I know Queen of Tears is not everyone's cup of tea. But after reading some fans' sentiments and contemplating, I'd like to share my two cents/realisations on this:
1. I like that the story started out with a very realistic plot: a married couple falling apart but then rediscovered their love for each other. I do agree however about the sentiments of some viewers about the storytelling.
2. This isn't a romcom. It's a heavy drama with a couple of light and funny moments here and there. I would have appreciated it more if the writer focused mainly on the root cause/s of BaekHong's marriage falling apart:
The loss of their baby
Hae-in's family being toxic af (at the time)
And then shift the focus on their healing, and while BaekHong did eventually find their way back into love, it kinda throws me off that the show seems to divert the viewers' attention from that one crucial part of the story, the very reason why their marriage started to crumble and that is addressing the loss of their child. They briefly discussed it, but not as thorough as I personally would have liked (example: being honest about how they felt at the time, finding ways on how to properly handle their grief and acceptance of what happened, etc.).
Perhaps Hae-in could have expressed how she felt about her mother mistreating her all these years, then they could have been given more time to rebuild their relationship before she went to surgery.
3. Adding Eun-seong and Mo Seul-hee in the picture...I'm sorry to say this but it basically ruined the main plot's momentum. At this point, this whole revenge thingy is just "dragging" (like this bullshit is taking longer to unveil than BaekHong getting back together). I like the twists in the story but I think they overdid it, it's like one twist after another to the point that it becomes exhausting and it kills the excitement for some viewers.
Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy watching this show, I think the actors are great, they made me love and hate their characters, I highly appreciate the role reversals in the main characters, and I think it's still entertaining, I appreciate that Park Ji-eun tried to add something outside of the box to spice up the storyline, but yeah...idk how the show is gonna pull this shit off with only 2 episodes left.

Yeah babes, I'm exhausted. Episode 14 is fucking exhausting! Also I'm not in my usual enthusiastic mood because I'm not okay (not because of the show) but I'm trying to get my shit together, so I apologize if this seems a bit...unlively
📍Writer and director were definitely trolling when Hae-in saw the old man visiting his presumably wife's grave. It was like a fucking premonition of the finale's episode it made me worry for a moment.
📍Aunt Beom-ja and hubby #4's moments are basically what cheered me up, they're my second favorite couple next to my BaekHong loves of course, I can't wait for them to get married and live happily in Yongdu-ri.
📍I'm glad Da-hye ended up not going to her abusive ex and stayed with Soo-cheol instead. However, I am still worried about her, Geon-u and Soo-cheol. Da-hye's ex is like a fucking rabid dog, no brain cells but is still capable of hurting anyone. I sure hope Soo-cheol's been training well.
📍I kinda anticipated this bittersweet moments of BaekHong, I can't even count how many times I ugly cried in this episode, but I'm glad Hae-in took the surgery. It pains me to see that her happiest memories with Hyun-woo disappeared just like that, but the fact that Hyun-woo's name remained in her subconscious tells us that she hasn't completely forgotten. In previous episodes, Hyun-woo was mostly the one who saves her, but I do believe that in the next episode or in the finale, she'll be able to save him. That being said, I hope she finds the video Hyun-woo secretly recorded so she'll know the truth.
📍Should I even talk more about Eun-seong? Nah, I'm tired of talking shit about him. He's that pathetic and delusional that he's not even worth my time anymore. I still believe in my gut feeling that what I predicted about his fate will come true though. 🤷
📍I can't believe we are almost at the end of the tunnel. After everything that happened, I sure as hell am expecting not only a happy ending, but a satisfying one. Episode 16 better be the best episode.

GOD! EPISODE 13 IS BITTERSWEET, but I think this is by far the episode where like 80-90% of the scenes were happy. So I love it!
📍I knew they'd find nothing in the panic room, it's kinda frustrating but what's new? At least Hyun-woo had a back-up plan to fuck up Eun-seong and I can't wait for him and his mother to rot in jail. But WAIT--hear me out, if Seul-hee finds out that Eun-seong went to Germany to follow Hae-in, this bitch would be livid and since she sees every member of the Hong family as an obstacle, she'll most likely going to do something to eliminate Hae-in. What if Eun-seong sacrifices himself and dies in the process to save her, then Mo Seul-hee will lose her mind and she'd spend the rest of her remaining days locked up in a mental asylum, alone and lonely. I think that would be a perfect ending for her and Eun-seong don't y'all think?
📍Aunt Beom-ja and hubby number 4 moments, Hae-in and Mama Hong slowly rebuilding their relationship, Baek and Hong parents being besties, Soo-cheol continuing to stand up for his family...I appreciate these little family moments so much I just don't want it to end.
📍Team QOT be blessing us with lots and lots of BaekHong moments!!! Ah, I feel so spoiled as a fan, I never considered their divorce as legit, but more like they went back to the way they were...you know, carefree, happy, being so in-love, making great memories. I love that they re-created the honeymoon scene in episode 1, then the first OST to ever be released (The Reasons of my Smiles by BSS) started playing in the background, it felt so nostalgic to me.
📍I also love the fact that Hae-in's parents, especially her mom didn't argue when Hae-in decided to move-in with Hyun-woo in his apartment. It feels like they are finally giving their full support and blessing for BaekHong to become a married couple. Also, those hubby and wifey moments made me smile a lot!
📍But Hyun-woo once again going above and beyond to make Hae-in happy 🥹🥹🥹 hubby really made the "snow fall in October" so wifey could witness it first hand, then hearing his most genuine laugh when Hae-in confessed that he was his first love was just the best. Those scenes were just so good it made me wish that they could stay like that.
📍But of course, those happy moments won't last because well...who says we can have it all? Now, if this was a typical Kdrama and the lead character would be put in Hae-in's situation, normally we could expect the lead character to take the risk and the other lead as well the people on their side would help her remember or perhaps create new memories. However, I do appreciate the fact that Park Ji-eun didn't romanticize that kind of situation but instead gave us the reality of how complicated it is to be in Hae-in's shoes. It's easy to say, "Oh it's fine Hyun-woo's gonna help her remember," and this guy bless his heart would be willing to do that, but what about Hae-in?
As much as I really, really want her to get the surgery, I do understand why she refused after finding out about the possible side effects. It's not just about losing her memories, it's about losing her loved ones. It's so fucking cruel because if she doesn't take the surgery, they'll lose her, if she does then it's the other way around. She could wake up becoming a completely different person, forgetting about how much she loves her family, her husband and it will hurt them really badly. She loves Hyun-woo so much that she doesn't want to lose that love she has for him in exchange for extending her life. If she loses that love, then what's the point of living? I still do hope for some miracle though, because she deserves to live a long life with Hyun-woo.
ANYWAY, Since episode 14 is coming up I am mentally and emotionally preparing myself for a pretty painful episode. Next week is finale week and I hope, I REALLY hope that BaekHong will get a happy ending they both deserve.

Look, I don't care how unrealistic and nonsensical it will be - I need Hae-In to be cured by the end of this show so she can have a long, happy life with Hyun-woo.

I look like shit right now, but hear me out: Episode 12 drove me NUTS!!!
📍For a moment, Hong Hae-in gave me a heart attack. I really thought that she wanted to spare Hyun-woo the heartache of her not being able to recognize him anymore and just went with Eun-seong. My brain cells weren't brain cell-ing, of course she had other reasons...duh. But it is really terrifying that she has moments when she can't recognize what's real and what isn't. I do however love the part when she knew that she was with the real Hyun-woo. In any scene or in any situation they've been, Hyun-woo radiates that kind of warmth that makes Hae-in feel relieved, secured, and loved. That right there is, "The heart recognizes what the mind can't."
📍I forgot to include this in my last post because I was in a hurry to finish it, but I laud Kim Soo Hyun for doing a great job during the final scene of episode 11. You can instantly recognize that something felt off with the way "Hyun-woo" called Hae-in, like I said earlier, the real Baek Hyun-woo radiates so much warmth, meanwhile the fake Hyun-woo was cold and I can say that he made me feel uncomfortable. What an amazing performance KSH!
📍Hyun-woo and Hae-in using their baby's due date as their pass codes just means that they still think about him/her. 🤧 Oh that baby could have been so loved by them had they been given the chance.
📍Eun-seong's delusion is worsening. When he was confessing all of his bullshit to Hae-in, I was like...so what? So what if he fell for her first? If he kept her necklace all these years, if he had "loved" her all this time? The point is, HAE-IN DOESN'T LOVE HIM AND DOESN'T WANT TO BE WITH HIM!
📍All the while, I thought that Eun-seong is a dangerous man. Turns out Mo Seul-hee is far more unhinged than him. You can see in Eun-seong's eyes that he was taken aback when his mother confessed to being the person behind the deaths of the people who abused him as a child. Bitch wasn't kidding when she said that she'd go as far as eliminating Hae-in for using him, and Eun-seong may be dumb but not-so-dumb to not know what Seul-hee is capable of. I still feel like he's going to betray his own mother to save Hae-in by either helping Hyun-woo or helping Hae-in in his own twisted way.
📍BAEKHONG IN THEIR MARRIED COUPLE ERA!!! I love that Hae-in can now freely say what she truly feels about Hyun-woo and the hubs gushing when she said that she'd still marry him in any lifetime.
📍The sunset proposal was the reason why I had to pause because I was bawling my eyes out, I kid you not. Hae-in wanting to be officially Mrs. Hyun-woo again so badly but stopped herself because she knew her condition was worsening and she doesn't want to burden him anymore. She wants to spend the rest of her life with him but it's far from possible, she wants to be the wife Hyun-woo deserves but the future holds no guarantee. She was torn between following what her heart wants and not wanting to rip Hyun-woo apart more than she already has (because of her illness). It was such a heartbreaking scene that's why I was crying so hard.
📍And then, the writer and the director decided to shift the scene to Aunt Beom-ja and (future) new husband, the part when they were looking for (future) new hubby's mother and they were kinda like too close to each other, I was smiling because they looked so cute together so you can imagine that I was smiling from ear to ear with tears still running down my face. Also, I did mention before that Aunt Beom-ja is a more unhinged version of Hae-in, actually...auntie and future new hubby are kinda like the older version of BaekHong, only crazier and more chaotic.
📍Da-hye finally realizing that she sided the wrong people. I'm just glad that she was able to get out safely and return to the Hongs. But I am so proud of Soo-cheol for manning up and defending Da-hye and baby Geon-u, he's really growing up 🥹.
📍But I didn't really expect that Hong Man-dae aka grandpa Hong would make such a huge sacrifice to save his family. He was an idiot for trusting Mo Seul-hee but I never wanted him dead. He didn't even get to see his family before passing (except Hae-in but it wasn't like a happy reunion) which was so fucking tragic. Though, I do hope that Papa Hong would finally have the courage to step-up as the head of the family, he's their pillar now and they need him more than ever.
📍Can we talk about the last clip for a bit? I know the show apparently loves to give us viewers cliffhangers and mind boggling shit but I'm overthinking rn. What if they found nothing in the panic room? Or Yoon Eun-seong found it first? This story is unpredictable, anything could happen, but what I do know is that Hae-in is gonna wear the ring Hyun-woo gave her in the next episode. Iykyk.
📍THE EPILOGUE!!! BaekHong has crossed paths many times already and in those times Hyun-woo has saved Hae-in. They're really meant for each other!!

I'm kinda busy today so I'll be doing this as quickly as I can. Episode 11 is all about healing and reconciliation.
📍Hae-in's voice over after she collapsed and was the taken to the hospital made me cry. She was just as hurt as Hyun-woo when their marriage fell apart yet she didn't put the blame entirely on him. She knew she had her shortcomings too, her apologizing not just to Hyun-woo but her entire family as well is the most humble she has ever been and I am so proud of her. She finally broke her barriers, I can sense that a huge weight has been lifted on her shoulders now because she realized that it's okay to be vulnerable and that she doesn't have to carry this burden all on her own.
📍Papa Hong finally becoming the man of the family, Hong Soo Cheol the baby is finally growing up, Mama Hong realizing what an asshole she has been are the kind of character developments I've been waiting to see. Finally, they're getting their shit together.
📍The entire family finally getting along, supporting Hae-in and working together to get rid of their enemies are the most enjoyable scenes for me.
📍Mr. & Mrs. Baek being more in-love than ever and fighting together like the power couple they have always been is chef's kiss! I guess I've come to terms now that their story might not end up the way we all hope for, so...I'll probably just go with the flow and prepare myself to ugly cry when the last episode airs I guess.
📍Aunt Beom-ja's new husband 😏 I guess she and Hae-in have a lot in common. It's just that auntie is the more unhinged version of Hae-in.
📍Yoon Eun-seong is just so pathetic at this point that I almost feel sorry for him...almost. Dude really thought that after all he did, and even going as far as gaslighting Hae-in would make her run to him, why can't he just accept it?! 🤦 Also, I knew that Hae-in was hallucinating in the last clip. I am just so relieved that Hyun-woo was able to save her. At this point, I could no longer take this bitch seriously.

Bridgerton logic at it's finest
Season 1: I really want kids and marry for love. So I'm gonna marry this man who says he can't have kids and probably doesn't love me!
Season 2: I think I love this girl. So I'm gonna propose to her sister!
Season 3: I wanna win my friend back. So I'm gonna teach her how to woo men (especially me) and get unhinged jealous when it starts to work.
The Bridgertons trully are sharing a single braincell and Violet is in charge of it most of the time, lol.

I'm not even thinking about that special 2-part episode of Queen of Tears and the lead actors not "gathering in one place" due to their conflicting schedules, I'm thinking about the statement, "To ease the disappointment of the conclusion" of the show.
So it's gonna be a sad ending then?! 😭😭😭 If so, I'm not looking forward to it. Even if it was implied in the very beginning that it might [possibly] give us a sad...or at least a bittersweet ending, I'll never be ready for it and I'll never be okay with it. I'm already having sepanx now that we're only a few episodes away from the finale, what more a freaking sad ending??? My heart can't take it. 😭😭😭

So I basically stumbled upon a video clip that was edited by a fan and the caption basically said that Hyun-woo fell out of love with Hae-in, I beg to differ.
Hyun-woo never fell out of love, he just said that he hates Hae-in and wanted to eject himself from their marriage but the way he acted was completely opposite. I'd say, he got tired. Again, the turning point was when Hae-in decided to clear the nursery without even asking him if he was okay with it. From Hyun-woo's point of view, he felt invalidated, having the nursery was his way of coping their loss while Hae-in on the other hand had a different way of doing so. The problem was they never discussed it, they didn't meet each other half-way and come up with a better way to handle their grief, they could have healed together, and moved forward together. But that wasn't the case, they started acting indifferent towards each other, basically acting like housemates instead of husband and wife. When they talk, it always ends in an argument and when you are in that kind of situation, it's exhausting, even the most loving person can get tired too.
It's sad though, that he reached a point when he decided to end their marriage, and Hae-in had to fall ill just for him to be reminded of how much he loves this woman and would do anything to be with her.
The point of Hyun-woo and Hae-in's story is how important communication is in a relationship. Because even if you have been together for so long and you've known each other so well, at the end of the day you still can't read your partner's mind...which explains why in the earlier episodes I so badly wanted to bump their heads for not communicating properly.
