About the Game: Deadly Weapons is about power, gender, desire, trauma, and hope. It is set in an urban fantasy world very similar to our own, but where underneath the surface Demons prowl and Avatars hunt. Players will create these Avatars, girls who one day had a gun arrive in their possession. A gun that cries in their dreams and never leaves their side. A gun which whispers in their ear that they must hunt and kill Demons. Demons are all around the Avatars, existing as classmates, bosses, or even romantic interests. But whether an Avatar fires their gun is up to them.

podcasts have always been a medium i struggle to focus on/enjoy, but every time i listen to a moonshot podcast i immediately fall in love and magically unlock the ability to pay attention. you all put something in the water over there and im so grateful, keep up the good work

I think people need to be more comfortable with illegalism and I’m not kidding. Of course the more legal something is, the safer and easier it is to do, but the more people who disregard the law, the harder it is to enforce. There are plenty of laws on the books that people just ignore and are never or rarely policed.

Becoming more comfortable with little illegal activities makes you more comfortable with bigger more important illegal activities. Additionally, it is crucial to build a wall of silence. Nobody talks everybody walks.

People who give out food without a permit, hold a march without a permit, grow a garden without a permit, are more likely to be people you could turn to to work with on preventing an eviction, or keeping people out of cop hands, or helping your friend Jane get crucial healthcare when it’s not legal in your state.

Communities comfortable with these acts won’t call the cops, and then nobody knows that it’s happening.

People have got to shift from both the idea that lawful = good/ illegal = bad, and that the illegality of something means that’s the end of it, and the only fight left is to make it legal again.

Anyone have recs on a solo TTRPG with some strong Final Fantasy 6 or Chrono Trigger vibes? I've been thinking about both lately and itching to break out a solo tabletop game.

Ok great - gang, I'm really excited to tell you that I am the new host for One Shot! James has made an incredible legacy out of this actual play series, featuring over 160 games across over 500 episodes - and now I'm taking over to bring you even more games with a new cast every month.

If you've heard me speak at all over the last several years, you know that rpgs, this gorgeous art form, has become my entire heart and soul. I think about how these games have changed my life every single day. And now I have the extreme privilege of sharing them with this amazing audience.

The other candidates for this role were not only amazing, but some of my favorite people in this creative space. They are all talented and driven and remarkable, and I can't believe my name was even listen beside them. Not only that, I don't think I've ever been in a competitive place so genuinely supportive? We came out of this lifelong fans of one another.
