I'm hetero but I have a tendency to fetishize gay male characters sometimes and I hate it. I know it's a sin, but also even the gay community would be mad at me for fettishizing them. It's like a lose, lose situation on every side. Pray for me if you have a moment. ♡

You know I remember a moment I held Shiro (from Voltron) at an idol position.

I would draw him, I would read fan fictions on him, lots of other things… *ahem*

Anyways, when I came stronger in my faith I told God I’d choose him over Shiro if I had to.

And guess what. God put me to the test.

Shiro came out as gay and I was DEVASTATED. But I knew I had to let it go. I couldn’t worship sin. I couldn’t accept him, I had to let him go.

So I chose God over Shiro.

Here’s the thing; interests come and go, they’ll change overtime, but God will always stay the same. He’ll always be there.

Okay this is the follow up to this post of the sorts of personalities I'd give the Lions and their relationships to their Paladins

Some of the ideas for Lions I have are clearer than others but in my head I want to establish the way I see the team piloting the Lions is

So when flying, the way the Paladin interacts with the Lion is more like the co-piloting Pacific Rim in the sense that it requires the Lion and the Paladin to do things by melding their minds (similar to how it would work when they became Voltron) and the two have to be in sync to a degree and work together to fly (the Lions occasionally have the ability to travel alone but its a little more dangerous for them to and they have less finetuning to their flying, its not as simple as the lion just autopiloting everywhere. They have the ability to communicate and have opinions and agree/disagree with their pilots, so its important for the two to understand each other and their values and what they will and won't do)

(Also important is that I'm writing this from the idea of it taking a season to find the Lions so it obviously won't be following canon but it's more an idea of how I'd approach the Lions)

First up, as she's the first Lion we interact with, we have the Blue Lion:

The Blue Lion is honestly quite similar to Lance in personality which likely contributes to why I see him being one of the team to very quickly begin understanding his Lion and adapt to communicating with her very openly as the sentient ship she is. She is friendly, one of the Lions that communicates the most, and is fun-loving, with the same occasional reckless streak that Lance can have, and can be competitive like him too.

But one major difference I would want him and his Lion to have is that he is more logically focused internally than she is. While Lance will more focus on the logical outcome of a decision, whether a plan is feasible, whether people can be trusted or not, the Blue Lion is more morality focused. Lance is by no means without morals, but if it comes to a decision between them, he will rely more on the more logical answer. The Blue Lion very staunchly is on the side of doing what is right and good, sometimes becoming too idealistic about what she can do and noticeably dropping in mood if she can't achieve it or convince Lance to.

Another difference, is that while the Blue Lion is prone to being her most authentic self, being deeply confused by hiding any of her real thoughts or feelings about ant matter, Lance very much starts the show not. I want this to be a difference because I want this aspect of their relationship explored further. Lance is a character who has grown up believing his authentic self for whatever reason is not the version people want, and plays up aspects or hides them altogether to create an image of the sort of person he believes people want from him.

We see at the start of the show that this causes him lots of problems - the further rivalry with Keith born from his jealousy and insecurity that Keith is the person that people like Iverson wanted him to live up to, his difficult friendship with Allura, often flirting with her under the belief that she's a very beautiful woman and that this is what he's supposed to do despite wanting a friendship with her, most of his defensiveness in response to criticism of him - the way he sees it is that as long as he's this person, it can't hurt as much cause what are criticisms of a person that isn't really him gonna hurt.

Obviously the trouble with this is it does hurt him, and that cause people other Hunk most of the time don't understand this about him, the mask he puts on and who he is really is indistinguishable as being different.

The Blue Lion will often encourage him to be more honest with himself while he will often try to ground her more idealistic hopes in something more reality based. Importantly though, Lance is one of the first out of the team to respond to Blue like she is sentient, to him, understanding her is as important as understanding other people, know what they want from him and because she is very friendly and open, she and him are fast friends and she is often prone to going along with Lance's shenanigans

The next Lion is the next one we find which for the sake of how this series would work I decided it would be good to find on the Balmera is The Yellow Lion

I think another thing to note about Blue and about some of the Lions is that to a degree some of the Lions will remind the Paladins of people who have been quite integral to their growth as people, the Blue Lion specifically in personality reminding him occasionally how his twin Rachel can be with him as she is similarly friendly, idealistic, funny and outgoing

Now the Yellow Lion is quite similar to Hunk too, but their main difference is Hunk's sometimes lack of confidence and belief in his ability to handle shit and the Yellow Lions Unshakeable faith that things will turn out okay. They both thorough and people oriented planners and share a lot of their values but while Hunk often worries about the most negative outcome becoming true, the Yellow Lion is always certain something positive could come of it. Hunk fears initially at the start whether he or others should become directly involved and its in finding the Yellow Lion that he becomes assured that this is the right path.

Another difference is that the Yellow Lion is a lot more intuitively minded than Hunk. He likes to make decisions based on what he knows in front of him and often isn't very receptive to the potentials especially if they seem to good to be true, while the Yellow Lion often wants him to engage with him in the potential positives for the future. Hunk becomes more realistic than pessimistic while the Yellow Lion learns to listen and takes his concerns seriously.

The Yellow Lion often laugh together and sometimes the Yellow Lion if he thinks one of the team did something funny will often communicate that to Hunk and they'll laugh together. Hunk also will confide a lot with the Yellow Lion, and he works to be that open in response to Hunk, too.

Also in terms of being able to communicate with not Paladins or the other Paladins, the Yellow Lion will for the sake of his paladin is the most likely to reach out and cast a wide net for help for him, sometimes rumbling in Lance's mind if he thinks Hunk needs him or if he's in danger nearby Shay, will reach out to her and will even let her fly him if he thinks it will protect his paladin.

Now, with the next Lion, we find I'm saying on the Olkari and the Lion that I think arguably has the conflict or tension with their paladin, The Green Lion

This Lion also frequently in terms of personality reminds him of Shay.

The Green Lion differs from Pidge in a very major aspect, one that reminds her of her brother, which is that while just as intelligent as Pidge in terms of quickness and knowledge, the Green Lion is more emotionally intelligent. The big difference being if the two were asked to choose between being smart or being kind, Pidge would pick smart and the Green Lion would pick kind. The two often butt heads in regards to Pidges difficulty with acknowledging their sentience and the potential they have to offer her were they both to work together. Podge has spent much of her life working alone and eventually choosing this for herself and through people like the team but more specifically Hunk and her brother, she learns to try and connect with them on a more personal level.

Another difference is that Pidge is a lot more impulsive, thinks on the spot, leaves things to the last second, while the Green will often encourage (or if Pidge is being particularly stubborn, will insist) that she slow down, breathe and plan before making the next move.

The Green Lion themselves can be stubborn and struggles themselves with focusing more on the logical, especially if it seems cruel or unfair but sometimes they have to relinquish when Pidge is right and when it's time to focus more on the more logical side of things.

As stated before, I want this Lion to be quite similar to Matt, Pidges brother, because I also like this difference in their sibling dynamic too.

Now we get to the second most conflicted dynamic and the fourth Lion recovered - the Red Lion

Also in the vain of often disagreeing but being a lot like Matt, the Green Lion will, rather than always outright disagreeing, will passive aggressively complain to Pidge if they think a decision she made was bad or stupid or inconsiderate and will often prank Pidge or be involved in shenanigans with Lance to get back at Pidge. They have the sort of the dynamic where they can insult or threaten each other while quite safe in the knowledge that they do both care about each other and often don't mean anything serious by it.

Now, the Red Lion often reminds Keith a little of Adam in the sense that while she will appear usually on the same wavelength as Keith in terms of improvising, looking at things as they are and being able to be very practical, their difference lies in Keith very much being more led by his values and emotions than Adam or the Red Lion. She is also the Lion most likely to outright refuse to do something if she believes her and Keith are out of sync in what they should do. Keith can often be led by what he very strongly feels is right or wrong and while both can be reckless and impulsive, the Red Lion herself is more likely to pull back if she believes Keith hasn't thought something through enough or is getting too emotional about a decision. The two have a hard time getting in sync but when they are, they work incredibly well together and learn to communicate on each other levels to ensure they're of the same mind about things.

The Red Lion quite often can be sarcastic or mischievous and if she thinks it'll mildy irritate Keith, will go along with other Paladins shenanigans if it doesn't require much effort on her part.

While she's the most likely to refuse to do something if she disagrees with it, if Keith is in danger emotionally or physically, she's incredibly loyal to him and will go to extreme lengths to protect him if she can, if she believes it will help and this is a dynamic they share.

Now the Black Lion is finally has a relationship with both Allura and Shiro but he's her first paladin out of the two so I'll discuss them first.

The Black Lion and Shiro are quite similar to each other and a lot of their bind is established in understanding those similarities and how to work with them, supporting each other in whatever will help from the two helping keep each other calm as best they can during episodes of panic or dissociating or helping to rally the team together. The Black Lion has difficulty trusting Shiro at first, the same way he distrusts her and his situation but both work together to trust each other, with the Black Lion often being quick to let him know if she thinks something is amiss or sharing information or history she deems important, being the first to let Shiro know about Zarkon being her last Paladin and what he did.

They are both moral, kind, outgoing and very good with people as well as intuitive. The Black Lion however is better at on the spot thinking, improvising, while Shiro isn't and she helps up for this.

They're very close and aside from Lance and Blue, they have the strongest bond and relationship with each other, with Shiro often spending a lot of free time with her and keeping her company, telling each other stories. They both also have a sense of humour about them, Black moreso and Shiro loves this, especially when she makes him laugh when he least expects it.

Now Alluras relationship with the Black Lion is different due to them being very different in thinking patterns with Allura being more introverted, plan oriented and seeing the small details rather than the big picture always. But after her relationship with Shiro, the Black Lion takes on initially a more mentor role with Allura, cause while Shiro and her learned together, Allura needs help catching up. When Allura worries about the circumstances, her ability to handle them, if she's relying on what makes sense rather than what's right, rhe Black Lion is good at helping ground her, helping her get her bearings and keeping her focused on the current moment and how improvise and decision make on the spot. The Black Lion and Allura help each other become more rounded leaders of Voltron, both with knowledge and expertise to offer each other and making up for the others differences to make a very well balanced team together.

The Black Lion often reminds both Allura and Shiro of Coran

If anyone has anything to add I'm happy to hear it. This is just what I have so far and I think it's clear that I have more established ideas for some lions than others and I want to expand on the Lions (Yellow, Red and Black) that have less to them. I think for Blue and Green I had very clear ideas of how they would push and grow alongside their Paladins

Here's a shenanigan that I won't be using in Batman's Biggest Hater, but I think it's really funny.

So, we all know that in canon, the Batman persona sometimes slips into the Brucie persona (not hugely, but it does on occasion). And I know we all love a good head canon where the vice versa happens.

Scenario: Pre ID Reveal. The JL are up on the Watchtower for a monthly briefing. Superman and Wonder Woman both know who Batman is, and Batman knows who they are. No one else does.

Just as the meeting has started Bruce gets a call that he'll have to answer as Brucie, but he can't answer in front of the JL. Luckily, he can get away with sending whoever it is to voicemail exactly once. If they call again, he'll have to take it. Unfortunately, whoever it is calls again, so Batman excuses himself and heads to his room on the Watchtower for some privacy.

Thirty minutes later, Batman still hasn't come back. Superman says that he's still on the phone and that it's an important phone call. Wonder Woman agrees and tries to get things moving along. The others know Batman has a civilian identity, but why would a phone call be taking this long? Green Arrow excuses himself to the bathroom and goes to check on Batman.

The door is closed but unlocked, probably because Bats didn't think he'd be in there that long. Green Arrow hears a voice on the other side that he's very familiar with, but it's not Batman's growl. Worried that someone snuck into the tower somehow, Green Arrow walks into the room.

Batman is still on the phone, but he's Brucie Wayne right now, not The Dark Knight: "Of course I will be there, hun! I wouldn't miss your birthday gala for the world!"

Oliver Queen went to school with Bruce Wayne. They dated for a little while in school. Green Arrow is a little bit frightened. He doesn't know what to do, so he stands there in shock as Bruce Wayne Batman jumps from topic to topic while on the phone with whoever this is for another ten minutes.

Batman knew he should've locked the door, but this is an amusing outcome, so he's not too upset. Regardless, he finished his phone call, but didn't slip back into his Batman mindset.

Green Arrow, still in shock and denial about what he's just discovered: "No. Say it isn't true. Bruce? Brucie? Is that...is that you?"

Batman, still in full Himbo Mode: "Ollie! It's about time you figured it out!"

Green Arrow, still reeling: "No."

Batman, being dramatic because this opportunity is too good to pass up: "Yes, Ollie Babe, it's true."

Green Arrow: "I've gotta be dreaming. This is absurd!"

Batman: "I know it is. But you wanna know the best part?"

Green Arrow, despite his better judgement, nods.

Batman leans in real close to his ear and whispers, "No one will ever believe you." He then kisses his cheek and leaves the room. They have a meeting to get back to.
