Week 11- AFL umpire indigenous shirt
The PR activity that is being analysed is a picture opportunity that is promoting the AFL indigenous round and the design of the umpire’s shirt. The picture is showing off the design of the new indigenous umpire shirt that has indigenous drawings on it.
The AFL is leading this campaign as they have posted the photos on their twitter account. Two AFL umpires are in the picture wearing the indigenous umpire shirt. Also the co-designer of the drawings of the shirt a student from Worawa Aboriginal college art is pictured wearing the umpire shirt as well.
The major PR tools that are being used is picture opportunity as it is a picture of umpires and the co-designer wearing the new indigenous umpire shirt, and the use of ambassadors as AFL umpires are wearing the shirt, with the co-designer of it.
I saw this PR activity on my twitter feed as I was going through twitter. I engaged with it by looking at the pictures and checking out the new design on the umpire shirts, I also like the post.
It was a good picture as the AFL clearly showed what the umpire’s indigenous shirt looked like and they got to give credit to a co-designer of the shirt as well. They also got to promote the indigenous round in the post to, as it allowed fans to acknowledge that the Sir Douglas Indigenous was coming up.

Week 10 – NRL magic round
The PR activity that is being analyzed is a stunt that has been done on Facebook. It is letting Facebook or snapchat users to wear NRL clubs color’s on their face through filters to show their support for their club, to promote the NRL’s Magic Round.
The NRL are leading this campaign as it is to promote the NRL’s Magic Round. The NRL, Facebook and snapchat are involved in this stunt. Facebook and snapchat are the social media that allows fans to use this filter on their face.
The major PR tools that are being used is the use of stunt. As the stunt is being undertaken to promote the NRL and its club for the weekend. This to allow fans to know about the magic round and promote the game as well.
I saw this stunt on Facebook. I was scrolling through my Facebook feed and this came up. I engaged with it by watching the video it showed and trying out the filter myself on snapchat.
It was a good piece of PR activity by the NRL, as it is an easy and fun way for fans to interact with the NRL and a good way to promote the magic round as well. AS fans may show their friends and get the message of the magic round across to others.

Week 9 - Country game
The PR activity that is being analysed is a picture opportunity to promote the country game in the AFL. The photo includes two players holding a lamb and cat in front of the MCG to promote their game on Sunday.
The Essendon Football club is leading this campaign as they have posted the picture on their twitter account. Essendon Football Club player and Geelong Football Club player are in the photo holding animals. Legends form both teams Kevin Sheedy and Billy Brownless are also included in the photo.
The major PR tools that are being used are picture opportunity and use of celebrities. The post is a picture to promote the country game. The celebrities in the picture are two players and two legends which will more likely engage fans in the post.
I saw this post on my twitter feed as I going through it, someone had liked the photo and it came up on my feed. I engaged with the post by looking at the picture and reading the caption to see what the picture was all about.
I thought this was a good way to promote the country game. As it would engage fans by players holding animals which you don’t see too often and to have big legends of the club in the picture too. The caption also included what day the game was, so fans could make that day available to head to the game.

Week 7
This PR activity is an article promoting and event, included with a picture opportunity. The event that is being promoted is the good Friday AFL match between North Melbourne and Essendon, named kicked for kids’ game. It is also to promote the Good Friday appeal.
North Melbourne Football Club and Essendon Football Club are leading this campaign. The Good Friday Appeal, Royal Children’s Hospital are also involved as funds are being raised for these organizations from this match. North Melbourne’s Jack Ziebell and Essendon’s Dyson Heppell are included in the picture with some kids as well.
The major PR tools that are being used are picture opportunity and use of celebrities. The picture that is included has Heppell and Ziebell holding footballs that say kick for kids. The kids that are in the picture have shirts on that represent the Good Friday Appeal and are holding donation tins.
I saw this article on Facebook. A post was on my Facebook with the link to this article. I clicked on the link as I am a North Melbourne fan and was thinking about going to the game. I also wanted to see what the big deal was all about to.
The article is good as it explains about the game on Friday and why it is a big deal. It is also encouraging people to come to the game and to donate to the Good Friday Appeal. They give a good explanation of why to donate, as it will help the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Week 6
The PR activity that is being analyzed is an article promoting the release of Australian men cricket team’s world cup uniform. This also includes a picture opportunity of the new uniform. The article is also promoting the world cup.
Cricket Australia is leading this campaign. There are multiple organizations involved in this campaign. Glenn Maxwell an Australian cricketer is in modelling the world cup kit in the picture. Asics is involved as well as there are the suppliers of the kit and a major sponsor for cricket Australia.
The major PR tools that are being used are picture opportunity and the use of a celebrity. As Glenn Maxwell is the celebrity wearing the new uniform in the picture.
I saw this PR activity on my Facebook feed. It was posted by cricket.com.au, to let fans know of their new world cup uniform. I clicked the link on the post, as I wanted to see what the new uniform looked like. I read the article as well as looking at the pictures, to get background information on the uniform.
I thought this was a good article by cricket.com.au as they allowed the fans to get a first hand look at the new world cup kit. The picture that was included was a good picture as it put on show what the uniform looks like on a cricket and gave everyone the chance to see what it looks like. Cricket Australia got their message across of the new kit by posting pictures of what it looked like.

Week 5
The PR activity that is being analyzed is an article of an event that took place in the NBA. It is information on the how much the players have been fined and what they have been fined for.
NBA is leading the campaign as they are telling the information of the fines. Three Golden State players are involved Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and Steph Curry. As these were the players being fined for criticizing the referees.
The PR tool that is being used is use of celebrities as the three famous NBA players are involved. They are involved as the article is about them and the fines, they have received for criticizing the refs.
I google searched for this article, as I saw the game and the players complaining all game. I also heard the comments made by the players, so I was interested to find out how the NBA was going to handle the players.
This was an affective article as it gave clear information on how much the players were fined and for the reason they were fined. As they had different reasons for being fined. They got the message across straight away and it’s what fans would want to hear if they were looking for this.

Week 4
My PR activity this week is a picture opportunity of some of the Richmond Football Club players wearing new Richmond merchandise.
Richmond Football Club is leading this campaign as it is their merchandise they are selling. They have a few players in the photos wearing the new clothes and they are Dustin Martin, Tom Lynch, Nick Vlastuin, Laura Bailey and Alice Edmonds. Richmond’s sponsor Puma are also included in the pictures. The Richmond shop was tagged in the post as well.
The major PR tools that are being used are picture opportunity and the use of celebrities, as the Richmond Football Club players are in the pictures. This connects with the fans as they see their heroes wearing the clothes, they will want to buy the same clothes to dress the same as their heroes.
I saw this picture article on my Instagram feed as I follow the Richmond Football club. As they had multiple photos, I swiped across to see all 6 of the photos.
I thought this PR activity was smart, as they had the Richmond Football Club players wearing the new merchandise. This then makes the fans feel more connected as they know that the clothes, they buy are also worn by the some of the players. It’s also good for puma to get brand out as they have their logo on the clothes, therefor this could help expand the brand.

Week 3
This PR activity is an article promoting the event of Andrew Bogut’s return to NBA team Golden State Warriors. After finishing the NBL season with the Sydney Kings, Andrew Bogut got a standing ovation from the warriors’ fans when he checked in for the Golden State Warriors for the first time this NBA season.
The article has been written by a NEWS.com journalist, but it is being led by the Golden State Warriors including the coach Steve Kerr. The Warriors home stadium Oracle arena gets mentioned as well.
The major PR tools that are being used are Press Conference and use of celebrities. As the video of Steve Kerr talking about Bogut in a pre-game press conference is used and quotes of Steve Kerr about Bogut is used in the article.
I saw this article on the google news feed as I typed in Andrew Bogut NBA return, as I was trying to find news articles about his return to the NBA. I engaged with this article by reading it and watching the press conference video that was included.
This PR activity was good for the Golden State Warriors and Andrew Bogut as it helps them get more fans from the people that like and follow Andrew Bogut. It also gives out a good reputation for Andrew Bogut as it is a positive article about him.

The PR activity that is being analysed is the Australian men’s cricket team beating the Indian cricket team for the first time in a series over in India.
Leading this article is Fox Sports, as they have a broadcasting deal with cricket Australia and show all their games. Usman Khawaja is also involved as he has been quoted in the article.
The major PR tools being used is media relations as there is an article that is written by a journalist at fox sports and picture opportunity is used as there are pictures of the players in the article.
I saw this article on the Fox Sports website, I was scrolling through the home page of their website and saw this article and wanted to have a read of it, as I am interested in cricket. The picture they had was also engaging as it was the team together holding up the trophy they just won. I engaged with this article by reading it and looking at the pictures.
I thought this PR activity was good, as it shows that the Australian cricket team has become successful for the first time in the while. It will also get more people back to watching cricket as the team has finally become successful since the ball tampering and shows that the team is moving into a brighter future. For Fox Sports as more people may be into the cricket now as the team is successful they may get subscriptions to Foxtel just to watch the cricket team play.

The Public Relations activity that is being analyzed is the announcement of St Kilda Football Club player Dylan Roberton announcing that he will miss the 2019 AFL season, due to his heart conditions.
St Kilda Football Club is leading this PR activity with their player Dylan Roberton, as he is the player that is going to miss the 2019 AFL season due to heart conditions.
The PR tools that are being used are picture opportunity and news release, as they have pictures of Dylan Roberton and the reasons to why he will not be playing in the 2019 AFL season. The pictures that are included are pictures of Dylan Roberton looking sad whilst he is playing. There are also quotes from the St Kilda Football Club Coach Alan Richardson.
I saw this PR activity on my Facebook feed, as I have liked St Kilda Football Club on Facebook so therefore their posts come up on feed with a link .The title ‘Roberton to miss 2019 season’ caught my attention as I wanted to know why he was going to miss the 2019 season.
I thought this PR activity was useful as it would let the AFL and Saints fans know that Dylan Roberton is going to miss the 2019 AFL season and why he is going to miss the season. The pictures used helped to get people to feel emotional for Roberton as well, which may get more people to support St Kilda. They also included the membership link at the bottom of the article, to convince fans to join the membership to make them feel that will support the club and Dylan Roberton if they do this.
