Hello! I am pleased to report that I have written this back when I first started writing for Drarry in 2021. It was for a game event so I had a fixed word count to work with, hence the shortness!

If I were to write this again now, sans a word count limit, I would love it to be a longer piece. I'd also love to include 'casual/accidental touches', 'protective boyfriend behaviour', and an "anxious draco/earnest harry' combo. Maybe also the 'Idiots In Love' trope because that's always fun!

Your Biggest Fan

Written for @drarrymicrofic prompt: 'Dystopia'. Hunger Games AU! G-rated. ~490 words. No warnings. Please show me love and affection. <3

The Hunger Games had always been an annual sensation; this year was no different. In the weeks leading up to the actual games, the show was all Draco's classmates talked about.

Draco, however, never had the stomach to watch more than a couple of minutes of the show. He had watched a season when he was eleven and had been gutted when the tribute he had been rooting for was horribly killed by the 'villain'. He doubted he could ever recover from that trauma.

Then his friends started talking about That Boy From District Eleven. He was Draco's age - seventeen - the oldest possible age to be eligible for the Games. If he hadn't volunteered to replace a twelve-year-old boy, he would have escaped the entire ordeal.

But no- he had to play the hero, and that was what the Capitol called him: The Ultimate Hero.

Draco had scoffed when Pansy raved about the boy's handsome looks and muscular body. Draco had standards, and the idiocy the boy had shown by volunteering hadn't impressed him. He skipped the interviews and the pre-game ratings, thinking he wouldn't be watching the Games this year. After all, he had exams to study for.

But then he walked in on his parents watching the first episode in the living room and his father made him join them.

The Ultimate Hero survived the initial bloodbath and managed to flee with only minor injuries. He had secured a decent pack and found a flowing river. He displayed excellent earth skills and survival instincts. He mostly kept to himself on the first night. After he fell asleep, the show shifted its focus onto another contestant.

Draco excused himself and returned to his room, where he went online to read everything about Hero.

He learned his real name, read his biodata and browsed through photos after photos of him. He was undoubtedly attractive: tousled black hair, intense green eyes, sun-kissed skin, sculptured physique and a unique scar on his forehead, but for some reason, he was shy in front of a crowd. He spoke stiltedly in all his interviews and kept looking at his hands when he wasn't addressed.

But from what Draco had seen of Hero in the Arena, he was someone determined to survive.

The Games had live feeds subscribers could view twenty-four hours a day on the website. Draco watched Hero on his mobile phone at every opportunity he had. When Hero got a nasty infection from a cut on his arm, Draco used up his weekly allowance to buy him medicine. When Hero lost his sword in a battle, Draco convinced his fellow supporters online to crowdfund a new sword. Draco hyped Hero up in the show's forums and chat rooms, converting more and more fans of the show into Hero's supporters.

Draco became obsessed. Not with the Games, but with the boy.

He vowed to do everything in his power to help Harry Potter win.
