A/N: I KNOW I’M LATE BY LIKE A WEEK SHHHHHH. Real life got in the way, hhhh… Also, this one got long man… I’d say sorry, but I’m not. I like the idea of Zero/Infinite being able to use the Phantom Ruby to a degree, so I wanted to explore that in this. Hope you all enjoy this as a Valentine’s Day gift instead! I guess I should rate this as PG-13? Since there’s some cussing and stuff.

Infinadow Week Day 1: Redemption

“Have you been to Mystic Forest lately?”

Rouge’s words echoed throughout Shadow’s mind, practically dripping with a new tone, one he had not at first noticed when Rouge initially asked him that question. He had assumed that she was indirectly telling him to take a break from work again; he thought she was telling him to go visit Big.

He liked visiting his purple friend, and Rouge was right to remind him to drop by, because it had been quite a while. What, with the post-war reconstruction, it was easy for him to lose track of time. Yet, he was sure now that she had most definitely been referring to something else.

The hedgehog’s quills stood on end, sharp as they could possibly get. No matter how hard he tried, he could not calm himself down, not even with Big sitting right next to him. The problem was the person sitting across from him.

Day 2: AU/Canon

Up above, the red and orange and yellow horizon suffered muffling from dusty clouds of rising smoke. All the clouds had cleared, making way for fire’s aftermath. The otherwise gorgeous sky had been muted by the greys and browns of destruction and cancer. The effects of industry? No, the effects of tyranny, war, and torment. As the sun set, hellfire rose. Down below, the ruins of a recently burned down city defined the landscape. Further along, the fire was still spreading- the resistance hadn’t been able to put it all out yet. Flames that didn’t actually exist were harder to extinguish, and yet just as destructive! The charred path that the flames left behind was evident, for only ash-covered stone and burned bodies remained littering the ground. In between, there were two figures still standing. Some of the buildings were made of stone, and such was the one that the two villains resided atop. One stood, the taller of the two, while the shorter one sat on the edge, legs dangling over the ground below. They seemed at ease, despite the chaos that they had no doubt witnessed.

A/N: Hey, I kinda feel like some of us just kinda ignore how canon implies that Shadow might have killed the Jackal Squad, so I just… *soft shoes away awkwardly* There are mentions of death in this, so reader discretion advised. I can’t call this shippy, but I felt like it had to be addressed between these two before I could move onto the other prompts. Also this one is… long, so buckle in.

Mun I um… had to skip day 1, but that’s only because day 1 is a 3 page comic. I’ll get it done but it may be finished later than expected. Though don’t expect clean lines this time around. I’mma be doing most, if not all, the Infinadow week drawings in this sketchy style.
