Smol buff and Tol lank dynamics!

Piers’ first thought when meeting Milo was basically the fact that this smol boy could absolutely crush him.

Most people get intimidated by Piers at first, but I think seeing Piers’ brotherly care for Marnie really set Milo’s opinion of Piers as something truly positive.

When Piers recieves compliments, it’s usually because of his singing or his stage presence. But Milo’s compliments make him the happiest, since Milo points out the way he cares for Marnie and his pokemon.

They would start hanging out more and having exhibition matches.

Piers is an awkward Zigzagoon, and would totally confess through a small song.

He probably wouldn’t go on stage with it, but would maybe just sit with Milo by the fields and sing it to him privately.

The song would obviously describe Milo, but I feel like Milo would not be so hopeful as to expect himself. So he’d ask who it was about, and hesitantly, Piers would mutter:

“It’s you. It’s... about you.”

Cue two precious boys blushing in the fields, refusing to look at each other.

Then they agree to have a dinner date.

When at some point Piers invites Milo to Spikemuth while holding hands, Marnie, no where to be seen, just bellows, “FINALLY!”

Next time Milo goes there, he brings some flowers for decoration. Piers swooooons.

When Piers gets invited into Turrfield, he lets out his Obstagoon to go help herd the Wooloo.

Piers rests his head on Milo’s. Sorry, I don’t make the rules. He also leans down to kiss Milo’s nose.

Milo likes to bridal carry Piers if he ever says that he’s tired.

Milo likes to run his fingers through Pier’s hair, and just has it flop onto his lap.

Piers is also fiercly protective over Milo, and would make sure no harm befalls the farmer.

Piers sings his songs to Milo first, always gentle and soft. After some songs, the aura around them would always feel romantic.

Heartfelt kisses would ensue, just gentle and sweet. Piers would just wrap his arms around Milo’s waist.

The moment would totally be ruined by Obstagoon leaping onto their laps. Big puppy.

Kabu x Melony

I feel like no matter how much pride Gordie would have in himself, he still knows when to show respect, and where true potential lies beneath. Gordie totally has that genuine respect for the senior gym leader Kabu.

On some of the rare, relaxed discussions with his mother, the topic of gym leaders would come up, and would express this profound respect for the fire gym leader, which would catch Melony’s attention.

Their regions were pretty far from each other, but if this man interested her son so much, Melony wouldn’t mind the trip.

They would properly meet up for a small get-to-know, per Melony’s request, and have a Senior’s Discussion TM.

And they would just click. Everything felt natural to them in each other’s presence, and the blooming likeness to one another was just... instantly mutual.

They would, however, both be traditional, and agree to court one another to test the waters. They would never be the type to completely jump into things unless they were absolutely sure.

Whoever wins the match pays for dinner.

Their dates would circulate around the other gym leaders. So when they see Melony’s arm entwined with Kabu’s, no one is really surprised. Except for Gordie. Gordie doesn’t check on his mom much.

Milo and Nessa were Kabu’s wing man and woman, respectively. Leon and Raihan were already making bets. Bea and Opal would casually discuss it sometimes. Allister doesn’t really care. Piers heard from Marnie, who she heard from Hop and Victor/Gloria [Protagonist], who both heard from Leon.

Gordie would probably be a bit outraged, but if his mom is happy, then why not? Besides, he’d have the coolest (or the hottest, haha badum tshhh—) step-father.

Melony would have that doting, motherly behaviour with her, even if she’s only taking care of Kabu.

Melony likes to nuzzle Kabu’s arm when they walk. Kabu just finds this precious.

When Kabu isn’t taking care of himself correctly, Melony would gently scold him like you would a child. At first, he was rather confused about it, but soon found it adorable that her mother instincts were so strong. It just showed how much she cared.

When Kabu goes to visit Circhester and gets cold, Melony hands him her big floofy jacket. You cannot tell me that her jacket doesn’t just consume Kabu.

The hip, internet couple who share memes to one another.

[Raihan]: lord help me.

Kabu, no matter how far into the relationship, enjoys taking Melony on restaurant dates to get to know her more, or how her day went. Nothing is more important to Kabu than a strong connection with his beloved.

Melony’s rich, and you bet she would spoil Kabu every now and then, although he insists not to.

Although chaste kisses are more Kabu’s style, he doesn’t mind extending them for Melony, who enjoy long, tender smooches~.

Nip Of Frost Bite

Kabu x Melony

Kabu was trying to be the ever romantic Romeo, not allowing Melony to do her usual visits over to Motostoke. Rather, he himself will travel all the way to Circhester to greet his lovely maiden.

Although Melony didn’t mind the trips to Motostoke, she was still overjoyed at the thought of Kabu visiting her instead.

However, when Melony comes to greet her visiting lover, she notices that Kabu is unusually pale. It looked like he tried to hide it, by shifting her attention to a new bouquet of flowers he had arranged himself.

Melony’s carer instincts kicked in ten-fold, and ushered Kabu inside her home where he could warm up.

In there, Kabu would try to refuse Melony’s acts of hospitality, but Melony is stubborn and won’t take no for an answer. Eventually, he gives up trying to fight her, and relents in showing how sick he truly was.

Kabu was never used to the cold, and would never get used to it. Although he had so badly wanted to visit Melony, he knew Circhester’s weather was one big hurdle he’d have to go through.

Melony would insist he lie down on a bed, and would probably bury him in a bunch of blankets if Kabu ever so much as shivered.

Warm tea and soups are a go-to pleasantry for Kabu’s throat, and Melony is extra capable in making delicious ones.

To check Kabu’s temperature, Melony would place her forehead against Kabu’s. It’s a moment of brief sweetness and shared smiles that are cherished by the both of them.

Melony has prepared thermometers and all sorts of medication from when she used to take care of Gordie, and would offer all of them to Kabu.

“Melony, love, it’s just a cold.”

“Nonsense dear, It will help you feel better.”

Every heater is turned on and the room is lit—

If Kabu then becomes too hot, then Melony would get some cold rags or ice for him. Sometimes, she might even let out one of her ice pokemon to stay with Kabu.

Petting of hair and holding hands is a good distraction for Kabu.

Melony would often give him cheek kisses, even if Kabu insists that she doesn’t. He doesn’t want her getting sick either.

Kabu might insist on going back to Motostoke so as to not burden Melony, but she’s not going to let him escape that easily— not until he is completely better, at least.

When his sickness subsides, he thanks Melony with dinner dates and loving kisses. Melony would just giggle and insist it’s nothing.

Kabu adores her caring nature though, and is only one of the hundreds of reasons he falls in love with her over and over again.

New Years, New Romances

MILO:

Milo would have a very shy confession of asking S/O out while watching the New Year Fireworks. It’s very cheesy, but he says that his New Years Resolutions include being able to win S/O’s heart.

At the end of the New Years countdown, S/O can only focus on Milo as he cheekily says: “Let my resolutions begin”, and kisses their hand shyly.

NESSA:

Nessa’s quite the party animal, so it’s odd when S/O sees her unusually quiet, stammering and shifting in posture. She says she’s hoping for something new for 2020.

What S/O didn’t expect, was for Nessa to hold their hands, stammering a rushed, but heartfelt confession as midnight strikes. It makes them smile. What a ‘new’ year indeed.

KABU:

Would hold his S/O’s hand throughout the whole countdown, which S/O thought Kabu was only doing as to not have them fall on their stupid drunk butt.

S/O went sober for five minutes after they feel Kabu’s small kiss upon their cheek. Even the loud cheering of the crowd couldn’t drown out the beating of their own heart.

BEA:

Bea doesn’t even participate in the New Years countdown, but only seemed to be staring right at her S/O, as if she was waiting for something. When the countdown starts...

“Before the next year begins, please allow me to be the one you’ll love as it starts.” When the confession and countdown ends, S/O just melts with joy.

ALLISTER:

A shy boy of nocturnal blood naturally has the most energy at midnight, so it’s no wonder both him and his S/O are staying up late at night.

Loud noises make Allister flinch, so fireworks are a no go. Instead, he confesses to his S/O while stargazing. And as the clock strikes midnight, and his S/O embraces him tightly, Allister can’t help feeling like the luckiest boy in Galar.

OPAL:

Opal’s had many years of her life wasted with potentials of forgotten love and sorrow. So when she had met S/O, she knew they were different.

She’s bold in confessing; years of waiting can do that to a woman. So if her simple confession is accepted at the stroke of midnight, she’s ready for da smooch.

GORDIE:

Gordie is very suave as he confesses on the countdown. He seems so compossed as he holds his S/O’s hands, and tell them that he wants to start the year off with them in his arms.

After the embrace and adrenaline rush though, S/O has to calm him down because he’s screaming externally and wants the ground to swallow him whole.

MELONY:

Interlaces hands with her S/O, as the usually composed woman sways their arms in silence. She starts with a quiet, but heartfelt confession, and she’s scared of the response.

S/O was different from everyone else she had met, and she didn’t want to ruin it. So it brought so much joy to her when her S/O held her in their arms at the stroke of midnight.

PIERS:

Usually spends New Years alongside Marnie and S/O, and no one else. So it’s quite a change in atmosphere when Marnie seems to be no where in sight, and the stage seemed to be lit.

Piers then comes out to perform a song only for his S/O, ending exactly on the countdown. His heart soars, and he lets out the biggest genuine smile that he hasn’t shown in quite a long time as his S/O leaps into his open arms.

RAIHAN:

Is on a stream with his fans as the New Years ends, which is no surprise to S/O. But when S/O noticed Raihan put away his phone, they thought he had gained a fever.

But Raihan lets out the softest confession possible, a complete contrast to his usual energy, and S/O can’t help but accept. Celebratory photos are mandatory though.

LEON:

The boy, the mad lad, the dunce— Leon, is a big puppy. Would invite you to a beautiful large field as the sky is littered with stars. And proceeds to get lost.

After a while of yelling at Leon through the phone, he find his way over to his S/O, and they both let out such dorky laughs about the whole thing. As 2019 starts, for Leon, a new romance blooms in 2020, and he caresses his S/O’s face with much love and care.

HOP:

This boy would constantly lose his courage and words, to the point it’s almost impossible for him to confess. He finds S/O’s beauty so breathtaking, and he doesn’t want S/O to look down on him if they reject him.

At the very very very last second of the New Years countdown, Hop blurts out loudly to his S/O that he loves them, which garnered a few giggles from the surrounding crowd. And Hop could not have sighed louder from live and relief as his S/O giggles back their own proclamation of love.

This is really cute, especially cuz I sing a lot. I’d totally do this.

The Melody Rings

Raihan x S/O

Raihan’s just come back from taking care of a commotion within Hammerlocke, and is completely exhausted. He’s about to call out to his S/O that he’s home, until he hears their voice.

Not in a talking way either, but a beautiful melodic way that Raihan has never really heard clearly before. So play the Pink Panther theme as he sneaks a peek into the living room, holding the cutest sight he’s ever seen.

S/O’s surrounded by his various pokemon on the couch; Flygon on their lap, Duraludon on their left, Gigalith on their right, and Sandaconda on top of the couch behind them.

It doesn’t look very comfortable from Raihan’s persepective, but it seemed to work anyway.

All of his pokemon are snug asleep, and Raihan’s ears are graced with a melody he hopes to hear everyday.

His S/O was singing. Singing so softly and beautifully that it could put Jigglypuff to shame. It explains his dozing pokemon on the sofa, and how they’re also in bliss of S/O’s voice.

They’d pat the pokemon too, in time with their singing, that Raihan can’t help but let out the happiest smile. He doesn’t get to hear S/O sing all too often, they shy away from the meerest of compliments.

But seeing them so fondly singing to the pokemon... it really makes Raihan’s heart soar.

Eventually, he makes his presence known, giving S/O a gentle but knowing smile.

S/O gets extremely flustered, wanting to chuck something at Raihan. But it would cause the pokemon beside them to stir, and they didn’t want to wake them up.

So they just turn an impossible shade of red, avoiding Raihan’s smiling eyes at all costs.

But in the most gentle voice Raihan could have ever spoken in, he just says:

“Let me have a chance to hear that lovely melody again. Please?”

Coupled with a pout and a gentle caress, how can S/O refuse?

A Food-lish Misunderstanding

Piers x S/O

S/O has been scrubbing the grasslands to find one of these annoying little buggers, working tirelessly to find a 50 cent fake fruit reject for one lanky boy.

And all because they had heard of the romantic idea of ‘give an applin to someone, you’ll be together forever’.

hehe.

I guess an apple a day keeps the doctor foreverconjoinedtoyourhipside.

It was silly. S/O and Piers could live happily even without such silly gestures.

But maybe, just maybe... it can finally erase the fear they have in their heart— that fear of separation. As silly as this is, they want to take that chance.

Piers is everything to them, and if a sentient apple can solidify their union, then by all means they’re hunting.

The pride on S/O’s face shines bright, as they hold the pokeball containing a new acquired applin close to their arms. The trek to Spikemuth was fun, giddiness in their heart overcoming the ache of their legs as they entered.

And Piers would be sitting oh the edge of his stage alone, smiling that rare, tired smile the makes S/O return one of their own. He’d grab their hand as they make their way over to him.

“Piers, babe, love of my life. I’ve got something for you.”

That would catch his attention, as S/O rustles around for the correct pokeball. Then, with a big grin, Piers’ S/O would place the Applin gently in his hands.

Now— Applin is shy, tucking away from the new scary face. Piers is also a rather secluded boi. He’s probably heard of Applins, but has never seen one before. And cute legends of love forever together? Not on his daily broadcast.

Sooooo he chuckles, slightly amused. S/O’s heart sinks, thinking that... maybe Piers found this stupid? What if he wasn’t into those sorts of gestur—

“WOAH WOAH WOAH WAIT NO BABE STOP PIERS DON’T TRY TO BITE THAT HOLY ARCEUS THAT IS A LIVING CREATURE—“

Piers tried to eat the goddamned thing. And after realising what it was, he looked horrified.

But the silence settled between them was too much, bursts of uncontrolled laughter escaping his S/O’s mouth. Piers is perplexed.

“Wha- S/O, I thought it was a snack?!”

And his partner just snorts, still laughing.

“Dummy, it’s an Applin! You know? ‘Give it to someone, you’ll be with them forever—‘“

S/O laughter would abruptly stop, and the puzzle in Piers’ head will have finally clicked together perfectly. Smiling, he’d approach the increasingly growing tomato of a(n) S/O.

“Babe, please. Like we need some apple to make that kind of confirmation. I’m already forever yours.”

And despite everything, a gentle kiss would be shared, while an Applin stood with complete trauma.

Stay Close To Me

Piers x Milo

Lemme get this straight— Milo is one big boi. And even if he seems like someone who avoids conflict, this man can handle himself perfectly. If there was anyone causing trouble, he could probably one arm yeet them away from Turrfield.

Piers would still be an overprotective emo stick, and would totally butt in on anyone who dares make any sort of confrontation at Milo.

And it’d be rare, definitely. There’s literally no reason for anyone to be trying their luck fighting against Milo. But maybe Spikemuth isn’t such a friendly place, and Piers’ sense of protection came from that.

Besides, Milo would have the whole of Turrfield fighting for him.

I can literally imagine Piers just looming from behind Milo, just glaring down the perpetrator, no matter human or pokemon.

If Piers wasn’t around during any sort of confrontation, he’d feel extremely guilty. Milo would never blame him, but it doesn’t comfort the lad too much.

Maybe during an exhibition match with Milo and Raihan, things got out of hand and Milo got injured due to the Raihan’s dragon pokemon. Completely accidental, but when Piers heard of it, dragon boy definitely got an earful from the Spikemuth leader.

During that time, Piers may have been too hesitant to leave him. Although they’ve moved past that situation, emo stick probably sends out some of Team Yell to stay with Milo.

Milo does a lot of protecting too though— those muscles ain’t just for lifting some pokemon and hay bales.

If someone was bad mouthing Piers and his capability of being a gym leader, Milo wouldn’t be afraid to approach them with a cold and stern lecture on talking bad about others.

Piers likes to use the significant height difference between them to shield the farmer. He just kinda drapes over him. Milo thinks it’s cute. Piers thinks it’s a primary napping spot. He’s a literal cat.

“Love, what are you doing?”

“Zigzagoon Protection Mechanism.”

If either one of them do get injured, they’d give each other gentle smooches.

Would throw themselves in front of danger to protect the other. Piers would do it more often, especially if a hostile pokemon is both taller and bulkier than both of them combined. Milo’s heart swells with love though, when he sses Piers determined and protective form in front of him.

Milo once tried to throw his hat like in those kung-fu movies and Piers thought it was cute but kinda dumb and then that hat just knocks someone out and Piers just gets whiplash from that and looks at Milo but the farmer is just completely noncholant like excuse me—
