as much as i love broadway jack kelly (and i do adore that little motherfucker) i will always be disappointed that they took away all his little cowboy stuff
javid is so good because when they meet, they have some strongly held beliefs about themselves and the world around them. they need each other (despite claiming not to) because they refuse to let the other stagnate, fleshing out and completing each other's character arcs. jack spends most of the movie trying to run away from himself and his loneliness and towards santa fe, david sees right through his lies and calls him out on it; david loosens up and starts to wholeheartedly believe that political change is worth pursuing because of jack's influence. deeply romantic to me that their relationship is one that demands change, from the world around them, but also themselves
I went to see a local production of Newsies the other day (very good btw) and the guy playing Davey had a VERY string jawline and someone BOUGHT AN AD IN THE PROGRAM AND IT WAS A PICTURE OF HIM THAT SAID "MEWSIES OF MEW YORK" I FUCKING CAN'T
Once again thinking about how Jack "Love at first sight's for suckers" Kelly met Katherine and Davey on the same day and proceeded to immediately fall head over heels for both of them
