written for the multifandom poetry fest, for @vefanyar’s prompt: Baldur’s Gate campaign, Jazz/Ivrun, chances and changes
My love for you will never fade Though seasons change, and all things die Through every age and circumstance My love for you will never fade Though I will die and be remade I’m sure to find you by and by Though seasons change, and all things die My love for you will never fade
Through every age and circumstance Though I will die and be remade It’s “see you soon”; it’s not goodbye Through every age and circumstance Our hands will clasp again in dance Your patient faith will be repaid Though I will die and be remade Through every age and circumstance
It’s “see you soon”; it’s not goodbye Our hands will clasp again in dance So I will face death unafraid It’s “see you soon”; it’s not goodbye Just wait for me. No need to cry As we first met—as if by chance— Our hands will clasp again in dance It’s “see you soon”; it’s not goodbye
My love for you will never fade

Slave room discovered at Pompeii in 'rare' find
Tumblr media
Pompeii archaeologists said Saturday they have unearthed the remains of a “slave room” in an exceptionally rare find at a Roman villa destroyed by Mount Vesuvius’ eruption nearly 2,000 years ago.
The little room with three beds, a ceramic pot and a wooden chest was discovered during a dig at the Villa of Civita Giuliana, a suburban villa just a few hundred metres from the rest of the ancient city.
An almost intact ornate Roman chariot was discovered here at the start of this year, and archaeologists said Saturday that the room likely housed slaves charged with maintaining and prepping the chariot. Read more.

Some dollmaker impressions of my character Ivaile Alba; she’s a Wood Elf Order of the Lycan Bloodhunter. None of the dollmakers are 100 %, but I feel like the first one captures her best.
* tan skin, green eyes, long white hair in lots and lots of tiny braids (not dreadlocks, that’s just a dollmaker problem) * long, narrow face, “high” nose (Roman/Greek? I’m not sure about the terminology - like this, this or this)  * freckled all over her face, throat and chest * three scars (claw marks with ritual significance) on her right cheek starting at her jaw and going upward, those are important
* wears leaves and/or flowers in her hair, dabs of green makeup around her eyes, sometimes wears a necklace with wooden leaf pendants or a braided brown leather collar  * usually wears a shoulder-free blouse in green, much like the one in the last image

Promise (formerly Ianthe), Tiefling College of Spirits Bard
Violet skin, black hair, pupilless golden eyes. Very flashy personality, usually comes armed with a smirk. Pierced ears with lots of dangly golden ornaments, gilded horns. The portraits aren’t quite right, I’ve imagined her with ibex-style horns, though no larger than in the first two pictures. As her outfit goes, white and purple with gold ornaments are her style of choice, tassels would be a nice extra. She also has tiny butterfly silhouette tattoos in golden yellow (which she paints golden in makeup sometimes for her performances) going up from the corners of her eyes toward her temples, though unlike the reference pic hers don’t get larger, they get smaller the higher they rise (symbolizing her memory loss - and yes, she is a Mollymauk tribute character). Her necklaces are wrong as well, she’s wearing a plain round golden locket on a chain, something that has great personal significance to her. Also, if possible, could you add a single violet somewhere into the stained-glass border somewhere?
If you need anything else, let me know! :D If any of this is too detailed or too much, feel free to work with what works for you, I’ll adore the outcome regardless!

Yanathae references
The photos are a very close match to how Yanathae presents and carries herself and what gave me the idea for the character initially. She’s both a courtesan-turned-spy and a former arena gladiator, but came to be heir to a huge fortune and left both those occupations behind since. She’s very fond of the colours gold and yellow, wears golden makeup, a tiara (I’ve added some designs, so feel free to pick what you think fits best). She’s an arcane archer as class/subclass goes, so she carries decorated golden-wood longbow, as well as a quiver of yellow-fledged arrows with obsidian tips. Her last name Amascient means “Goldblossom” so a flower motif in her design would be great.
She has golden eyes (not brown) and some old, healed-over scars (cuts, arrow wounds) from arena fights on her arms, one or two curling across her shoulders from the back. She should be a bit more muscular than the reference pictures, and I would love it if her dress could be more than one layer; I’m imagining an opaque underdress and several sheer layers above, makes more sense for the desert climate she’s living in than a one-layered thing.
As character goes (because you seem to be very good at conveying that in your art), she is refined, noble and holds herself a little aloof, but in reality is very very lonely since her lover died in an arena fight. She also has a ruthless side that comes out when she’s fighting. There’s nothing especially gentle about her.
What I was thinking for this commission would be an “official” portrait, something that could be hung in a gallery, so seated, facing the viewer (possibly in half-profile) and I love the way the model holds her hands in that last photo, so that would be very lovely to have included. I was thinking a dark (dark green) background without much detail.
If anything of this is too much, too complicated or too specific, feel free to let me know and we can talk about it! :) Thank you so much, again!
