincoln later signed into law “… that Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude shall exist…” in the state of Illinois and later in the entire United States and its territories. October 29, 2022 The Creative Multiverse presents: #Drawlloween #Drawlloween2022 Day 29 ( Dungeon and Tonic) Our heroes gather inside the Mad Doctor's Dungeon. Abby and Daniel step forward to announce they have a plan worked out for them to save Halloween. They will devide into multiple teams , with coordinated attacks take out both Ghostface and Vecna. Daniel raises his fist in the air and announces "The time to fight is now, we have been given another chance. This year we will not fail." Before he can finish, from out of the darkness behind him wielding a knife 🔪 steps Ghostface. Putting the knife to the neck of Daniel, the heroes are in shock. Suddenly , Bursting through the wall Ala Cool Aide man is the Kaiju from Brooklyn. With a mighty Chomp the Kaiju eats Ghostface. From the Rubble steps Elise and her lawyer Mel. "That takes care of him" said Elise The crowd erupted into Cheer. Following Elise is her band of Ninja Cats carrying a Create. Mel opens the create. "Who wants drinks" she asked.
