Who else hates Pinterest?
Seriously. Pinterest is where attribution goes to die. Friend shared a really nice fan art of Duncan from Dragon Age this morning. It’s been pinned 15 times apparently and for the life of me I cannot find the artist (reverse image search is failing me). I don’t think it’s appropriate to upload the image here, so I’ll just link it: direct image - Duncan, on Pinterest. This has happened to me countless times and it’s frustrating, can’t imagine what it’s like for artists. Reckon you have to just ignore it because what else can you do?
I dislike Pinterest for knitting reasons as well, but don’t feel like getting deep into it. Needless to say: why the hell would you search Pinterest when Ravelry has Advanced Search and you won’t run into stolen patterns there.

Knitting another shawl again. This time with lace weight ultrafine mohair/silk blend: You Knit I Dye Kid Mohair Silk. A very good friend gave this to me for Christmas...along with a lot of other yarn. O_O Weirdly generous, but it was a shitty year and I think she was overcompensating and I was one of the few people who she got to see in person in 2020 as she was quite isolated for safety (she has asthma and then they found out her husband had a tumor requiring brain surgery...so yeah. Surgery went well! Just took 12 hours o.o)
Lake Mist by Rosemary Hill.
And the shawl from my last post. I forgot to share the completed photo.
And a pair of socklettes:
My brother's Christmas socks:
(^^^ wtf?! The second picture is being flipped 180 degrees for no fecking reason. And the app doesn't seem to have an option to rotate images, nice. Thanks, tumblr.)
My aunt's Christmas socks (with bonus cat):
I finished remarkably few projects last year, oh well.

Wanted a nice bright picture of my knitting in my basket and well...the weather disagreed and it's raining. Pffff
Anyway, a friend dyed this yarn for me for my birthday. Makes me think of vintage/faded teal and gold brocade.
Pattern is Wilson Wrap (free!) by Cheryl Toy.
And why am I knitting a free pattern when I could buy a pattern to support a designer? In this instance, to be honest, I didn't find any patterns I liked, free or not, until I ran into this one. I wanted a pattern to show off the colors, not be full of texture. So I was looking for a field of garter or, preferably, stockinette. And not a simple triangle shawl that requires no pattern at all. I wanted a different shape (crescent) and something with interest and this pattern provides it: double yarnovers and a lace edge.
And this designer has a lot of designs, many of which are for purchase. So go take a look! https://www.ravelry.com/designers/cheryl-toy

To be specific Bull is wearing an AFO, an ankle-foot orthosis. :)
(My mother has been wearing AFOs on both legs since she was a teenager. And Bull’s is more like hers were back in the day: metal and attached directly to a leather soled shoe.)
Today’s disabled character of the day is Iron Bull from the Dragon Age: Inquisition, who is visually impaired, an amputee, and wears a leg brace for an unspecified condition.
