He shook his head in disbelief at her reaction, a small chuckle building in his chest. “Alright, alright, spoilsport. What did you have in mind?” He wasn’t  actually serious about the snakes, he just wanted to see what she would say.

          CASSIE SHAKES HER HEAD WITH a slight eye roll at her friend. she can handle a lot, just not snakes. “hmm,” she tilts her head to the side as she considers it. “okay, how about this. you cause the distraction for one of those vendors, and then i will get us something good to eat?”

— while he whistled a little tune, Aldrich was cleaning a few glasses from behind counter at his bar. the guy had an enjoyable night at the ball and since then, business was booming. as he looked around to his crowd, he still saw some of the usual he remembered from the Isle but also some new faces. turning his head to the counter, he saw someone and walked over. “you got ID? otherwise i might have to kick you out.” he said seriously before he started to laugh. “kidding. as if this handsome face will ever card anyone. what’s your poison?” he asked.

          “YEAH, RIGHT.” CASSIE RAISES AN eyebrow at her friend ( she doesn’t really know what to refer to him as ) she pushes back a blonde lock behind her ear as she looks up at him, a small smirk on her face. “just a beer,” she says, placing some money on the bar and pushing it towards him. “for now at least,” cassie adds on after, resting her cheek in the palm of her hand.

EMERALD‌.

   “Well that just doesn’t seem nice.” Commenting softly at the people a few tables away, a couple more seemingly fighting with one and other. Being alone she felt awkward witnessing the event take place. Having to tear her gaze from it she turned to the closest table. “I never understood.. why people fight in public. Isn’t the leaving witnesses?”  [ @hqaurstarters​ ]

          CASSIE TURNS TO WHERE THE other is looking, head tilted to the side as she surveys the couple. “hmm,” she says, lips pursed and eyebrows knit together as the scene unfolds. “i think it’s rather amusing to see domestic disputes like this in public,” she says with a laugh before turning to look at emerald. “but you’re right. it does leave witnesses.”

HARLOW‌.

harlow squints her eyes at the male before cracking a small smile at his words. ❝ top secret, huh ? ❞ she’s almost immediately intrigued, having been a fan of secluded locations for herself to hide out in. ❝ i’d hate for someone to ruin your secret location so my lips are sealed, ❞ she reassures, even going through the motion of zipping her lips and throwing away the invisible key.

          HIS GRIN GROWS AS HARLOW seems to play along with his theatrics. he’s probably getting ahead of himself, but it’s almost as if she’s starting to warm him up to him. only slightly though. “i appreciate that,” xavier says grinning instantly. “it is somewhat of a walk but it’s absolutely brilliant.”

hey yall so i ended up watching little fires everywhere with my mom all evening so now i’m gonna go update the main & then i’ll be on to do replies/reply to starters !

STARTER FOR @oldflcme​ !

          EVER SINCE THE BALL AND their dance, xavier’s been thinking about declan far more often compared to before the ball. he tries to not be so nervous and analytical whenever the two are together. but he can’t help but to wonder if it meant something, or if it was dex just being himself. his heart always feels like it’s going a mile a minute and xavier still has to tell himself to calm down before he makes a fool of himself in front of dex. and now the two of them are in his small studio apartment, something they do all the time. “did you hear about the bridge?” he asks, raising up the newspaper he got in the morning while he was shopping. “it’s absolute madness.” xavier hopes that while he’s unloading all his new painting materials, talking about something like the news will calm him down and try to NOT stare at his best friend.

the sun was shining, the air was crisp, and acel was in an exceptionally good mood. it felt like spring, it felt like love, and he was thriving. his attitude couldn’t possibly be soured as he propped against the garden wall, gazing at the clouds. noticing the other a wide smiled grew upon his lips. “it’s a good day to be alive, no?” he asked pulling down his sunglasses, “especially when i get to gaze upon someone as lovely as you.” 

          XAVIER’S HEAD PERKS UP FROM HIS sketchbook at the sound of a familiar voice. whenever it is nice outside, xavier leaves his apartment to draw inspiration from the outside. xavier lets out a soft laugh, smiling up at acel from the bench he’s sitting on. “it is,” he nods, his ears turning a light pink as acel continues. he shakes his head with a small laugh, “think you might be talking about someone else, my friend.”

          FOLLOWING THEIR SMALL ADVENTURE TO the library at the ball, xavier has wanted to spend more time with olivia, surprised that their paths have never crossed before. so when he sees her walking down the street, he brightens up. “olivia!” he says cheerfully, stopping next to the girl. “how are you?” he asks with a small smile, wondering how she’s been since the ball and the news about the bridge between auradon and the isle.

harlow’s eyes scan the outdoors, as if she’s expecting different scenery from the one in front of her. her eyes roll at the sight of crowds of people but admittedly, its a nice area and makes for a good painting. ❝ well, i would love to see one of those. unless it’s just for you, ❞ her tone is flat as she blinks at him

          XAVIER SHAKES HIS HEAD PLAYFULLY, “it’s a top secret place.” he’s joking, feeling a bit more comfortable around the girl. “so, if i show you,” xavier looks over at her, a smile showcasing his deep dimples. “you have to promise you won’t show anyone else,” he tells her, an eyebrow slightly raised.

skylar’s lips curl up into a smile at the sight of cassie’s growing smile, laughing lightly. ❝ only for you, ❞ she says, winking at her friend playfully. had it not been for the adrenaline from hitting eden, she might not have been in such a good mood. but then again, she was having more fun than expected with her friends and thanks to ember. ❝ me too, i’m a little disappointed. i would’ve loved to see some royals lose their shit. ❞ she states, looking out at the crowd with a small frown. ❝ you think it’s cause they’re from the isle as well and didn’t have anything ? or cause they’re a royal and think they’re too good for this ? ❞

          CASSIE PLACES HER HAND OVER her heart, feigning that she is touched by skylar’s compliments. granted, she is, but not nearly as much as she pretends to be ; it’s definitely the spiked punch getting to her now. cassie huffs, her attitude back to normal. “right? but i’m s u r e if we stay long enough, someone will get into a little spat,” she remarks, hoping that she does get to see some royals act like normal people for once. “hmm, i don’t know. i think some of our friends back home probably didn’t have much. the royals though? probably didn’t want to put any effort into it.”

cade chuckles at xavier’s words, smiling down at his feet. ❝ i guess air conditioning wouldn’t look very classy, would it ? ❞ he’s never had a problem with the royal families but the need to be grouped like they were so much better bothered him a little bit. not enough that he’d ever voice it though. ❝ yeah, i wouldn’t be surprised if it was a villain kid. but then, i don’t wanna assume that just because of where they’re from, you know ? ❞

          XAVIER SHAKES HIS HEAD JOKINGLY AT cade’s question. “oh, absolutely not. i’m sure they’ve convinced themselves they don’t sweat,” xavier jokes, dimples appearing in his cheeks. while he was technically a prince himself, that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t make little jokes towards the people that seem to have more of a privileged attitude. personally, xavier has never seen a point in treating people differently only because of actions made by their parents. “i wouldn’t either, but you’re right. i’ve known some kids from here that would NOT be above spiking the punch,” he comments, pressing his lips together.
