me: *sighs* I'm going to have to learn a myriad of Asian languages, aren't I?
my imaginary audience (or MIA for short): Um, not necessarily, you're American, no one's going to assume you can speak anything but English.
me: No, it's not that.
MIA: Oh, are you going to broaden your horizons? Try to better yourself?
me: Nah.
MIA: Then why...? *sigh* You're a weeb, aren't you?
me: I mean, not specifically, if I learn something interesting from an anime or BL, I tend to look it up afterword and go from there. I rarely rely on the media itself. Also, I watch dubbed anime.
MIA: So...
me: It's so I can crochet and watch BLs, alright? I can't craft and read subtitles at the same time.
MIA: You mean you don't watch it for the spice alone?
me:...I mean, not the first time through.

In general I say “ant,” but when I talk about my family there’s a separation.
My aunts on my dad’s side (his brothers’ wives) were all “ant.” Even though he pronounced his aunts “awnt”. When talking to us, his sisters-in-law were “ant” Sue and Sandy. I think that’s because we were being raised in the south when he grew up primarily in Montana and the surrounding states., where most of his family still lived.
That being said, my aunt on my mom side (her sister) was Cathymom. The logistics being my older brothers combined what my mom parents called her and what our cousins called her and boom, an adorable name that they have grown out of saying and I have not (for the record, my brother just calls her Cathy now).
Now, for the fun part, the great aunts on my mom’s side are/were all referred to with pronunciation of “ain’t”. My mom grew up in a more country environment and even though she she also says “ant” when talking about the general concept, all of her family and the family of those from where she grew up were “ain’t. “
Admittedly, this is over sharing on my part and may not be the reason for the question, but I find accents fascinating and we need a little love for all the “aints” out there.

This is the first time I've used Tumblr on a laptop in years and I'm still getting used to the the layout.
The problem comes when I get to longer posts that have the expand option. Now, there's nothing inherently wrong with this, except for the the fact that I'm vaguely dyslexic and keep reading it as "explain."
Which means it feels like I'm being morally judged for all the KinnPorsche gif sets that I've been looking at for the past few days.
If the shoe fits, I guess.

*to the tune of “Everybody Hurts”* Everybody’s gay….
And I’m a million percent here for it.

All right, look.
I will never say no to a spicy man on man love scene or passionate smooch…
But give me a homoerotic hand on back of the neck/head or intimate forehead on forehead moment and I will forever sing your praises.

Short Movie: Swingin' (Taiwan)
The son of two gay dad's wants to prove at school that he isn't gay and pulls up a girl's skirt, because a classmate dares him to do so. When his father comes to school after the incident, he gets insulting comments from the adults at school, because he's gay and feminine.
Qiu meanwhile is angry and runs away and his dad lies to his other father about him being at a play date, ashamed that he couldn't handle the situation.
Tumblr media
While his father(s) play music at their swing club, Qiu finds his classmate and tries to beat him up.
His father meanwhile vents his frustration about being bullied his whole life for being feminine and doesn't feel adequate at being a father since he's not Qiu's biological father.
Tumblr media
In the end the situation gets's resolved for all of them and they all make their way to the swing club.
It's a nice short movie about gender roles and prejudices and bullying. The question is "What is manly and what isn't?"
Tumblr media
Steven Chiang, who we know from "History 2: Right or Wrong" as the weird professor, plays the girly trumpet player and does a great job. I'd definitely recommend watching it, even though it's only 23 minutes,
Where to watch it? Gagaoolala
(Rights for the pictures also gagaoolala)

find something worth defending…i suppose music is as good as anything. go home, put your best record on, loud as it will play and with every note, you remember that’s something that the darkness can’t take from you.
