Moon jar, second half of the 18th century, Korea, porcelain
A distinctive type of porcelain from the late Joseon period (1392–1910), the moon jar (Korean: dalhangari)—so called because of its evocative form—was usually made by joining two hemispherical halves. The peach hue of the glaze, unintentionally acquired during firing, adds to the charm of this jar.

Chau! I saw that you were at couture this year - what a way to start travelling again after so long. Did you enjoy it and do you still work in fashion? I don't know if you still use this but your blog is still one of my favorites to visit from time to time!
hi! it's indeed been a very verrrry long time since i've properly perused my tumblr, so i do apologise. i don't know when this was sent, or if you'll ever see the reply but i'm assuming it was a few months ago since it mentions couture (there's a whole bulk of messages and i just picked this one out of interest, so bear with me).
yes, for the first time i was at couture on the perspective of a client and not for buying or viewing, in addition to just some work commitments i had in paris - it was wonderful and an honour.
i've unfortunately stepped away from my role in the industry, and with that have moved away from fashion entirely. i do enjoy it still, but i have little ties to fashion month(s) and viewing collections in a critical light - i purely fashion as it is, without too much thought and it's rekindled my affection for it in a different, non-career light. things changed for me in the last 18 months, personally and career wise where i wanted to pursue something different, but i think i'll always be connected to the industry as long as i'm welcomed in.
thank you for the message - and i hope you continue to enjoy the archival time capsule of what i've created on this blog. i hope i've grown up *a lot* since then!
