Katrina knew that her brother would never grow up with a normal childhood. They were both on the streets, they both stole to survive, she taught him how to use a switchblade and to play the role of a scared kid to trick someone and steal their wallets. They have been running their entire lives. It was exhausting, but it was how they stayed alive.
"Running and pushing people away is how I've mostly stayed alive this long." Katrina told Sarab seriously. When the other girl touched her shoulder, it took everything in the catlike teenager to not pull away. She didn't always like to be touched, but this time she just stiffened and then allowed the touch.
Once again, she didn't move when Sarab turned to leave. Katrina didn't have faith that the resistance could actually keep her and her little brother safe. But if there was a slight chance that it was possible...she should take it, right? "I'm not saying that I'll help you...but do you promise that Martine will be safe? If-if we join this stupid little team?"
(Sarab @illustrious-illusionist for Katrina!)
“So. You got your reward and you're just leaving, then?”
"Exactly. What, did you actually think I was going to stay? I got what I needed, now I'm done. Good luck, Sarab."

Katrina still didn’t look at Sarab, smiling a little bit when Sarab mentioned her own brother. “Maybe we can set up a play date with them.” She joked lightly, wanting to ease whatever tension and vulnerability that was still going on between them.
Katrina had been alone for so long. It wasn’t until her mother came back, used and manipulated her, before leaving the teenager alone with a child to take care of. But she loved her brother. She would do everything she could to take care of him.
“I get what you guys are doing. Fighting for the greater good or whatever,” she waved her hand nonchalantly, “but I can’t risk it. Nothing can happen to Martine. I would burn down the world if it meant that it would keep him safe.” She said strongly, meaning what she said.
Then again, Katrina was never a good person. She was morally gray and always would be. The good person belonged to her brother.

Katrina hated showing her emotions. Letting herself be vulnerable was something that was completely off the table. Her brother was the only one that got to see who she truly was. And, she supposed, maybe even Sarab saw that side too.
“I have to protect him,” Katrina replied, looking away because seeing Sarab look at as if the catlike mutant was so soft was nauseating to her, “he’s ten. I’ve been taking care of him for four years.”
A fond smile grew on her face as she remembered her brother, Martine, and how he was waiting for her back at the abandoned building they call a home. “He’s all I have. I’m all he has. I need to make sure to keep all of my lives and keep him safe.”

Katrina always get her walls up. It was the only way to keep her safe in a world that wanted to kill her. She did grow to care for Sarab, but this was too big of a risk. She had a little brother to protect, the biggest secret she ever kept. No one knew about him, not even Sarab. And Katrina knows that she should just let Sarab leave and fight on her own.
But her feelings were once again getting in the way.
Katrina growled under her breath before whirling around. “I have a brother!” She shouted. “I don’t just care for myself, I have to care for him. That’s why I won’t join this.”

Katrina swallowed thickly before raising her head defiantly. “I want no part of this oncoming war. I have people I need to protect too, I’m not going to risk this. I’d say that I’m sorry, but…you knew what you signed up for when decided to get me reeled into this.”

(Thanks! Also, your response sent at least 6 times, so it's working)
Richie scooted closer to Bill, reaching out to gently stroke her cheek. "God, she's adorable." He cooed, wrapping an arm around Bill's shoulders and the finger from his other hand gently touching her tiny little hand. "Oh yeah, she's got those ginger locks. God, she's gorgeous..."
Tumblr media
Bill sat and stared at the door to the hallway outside his room while he waited for the nurse to get back with their newest child, feeling anxious.
“Why’s it taking so long?” He looked to Richie and then to Leo and Phoebe sleeping in their stroller beside him. “Do you think there’s something wrong with the baby? The doctor said she was healthy but… she’s so little.” He picked at his fingers and jumped when the door finally opened, sitting up to hold his daughter again, but turning over when it was just a dinner tray. “I’m not hungry.” He murmured, too anxious to eat and still feeling out of his body after the whole ordeal.

(It's all good! Also, sorry for my super late responses, motivation is nonexistent and I forget easily)
Richie frowned a little but forced himself to keep a brave face. He couldn't afford to break down, not when Bill was so worried already. He looked toward the door when it was opened, smiling at the sight of their daughter before putting his hands gently on his shoulders. "Hey, hey, just stay there, alright? Rest, they'll hand her to you, love." He said with a fond smile.

Richie sighed softly, not wanting to appear anxious when Bill was already so anxious. "Billy, you didn't fail her. You never did. Sure it was a bit of a complicated pregnancy, but she's going to be okay. She's our daughter and she's gonna be so strong. I know it."

Richie was sitting in a chair right next to Bill, one foot on the stroller to gently move it back and forth so Leo and Phoebe can keep sleeping. “Hey, don’t worry, love. I’m sure everything is going to be fine, okay?” He tried to reassure him with a smile, reaching out to take his hand in his and squeezed it. “Just relax and eat something Bill. You need to regain your strength and feel better.”

Richie never wanted to talk about this out loud. Talk about the nightmares that were just nightmares. But it wasn't just a nightmare. Rae saw it too. Rae has seen that clown but not in her nightmares or dreams, but in real life. That thing had been chasing her, driving her to so much fear that she could barely even speak when she arrived at his home. Somehow, this thing was more than just a nightmare.
Even as Richie recounted his nightmare, it scared him. It was terrifying to remember what the clown had done to him in his nightmares, sewing his lips shut, being forgotten, turning into all of his friends and talking about how much they hated him and found him annoying, that clown taunting about his dirty little secret. Richie couldn't tell Rae about that, he couldn't. He flinched just slightly when she touched his arm before relaxing again. It was just Rae, he recognized her touch. Everything was okay.
"They-they weren't that bad." Richie tried to insist but leaned into her hug, wrapping his arms around her. He found comfort in Rae but he wasn't used to wanting comfort. He dealt with everything on his own. But knowing that a clown in his nightmares was real and possibly going after his friends was horrifying. He listened to what the blonde was saying before something clicked in his mind. Richie suddenly sat up straight, thinking again for a moment before speaking. "What if...it has something to do with all those kids going missing?"
Tumblr media
her chest burned as she ran. it felt like she couldn’t take deep enough breaths as her feet slapped against the pavement, bringing her further and further away from whatever that was. rae had been on her way back home when she’d seen it, probably the most horrifying thing she’d ever seen in her life. and there was a clown, too. it didn’t get close to her, but she could see it staring at her as she ran away. she could feel it’s gaze burning holes into her back as she ran away.
she had changed course instead of going home. nobody was there at the moment and she couldn’t be alone, and without realising it her feet had started taking her to another place that she felt safe, which happened to be in the presence of one of her closest friends, richie tozier. she could have ran to any of her friends houses, but richie’s came to mind first. in the midst of the panic from what she had just seen she needed to be with him. she needed to feel safe.
as soon as she had caught sight of his house she felt relieved. she’d been running for what felt like hours; her chest burned, her heart was racing, she could barely breathe properly. she took long inhales - gasps, really - as she jumped up his porch steps two at a time to be faced with his front door. her hand extended out to press the doorbell once. twice. three times. over and over and over, too panicked to wait. she didn’t even know if he was home, or if she was bothering his family. she was too freaked out to think about it.
“rich! are you home?!” she pulled her hand away from the doorbell only to start banging on the wooden door instead. her hand was shaking as she hit the wood with a fist, and she turned back to look behind her to see if it had followed her. luckily it hadn’t. “please please let me in!” she yelled, her throat sore.

The clubhouse was Beverly's safe haven. She felt secure there, surrounded by the Losers. She knew that it must look odd, being one of the two girls that hung around a bunch of boys, but she didn't care. She already had a reputation for being a "slut" even though she has only kissed one boy. So the redhead stopped caring and ignored the rumors. The Losers didn't believe it, and that was what mattered to her.
Beverly climbed down the latter, giggling a little bit under her breath. "I don't have anything else on me. Well, maybe I'll just shove a pack of cigarettes down your throat." She joked to Olivia, fishing her pockets before pulling out said pack of cigarettes. As much as Beverly loved her boys, they did drive her insane. Having another girl in the group certainly helped her maintain whatever bit of sanity was left.
"My, how thoughtful of you!" Beverly said with a smile, walking over to the hammock and carefully getting in beside Olivia. She pulled out a cigarette from the pack and a lighter she had in her bra before looking at the girl beside her. "Nope, haven't seen him. He probably got tired and ran home." She said, her jaw clenching slightly at the mention of Bowers and shoved the cigarette to her lips before lighting it.
Tumblr media
olivia scowled up at the ceiling of the clubhouse as she leaned back in the hammock. if she leaned her leg out far enough over the edge she could just about touch the floor with her foot, which allowed her to swing the hammock every so often. ideally, she’d be at home watching some shit movie and eating food. but she was stuck in the clubhouse in damp clothes because it had been raining.
originally, the plan was to just leave school and go home. she had detention that day so she couldn’t leave with the losers unfortunately. though when she had started going home she had ran into henry bowers, which lead to where she was in the clubhouse hiding from him. she had lost him when she had gotten to the forest, but she wasn’t taking any chances. henry bowers was a piece of shit, but he was determined. if he saw her again then she was fucked.
one good thing about the clubhouse being empty when she got there was that she had the hammock all to herself, and she didn’t have to witness her brother and eddie fighting over it instead. the bad thing about the clubhouse being empty was that it was too quiet. she was used to the constant noise of bickering and laughing and talking, so with no sound other than the creak of the hammock swinging it was too quiet.
olivia looked up when she heard the hatch of the clubhouse open and breathed a sigh of relief, glad she wouldn’t be alone anymore. nobody else knew where the clubhouse was so she didn’t have to worry about who was coming down. it had to be one of the losers. “i really hope it’s not an axe murderer that’s coming down to see me, that’d suck.” she called out as she swung the hammock again, waiting to see who was coming down.

Oh god, Richie felt sick. He had convinced himself that it was a nightmare, even though he didn’t want to leave his house. It wasn’t real…but Rae saw it. She saw the exact same thing as he did. She saw the monster they haunted his dreams, like Freddy fucking Krueger, in person. He immediately began regretting standing up and sat back down on his bed again, his stomach churning with anxiety and fear.
“I-I saw him in my nightmares.” Richie admitted, feeling vulnerable to admit it. The loud, dirty-mouthed boy that had nightmares. God, what a sight. “They were just nightmares but…I didn’t feel safe. That’s why I was barely leaving. I…I didn’t think that this thing was real..”
Richie ran his hands through his black curls, tugging on them to try and keep himself composed and kept his gaze at the ground. “I-I don’t know…have the others said something about a clown before?”

Beverly hated being home. Well, it wasn’t even a home, really. A house. A house that was filled with cold and haunting memories rather than good ones. A house where she was afraid to be herself, to be alone, in fear of what her father would do. But at least she had her friends. God, she loved the Losers. She never had friends before but now that she did, she didn’t want to ever let them go.
Even though Beverly trusted the losers with her life, they all didn’t know what really went on in her house. She didn’t want to worry them, she could handle it. But today was another one of those days where the redhead just didn’t want to go to her house. She settled with going to the clubhouse instead, not thinking anyone else would be there, and figured she would spend the night there. It shouldn't be too bad, there was a hammock. She would be fine.
Beverly opened the hatch to the clubhouse, starting to go down before hearing someone speak. She recognized that voice, the only other girl in the group beside herself, Olivia. “It is, I just forgot my axe so I have to improvise.” She joked with a smile, coming all the way down and walking toward Olivia who was lying on the bed.

For once, Richie was patient. He knew that she was scared and didn’t want to push her. He was still smiling at her in reassurance as he led her back to his room. She seemed to maybe relax a bit and sat down at the edge of his bed, watching her begin to pace around and ramble about what she just went through. At first, Richie would admit, it sounded weird. Super strange, yeah. But at the mention of a clown, a trickle of dread went down Richie’s spine. He froze, suddenly feeling cold as he stared at her in shock before finding the words to speak.
“Did-did he have yellow eyes?” Richie finally managed to ask, forcing himself to stand up on his shaky legs. “And red hair? And, like, super tall? Talks a lot about floating?” He really wanted Rae to say no. That this wasn’t the terrifying clown that was haunting his nightmares, that made him so scared to leave his own house most of the time. But watching her shake and cry made him slowly realize that this was much worse than he realized.

Richie’s stomach was starting to twist, feeling nervous about what was going on. He kept his hand on her, hoping that this would be enough to comfort her for now. He felt almost helpless and didn’t know what to do, what could’ve gotten Rae this worked up.
As desperate as he was to know what had happened, Richie managed to keep his mouth shut and let Rae get her head on straight and figure out what she needed to say. “You saw something? What did you see?” He asked her, squinting slightly in confusion.
Richie could still see how afraid she was, almost filled with paranoia as the blonde continued to look out through the peephole as if she was worried that she had been followed. He kept her hand on his back and hoped that his touch was helping in some way, rubbing up and down her back lightly until she finally turned to him.
The anxiety in the pit of his stomach was beginning to grow when Rae confirmed that it wasn’t Bowers. For a moment, Richie thought maybe it was the clown in his dreams but pushed the thought aside. That wasn’t real. He nearly opened his mouth to make a joke from how nervous he was but forced it down instead. Richie needed to be serious for her right now. “Hey, you can tell me anything. We’re Losers, nothing’s too crazy for us.” He said with a reassuring smile.
“Yeah, sure we can.” Richie responded, figuring that maybe if Rae sat down she would be able to tell him what was going on and relax a bit. He took her hand, leading her to his room.
