The past few weeks I have felt like I had been experiencing my own personal Mercury Retrograde. Today, I set an intention to see things in a different way. I wanted to see thing with a beginner's mind, like a child would. Then, the universe responded by bringing me to a car wash that had decor that reminded me of Santa Fe (my very first work trip alone- such good memories), and the pot at the end of the rainbow was a quarter machine with quartz crystals....I felt extreme childlike joy! 🌟 Thank you universe for that gift! 🌟 For you reading this, are your eyes open to the miracles and gifts from the universe? This year my parents would have celebrated their 40th anniversary. My plan was to send them to Spain, thanks to all those miles I accumulated over the past few years. . . . Sadly, my dad didn't make it one more year... but we took the trip. He may not have been there in person, but there were signs of him everywhere. My father was a man of details, and similarly, Spain is a country full of details and adornments...and on a few occasions, when we thought we were lost, we would get a sign to remind us we were on the right path. The magical roll continues! This is a bit of a #latergram but one I could not ignore. I ordered a Magick Snail Mail reading from @sagethemystic and I could not be more pleased! My father came from the land considered the home of Magical Realism 🇨🇴. I have often felt that many occurrences in my life have been acts of magic. In a recent coaching session with an awesome lightworker, @ros_place_guardian_angels , she reminded me of my connection to magic. . . . Then life hits: the new semester, homework, hurricane Irma, plain old life. I had moments that felt less than magic. And in those moments, all it took was a moment to stop, breathe, and remember we are all magic. Sometimes it takes a reminder at a bookstore, like the picture here. Signs are around us if you're willing to see them. It's all going to be more than ok...maybe not as we planned, but the magic is in you, if you choose to use it. This summer I celebrated being 13 years coffee free 🙅🏻☕️🎉 While they say everything is good in moderation, I abused coffee to the point of causing serious damage to my gut and digestive system. I detoxed cold turkey and experienced four days of withdrawal. It was painful, and one of the first real experiences for me that food is powerful and can act like a drug in our systems. Like most people I tried tea as a replacement but it wasn't for me. While completing my @nutritionschool certificate with in 2013, I discovered smoothies with superfoods and found it to be the right thing for me. That's the thing. You have to find what right for YOU. Go with your gut and make sure you're aligned with what feels right. Be gentle with yourself when something doesn't work. Learn to listen to your body and intuition. It's the best thing I ever did. Presence is a present. . #TBT to a simple time in Manhattan with @ilonacleopatra and my grandpa Carlos. Today would have been his birthday. When I think about the concept of gifts, nothing is more meaningful than the time you spend with loved ones. I would do anything to have one more chance to share time with my grandpa or father. This is our greatest gift as humans, not material things. Have you shared the gift of your presence with someone today? . People are talking so much crap these days. The past returns when you're not ready. Someone is transferring their stress to you and you inadvertently receive rather than deflect. The world seems to be falling apart. What ever is coming in through your ears, don't keep it if it doesn't belong to you. However, don't release it with the same unsettling vibes it came in with. Breathe into it, transmute the discomfort. Wish the other person(s) peace, and release it through your heart. Be the light in the dark. Use your heart not more bad vibes. It's a choice. Worry. What a F#$@*er! Ironic that research on the effects of stress on sleep would paralyze me with worry. I didn't lose sleep, but I did lose a LOT of moments where I should have been present. Stress can build resilience, worry invites chaos. Two days into the worry spell, this quote appeared, reminding me to release all the negative illusions I created regarding this assignment. A day later, I received a great grade on the assignment. Lesson? I worried for nothing! If you're reading this and worrying about something that is out of your control- release it. Right now! Go enjoy this day, take a moment to breathe, thank the universe for something good in your life...do whatever it takes to make you feel good. Stay in that feeling, because that feeling of love and gratitude is the only thing that should be real. 🙏🏼✨🌟💖
