Thinks he can rule the world single-handedly through fear and a magic notebook. It Does Not End Well.

He kills people for years thinking he's serving justice but really he just ends up serving himself and his ego. Gets so sure of himself that he thinks he's untouchable and that no one could possibly outsmart him (spoiler alert: someone does). Literally thinks he's a god. Spoiler: Gets killed by an actual god because said god just couldn’t be bothered to wait around for him to die anymore.

He decides he should be the God of the New World and that justifies killing whoever he likes for the 'greater good'. This eventually leads to his downfall; Light my baby my skrunkly my most awfulest man ever. If you've been on the internet for more than five minutes you probably already know why he's here but like. He is mister hubris. He is nothing but hubris. He kills people and its okay! Because he's god :) Haven't you heard :) God doesn't have to follow laws. Or rules. Or be a decent human being. And if you say he's wrong then well. You're evil! The way he thinks is so fucked up i want to put him in a jar.

mr thinks he knows everything & is better than everyone gets a magic notebook that lets him kill people from any distance as long as he knows their face and name. decides that means he's god now and kills criminals and people he decides are criminals (including people who were given verdicts of "not guilty"). when someone goes on tv and says he's evil his first instinct is to kill that person instead of, like, taking five seconds to go "is this bait?" (it was bait). he ends the series pathetic and bleeding out because it turns out god isn't immune to bullets.

Daedalus warns Icarus not to fly too high or the sun will melt his wings, and not too low or his wings will get wet from the sea mist. But Icarus gets basically caught up in an adrenaline high, and enraptured by the beauty and light of the Sun, tries to fly even higher. His wings melt and he, unfortunately, falls to his death. Propaganda why Kazuya Kinoshita is insufferable:

Pathetic loser who never grows as a character and drags down the lives of the girls around him because he’s so selfish

Bland boring loser gets a whole bunch of cute girls to actually fall in love with him by being an absolute pissant go away challenge

After his girlfriend dumps him, Kazuya hires a rent-a-girlfriend (basically a sex worker without the actual sex) to accompany him on a date. They have a great time together and go their separate ways. Afterwards when he goes to leave a review, he sees all the other good reviews and gets jealous because she's being hired by other men, and leaves a one-star review out of spite. This is his starting point and he barely gets better, constantly making his personal issues other people's problem.

Propaganda why Rintaro Okabe is insufferable:

He's sexist: he feels ashamed to be in the same lab as Kurisu, a genius, so he spends his time saying sexual jokes to embarass her. He is super annoying with his complotist larping. Why wouldn't he shut up? (Actually he shuts up at the middle at the story, the point where it becomes good).

Also transphobic stuff (the "but he's a boy" joke... *aaaaaaargh*).

His voice is so grating and is the reason I didn’t want to watch the show.

Because Kurisu, a scientific genius girl, challenges his authority in his flat, he regularly humiliates her by telling sexual things she finds embarassing.

Plus there is some other sexist and transphobic stuff I don't need to go into.

I know in the second half of the story he loses his mask and actually show his vulnerable and caring side. But gosh, he is so unbearable in the first half!

Propaganda why Anakin Skywalker is insufferable:

It's less about his character and more about the way ppl talk about him and narrative around him in a lot of current stuff. The way everyone try to bend over backwards to prove how his reasons to turn Darth Vader were somehow noble or good when almost every single bad guy in Star Wars (expect Palpatine and that guy who taught him) have much more sympathetic history and reasons and how he's not a bad person bc he cried a few times while doing atrocities. And how everyone else gets the blame for all his shortcomings ('they did it but never taught him!!!' -he literally parrotos this same lessons to his own student, it's obvious he knows better but chooses to not apply to himself anything that is slightly uncomfortable to him). oh man. i've had enough of this duckboy (as the protag, he's tolerable in yj and stuff.) like when tim is the protag every character in the story becomes Worse. lady shiva gets nerfed. steph is turned into jealous hormonal catfight girl. helena is dumbified and too womanly to function (they have a nice dynamic as long as tim isn't the protag). cassie and tim were great in yj98, but as soon as he is The Protag then she is his best friend's girlfriend and they're barely friends anymore. cass is turned into a rapist. dick is turned into a lazy mediocre robin. jason turns into fucky wucky dumb brute yaoi stalker boyfriend who is suddenly obsessed with tim's awesome skills. 10 y.o. damian somehow deserves to be put on a hitlist because he's a savage and tim is civilized. His definitive writer is a conservative Republican. His series is full of moral PSAs, *dumb* *hormonal* girls getting into catfights over him, and blatant sexism and racism. He gives anti-marijuana speeches to a standing ovation, he lectures about how babies need a father and a mother, and sex is for marriage. Other characters suddenly become stupid around him so that he looks smart. The other characters talk about how he is the best, nicest, smartest Robin ever and ALL the others were dumber and meaner than he is, even the one that mentored him. He as a grown adult man is canonically still bitter about ""his"" child sidekick role being given to an actual child (fans pretend he is the victim of this on both sides—nope he's the adult fighting a child for the child sidekick role, no adult wanted to replace him). Did I mention that this character is the amazing pure white boy, and his 10-year-old successor is painted as a savage Arab terrorist who needs to be put in his place? T*m is a 5'9""+ adult grown man, not a delicate sensitive baby boy.

Propaganda why Peter Pan is insufferable:

Never growing up isn't charming, it's harmful and irritating. The story isn't about Peter Pan, it's about Wendy, who has to realize she can't be a successful mother to someone who refuses to learn or grow. Book Peter is even worse than the movie or stage musical--he kills his own Lost Boys just for fun and forgets about it immediately.

He finds physical harm amusing and sees it as just a game. Then he braggs with the suffering he inflicted on his victims.

I hate Hook more but Peter Pan was a little shit who just let a bunch of shit happen to Wendy for no reason

Turned a Jewish Romani character into a woman from a Fictional Eastern European country, plus she wore a cross necklace.

Brainwashed and tortured an entire town and got no punishment because she felt bad and ran away.

Imprisoned, mind controlled, and traumatized an entire town but received no punishment because OBVIOUSLY she was the REAL victim.

Her sins:

1. Main character of one of the worse live action adaptions I’ve ever seen

He pulled strings to be put on the crew and is kind of an ass to everybody

In the second book/movie, he's a huge jerk to Hal 9000, a character who technically didn't do anything wrong (he killed his crew in the first book/movie because of conflicting orders) Orders that Floyd claims to not know about....despite his signature being on them.

Also, he just sucks as a husband and father (in the 2010 movie, his kid actually sounds disappointed when Floyd says he won't die on his space mission) There's literally no reason I should root for this guy, (Hal ends up being the hero of the story in 2010 book/movie).

In 2061, he drinks water from a comet and.....let's just say it screws with his insides......and he's so insufferable, I laughed about it (as did people on two Discord servers, and it's now kind of a meme there)

Kind of smug and doesn't address his own flaws or the consequences of his own actions

He's smug and kind of an ass and says nothing was his fault when his signature was on the mission plan. An important plot is he put a cutoff switch in the ship's computer without asking anybody in a setting where a computer shutdown is Really Bad. He hides it from the crew and we are told this is heroic.

Propaganda why Aang is insufferable:

He has some very bad ideas that the narrative never explores and gets rewarded by the narrative for bad behavior.

Mostly just the way he deals with his crush on Katara and kind of forces it on her. It’s honestly really shitty because she never truly reciprocated his feelings and had plenty of moments where she shows she’s just trying not to hurt his feelings with a straight up rejection, but ends up with him in the end just because that’s what he wanted.

Like we know what it looks like when Katara actually has a crush on someone, she wouldn’t let the situation like the war affect how she feels about demonstrating those feelings when she’s so in touch with them. Like how she was with Jet and Haru. I just wish the writing team did a better job of showing Katara developing feelings for Aang way better than they did lol.

Made a series that was otherwise reasonably tolerable impossible to watch. I hate that all the jokes written for his character target 8-year-olds exclusively. Also his little TV show keeps appearing on my dash no matter how many words I block and I hate it

Propaganda why Gregory is insufferable:

This boy is so poorly written, it hurts. In the gameplay, he just acts annoyed and pissed off the whole time. Then, in the endings, he becomes a whole other character who acts scared and sad, which does not match the previous hours of gameplay AT ALL

But that just annoyed me

What really made me hate him was the GGY and Robot Gregory stuff, because OH NO, Gregory could not just be a normal kid who got into this situation by chance, he has to be a robotic recreation of the Crying Child, despite not acting one bit like CC, or, according to the GGY story in the books, he's responsible for multiple murders and is Afton's/the Mimic's apprentice.

Just let this kid be fucking normal!

(Also, unlike a lot of people, I really enjoy what the Ruin DLC did to his character. And don't try to say that's still the mimic, the mimic recycles dialog from the main game. This Gregory uses completely unique dialog, and unless the mimic was able to form new words in his voice all of a sudden, that's still him. He had to make a tough decision, one life or over hundreds and I can respect that)

Suffers from being made into another one of Matpat's ""is actually a robot theory"". It is annoying as hell, especially if its canon. We do not need robot children theories in a game about possession, child murder and serial killers. Especially not dumb theories about him being a 'recreation' of someone with a completely different personality. It has completely ruined any enjoyment I had in that character because we're just going back to the Afton family again

Someone made a good point about how his personality seems to be reminiscent of a certain trend where a video game protagonist has to be snarky even though it would’ve worked better for the horror atmosphere if he was more scared because it would’ve made the player feel his fear. I recall people being surprised about his personality and expecting him to be more scared, and I assume the developers were just afraid of ppl calling Gregory “whiny”, but it still feels like a missed opportunity

You can't have people portray what she did as heroic or healthy. She is not a good role model people. She needs therapy, not be any child's role model

I legit got into several fights with people who thought she was 'great depression representation!'. As someone who's been suicidal off and on through life, I hated this stupid cartoon princess. 'Let It Go is a self empowering anthem!' shut up it's a song about leaving all her responsibilities behind, not caring about the repercussions of her actions to the point she's putting everyone in horrible danger with a sudden, unending winter. There's a reason why she's the villain in the original version of the story, and even was the villain in this version until it was reworked later. Girl, go to therapy for your anxiety issues. The power of sisterhood can only do so much for you and that winter probably killed people

Name ONE personality trait of hers that isn't either (a) only conveyed through Let It Go, or (b) negative in some way (e.g. ""independent"" is actually a hurtful trait in context)

Also her design is bland and a massive downgrade from the early concept art

She uses a love spell and it turns out it wasn't super duper wrong

She’s very selfish throughout the trilogy, and though she has redeeming moments, she never seems to actually grow beyond doing what she’s always done. In the first movie she manipulates Jane into stealing the wand by telling her that she’s ugly. Then at the end she condescendingly tells Jane’s mom not to be “too hard on her” and tells Jane she’s “beautiful inside and out,” instead of fully owning up to the fact that it was all her fault. Almost the exact same thing happens in 3 when she FINALLY tells Audrey, “I’ve owed you an apology for a long time” (without actually apologizing), only to then tell everyone else that it was all Audrey’s fault and she was only saved by the ~grace and generosity~ of Mal’s father Hades. This isn’t even getting into Mal’s treatment of Uma, especially in 2. The racial politics of Mal being a white girl who constantly belittles and antagonizes Black girls like Audrey and Uma really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I get that him being insufferable is a big part of the show and I think that it's done very well but that still means he sucks. He has done so many shitty things to do many people throughout his life, but a lot of the time, he refuses to take proper accountability for it, either finding a way to deflect or, what I feel is more frequent, just accepting that he's a shitty person for it and wallowing in self hate instead of properly working on himself. Season 6 is thankfully a point where he properly decides to change, but he does still suck a lot beforehand, and those tendencies are still part of him, causing them to be put on display later (ie. The second Xerox of a.Xerox interview). He's just somebody who fucks people over and takes a long time to be willing to change enough to not fuck the next person in his life over

It annoys me to watch this man succeed despite majorly messing up all the time in ways that would get him caught/killed. The premise of his character is interesting enough: a very intelligent man so completely drenched in toxic masculinity and pride that he continuously sabotages himself and ends up in ethical dilemmas because he couldn't accept help. I usually like villain protagonists and complex characters who girlboss too close to the sun, but after Walter fully embraces his role as a career criminal he becomes so one-dimensional I can't seem to care about his problems anymore. (The other characters really carry the show.) Also it feels unrealistic how much everyone lets him get away with for "being smart" and that nobody hates him enough to turn him in.

She uses a love spell and it turns out it wasn't super duper wrong

She’s very selfish throughout the trilogy, and though she has redeeming moments, she never seems to actually grow beyond doing what she’s always done. In the first movie she manipulates Jane into stealing the wand by telling her that she’s ugly. Then at the end she condescendingly tells Jane’s mom not to be “too hard on her” and tells Jane she’s “beautiful inside and out,” instead of fully owning up to the fact that it was all her fault. Almost the exact same thing happens in 3 when she FINALLY tells Audrey, “I’ve owed you an apology for a long time” (without actually apologizing), only to then tell everyone else that it was all Audrey’s fault and she was only saved by the ~grace and generosity~ of Mal’s father Hades. This isn’t even getting into Mal’s treatment of Uma, especially in 2. The racial politics of Mal being a white girl who constantly belittles and antagonizes Black girls like Audrey and Uma really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Propaganda why Aang is insufferable:

He has some very bad ideas that the narrative never explores and gets rewarded by the narrative for bad behavior.

Mostly just the way he deals with his crush on Katara and kind of forces it on her. It’s honestly really shitty because she never truly reciprocated his feelings and had plenty of moments where she shows she’s just trying not to hurt his feelings with a straight up rejection, but ends up with him in the end just because that’s what he wanted.

Like we know what it looks like when Katara actually has a crush on someone, she wouldn’t let the situation like the war affect how she feels about demonstrating those feelings when she’s so in touch with them. Like how she was with Jet and Haru. I just wish the writing team did a better job of showing Katara developing feelings for Aang way better than they did lol.

Made a series that was otherwise reasonably tolerable impossible to watch. I hate that all the jokes written for his character target 8-year-olds exclusively. Also his little TV show keeps appearing on my dash no matter how many words I block and I hate it

Propaganda why Gregory is insufferable:

This boy is so poorly written, it hurts. In the gameplay, he just acts annoyed and pissed off the whole time. Then, in the endings, he becomes a whole other character who acts scared and sad, which does not match the previous hours of gameplay AT ALL

But that just annoyed me

What really made me hate him was the GGY and Robot Gregory stuff, because OH NO, Gregory could not just be a normal kid who got into this situation by chance, he has to be a robotic recreation of the Crying Child, despite not acting one bit like CC, or, according to the GGY story in the books, he's responsible for multiple murders and is Afton's/the Mimic's apprentice.

Just let this kid be fucking normal!

(Also, unlike a lot of people, I really enjoy what the Ruin DLC did to his character. And don't try to say that's still the mimic, the mimic recycles dialog from the main game. This Gregory uses completely unique dialog, and unless the mimic was able to form new words in his voice all of a sudden, that's still him. He had to make a tough decision, one life or over hundreds and I can respect that)

Suffers from being made into another one of Matpat's ""is actually a robot theory"". It is annoying as hell, especially if its canon. We do not need robot children theories in a game about possession, child murder and serial killers. Especially not dumb theories about him being a 'recreation' of someone with a completely different personality. It has completely ruined any enjoyment I had in that character because we're just going back to the Afton family again

Someone made a good point about how his personality seems to be reminiscent of a certain trend where a video game protagonist has to be snarky even though it would’ve worked better for the horror atmosphere if he was more scared because it would’ve made the player feel his fear. I recall people being surprised about his personality and expecting him to be more scared, and I assume the developers were just afraid of ppl calling Gregory “whiny”, but it still feels like a missed opportunity

As the player you have major control over him, but no matter the path I found him exhausting and hugely irritating as a protagonist. For some reason the fandom adores him but there were so many more interesting characters than him (Ruby 🥺)

Propaganda why Heywood Floyd is insufferable:

He pulled strings to be put on the crew and is kind of an ass to everybody

In the second book/movie, he's a huge jerk to Hal 9000, a character who technically didn't do anything wrong (he killed his crew in the first book/movie because of conflicting orders) Orders that Floyd claims to not know about....despite his signature being on them.

Also, he just sucks as a husband and father (in the 2010 movie, his kid actually sounds disappointed when Floyd says he won't die on his space mission) There's literally no reason I should root for this guy, (Hal ends up being the hero of the story in 2010 book/movie).

In 2061, he drinks water from a comet and.....let's just say it screws with his insides......and he's so insufferable, I laughed about it (as did people on two Discord servers, and it's now kind of a meme there)

Kind of smug and doesn't address his own flaws or the consequences of his own actions

He's smug and kind of an ass and says nothing was his fault when his signature was on the mission plan. An important plot is he put a cutoff switch in the ship's computer without asking anybody in a setting where a computer shutdown is Really Bad. He hides it from the crew and we are told this is heroic.

Her sins:

1. Main character of one of the worse live action adaptions I’ve ever seen

2. Not like other girls x1000- she likes ✨reading books✨ and ✨going to vintage stores✨ and gets in a fight with her mom about how she doesn’t go to parties and have friends like a ✨basic bitch✨

3. Gets so mad at her mom that she loses control of her powers and nearly kills her parents in a fire

4. A guy told her she was going the wrong way to get to class and she accused him of “mansplaining”

5. Shitty and boring fashion sense, little to no bright colors and not a single glittery top

6. Season one “Transformation” is just a dozen different camera angles of her awkwardly floating with cgi fire around her

7. I didn’t watch season two, but a friend who did told me she develops a savior complex and has an unnecessary amount of make out scenes at random times

Bloom (and entire show) is written like the director gave a middle aged conservative man $100 to write what he thought “woke” teens would like.

Protagonist centered morality, slutshames other girls but has a lot of boys herself including one who raped someone else (I think at least)

She’s presented as being the perfect person to replace a bully character in a position of power because she’s such a good and pure person, and every book it’s nothing but her calling people the R slur, or sluts, or freaks, or various slurs against gay people, or talking out loud about how ugly her classmates are with her friends, or saying that certain people shouldn’t be allowed to breed if they’re too useless or gross, or saying gay men are basically women, or differentiating between which gay people are the good kind or the bad kind based on how annoying she thinks they are. And then after all of that is established in the first book, by the second she’s pushing two racist caricatures of black men in front of a truck and kills them and it is never brought up again. And every book ends with her getting a magical tattoo no one in history has ever gotten, confirming that she is canonically one of the best people to ever be alive even after murdering two people for annoying her

Propaganda why Peter Pan is insufferable:

Never growing up isn't charming, it's harmful and irritating. The story isn't about Peter Pan, it's about Wendy, who has to realize she can't be a successful mother to someone who refuses to learn or grow. Book Peter is even worse than the movie or stage musical--he kills his own Lost Boys just for fun and forgets about it immediately.

He finds physical harm amusing and sees it as just a game. Then he braggs with the suffering he inflicted on his victims.

I hate Hook more but Peter Pan was a little shit who just let a bunch of shit happen to Wendy for no reason

Brainwashed and tortured an entire town and got no punishment because she felt bad and ran away.

A lot of this has already been covered in anti Wanda circles but the speed run version is that she volunteered to be experimented on by Hydra, became a villain for them, murdered a bunch of people, felt worse about the “death” of her chatbot sex toy than about literally anything else that happened, ENSLAVED A CITY TO PLAY OUT HER CHATBOT SEX TOY FANTASY (and not for nothing, this prominently included enslaving a Black woman), tried to girlbossify said enslavement, then tried to brutally murder a girl of color in exchange for making her 100% fictional, never-existed-in-the-first place, vibrators-don’t-have-semen-so-how-was-this-supposed-to-work “children,” who didn’t even like her in her fantasy hallucination and who could blame them.
