ao'nung x omaticaya!avatar.
Summary: Norm's adoptive daughter goes with the Sully's, being treated differently due to her looks.
Warnings: Mention of blood and death.
Full Story! Series may happen!
Word Count: 1547.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Norm looked down at the Na'vi in his lab, as he glanced around at everyone that looked down along with him. He and Jake shared glances, as if they were talking with their minds.
"What happened?"
Jake asked curiously and Norm could only look at him and Neytiri, before he turned around looking at the Na'vi that were dead on his lab table. The crying Na'vi was reaching out for warmth, her mother, her mother's warmth.
"I'm guessing there was an altercation with things, and it limited her color."
Norm explained, and Jake looks at him confused, as Neytiri gently picked up the baby, holding it close it instantly accepted her touch, her crying coming to a slow halt.
"English, Norm."
Jake said to Norm who looked up at Jake, and sighed.
"She's albino. She has albinism."
He summarized bluntly, and Jake looked at Neytiri and the white Na'vi in her arms, before looking back at Norm.
"Who is going to take care of her?"
Neytiri asked, and Jake looked down at her pregnant stomach, then over to Grace's pregnant stomach and shook his head.
"We already have enough on our hands."
He confirmed, and Norm cleared his throat, causing the two to look over at him as Jake was playing with the baby in Neytiri's arms.
"I can take care of her. Obviously she will sleep with you all, but I will treat her as if she were my own."
Neytiri looked over at Jake for his answer, and Jake could only nod his head slowly.
"That will work. We will train her how Na'vi's are and you can teach her about your stuff."
Jake said, and Norm smiled over at his now daughter, as Neytiri placed her back down as she rested peacefully.
"I'll name her Arctic. White as snow."
--
"Arctic! Come on!"
Kiri yelled as they all ran along the tree's that were makeshift bridges, and laughed as their steps caused the moss to light up under their weight.
"Don't yell at me! Spider is the one behind us!"
Hearing the insult thrown his way, he tugged at her tail causing her to softly slap him with her tail. Making it to their destination, they all looked around as Lo'ak pointed towards the area that was said to be the battlefield.
Looking around in amazement, Arctic's ears twitched at the sound of voices. Automatically recognizing they were speaking English. As Kiri tried to convince them to leave, Lo'ak quickly made their hidden figures noticeable to the English Avatar's.
Yelping as her hair was pulled, she winced before she saw someone come into her vision.
"Well I'll be damned. Look at this one. White as a ghost, must've scared the color out of her."
Quaritch joked, as he inspected her. Looking at her closely, he noticed how her main color was white, with slightly darker stripes and bright blue eyes. What stood out the most to him was her platinum hair.
"Leave her alone!"
Spider yelled and Arctic hissed before yelping in pain as he hair was pulled once more. Her two braids being yanked as her main braid was left untouched thankfully. Her curly hair laid along her shoulders, the Avatar that was holding her, held her braids as if they were horse reins.
Lo'ak looked over to his best friend and tried to draw the attention off of her.
"Show me your fingers."
Flipping him off, Lo'ak glared up at him, as Arctic watched Lo'ak in fear of him being hurt.
"You're his."
Closing her eyes as her hair was pulled roughly once more, she involuntary let out a whimper of pain, and this caught Quaritch's attention.
"Call for your father. Until he arrives, we'll see if your friend bleeds color."
He said laughing and walking over to Arctic who let out panicked breaths, and Lo'ak yelled trying to get him to leave her alone. Spider kicked around attempting to escape as he watched.
Letting out a short scream as her chest was slashed, and shortly her cheek was. Blood slowly dripped down, and Quaritch chuckled looking at the blood.
"Well I'll be damned. She bleeds color. Would you look at that?"
--
Norm looked at his daughter sadly, as she kept looking at her reflection, her fingers slightly trailing over the cuts.
"Dad. I don't want to leave you."
She finally broke the silence and Norm knew this would be difficult, and shook his head.
"It's final, you're going. It's the only way to keep you safe. Uncle Jake will take care of you."
He told her and she looked down at him, before softly hugging him. Norm held her, as he sighed out already knowing how much he would regret it.
--
As they landed on Awa'atlu, Arctic instantly hid behind Lo'ak and Neteyam, not wanting attention on her. She knew she'd be looked at, she looked completely different than the rest.
Being moved forward by Neytiri, she looked in front of her and noticed Neteyam and Lo'ak greet someone, so she stumbled to greet whoever they greeted.
Looking for who they greeted, she saw a Na'vi that was already looking at her. Shifting uncomfortably under his gaze, she looked away as he scanned her.
"I don't like this."
She muttered to Lo'ak who only grumbled in agreement, before his hand was jerked up. Feeling her hair being lifted, she looked over noticing it was the same that was holding Lo'ak's hand.
"They have demon in their blood!"
She said as she dropped Lo'ak's hand, and walked over to Arctic.
"Abnormal. They have abnormality in them."
She said letting her hair go, as Jake was quick to defend them, and she felt the constant stare on her from the one earlier. Being pulled by Neteyam, she followed him as she looked back catching the eye of the boy. Looking away she followed them to the Marui.
--
As she watched Tsireya, Lo'ak, Rotxo, Kiri, and Neteyam training their breathing from a distance she frowned. Moving her attention back to the two that were training her on her Ilu, she let out a nervous breath wishing one of her friends had joined her.
"Focus."
One of them spoke up, and she slowly got on the Ilu, bonding with it. Smiling at the bond, she noticed how peaceful it felt. Feeling every breath it would take, she pet it before she motioned for it to go forwards. Diving under, she smiled brightly, as they spun around and drug her hand along the surface of the water as they were upside down.
Ao'nung watched the entire interaction, and to say he was slightly annoyed at how quickly she learned was an understatement.
"Come. We train with breathing."
Removing the bond, she swam with Ao'nung, and met Neteyam as the rest left to train with Ilu's. Looking at Neteyam in relief that he stayed behind, he patted the spot beside him.
"Couldn't really get any training in. Lo'ak was stealing all the attention."
He spoke in English so the other Na'vi wouldn't understand their conversation. Laughing she patted Neteyam's chest softly.
"Don't worry. The big mighty warrior will find a moment to train."
She joked, and Ao'nung looked between the two and then over to his friend as he tried his hardest to understand what they were saying. He felt his stomach swirl in some sort of feeling, as he watched them.
"To breath like us, you will breath from here."
Ao'nung placed his hand on his stomach and chest, as he explained the process of doing so. Neteyam helped slightly when Arctic got lost.
"You got it all wrong."
Ao'nung finally spoke up as Neteyam left to practice with the Ilu's before Tsireya left.
Rolling her eyes she looked at him and crossed her arms over her chest glaring at him.
"You have said that about eight times now."
She argued to him and Ao'nung rolled his eyes as well, as he pulled her closer. As he was about to show her how, he finally noticed the cuts. His eyes examined the cuts, and looked up at her eyes.
"Who did this?"
He asked, his finger trailing over the one on her cheek. Arctic let out a shuddered breath at his touch, and looked away her ears lowering in sorrow.
"Don't worry about it."
She muttered moving away from his touch. Looking at her, he grabbed her wrist, as he held her in place.
"Why?"
He questioned and Arctic huffed out looking back at him, as he realized her eyes almost matched his. Her's were a hue lighter than his.
"They wanted to see if I bled color."
She muttered under her breath and Ao'nung's breath hitched as she explained. Placing his hand on her cheek, cupping the cheek that had the injury.
"You don't need color to be seen."
He whispered to her, and Arctic looked at him in shock, her tail swishing in bashfulness. Clearing her throat she pulled back and looked away, as he snapped out of his daze, clearing his own throat.
"Training."
She reminded and Ao'nung nodded, as he once again explained how to do it, and she followed his instructions the best she could. Ao'nung grinned as she started learning, and nodded his head once she looked at him for affirmation.

forest girl.
ao'nung x omaticaya!avatar.
Summary: Breathing lessons go great, but their rivalry makes them stand on their toes.
Warnings: Mention of fighting.
Full Story! Series may happen!
Word Count: 1871.
part one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yelping as she hit the ground roughly, she scoffed as she looked up at her brother who was beaming down at her confidently. Slowly raising up, quietly hissing at him she slowly brought her tail around and wrapped it around his leg, swiping him off of his feet.
"You little shit."
Neteyam hissed out as he tackled her, the two rolling down the sand, yelling curses to one another. Reaching flat sand, Nasci kicked Neteyam over her head and Neteyam groaned out as he was flipped over.
“What is happening?”
Ao’nung asked as he walked up, standing alongside Kiri as they watched from a distance of the two siblings trained their fighting. Kiri looked over at him and laughed quietly, pointing to her siblings.
“They train this way. Sometimes it gets rough.”
She told him, and Ao’nung watched Nasci in envy as she held her ground against her brother. Nasci hissed out slightly as she grabbed Neteyam’s as she fell backwards, once more flipping him over.
Neteyam cursed out and got up, sighing as he rubbed his head.
“Would you stop that?”
He groaned out as Nasci laughed walking over and helping him up. The two grinned at each other as Neteyam softly shoved her.
“She’s amazing.”
Kiri said looking over, noticing that the spot he once stood was empty. Looking around confused, she finally saw him talking to her. The two soon walked away, and Neteyam walked up to Kiri and patted her shoulder.
As the two swiftly swam in peace, Nasci would surface, and Ao’nung would surface with her, even though he still could go minutes under. Ao’nung knew he had to be good to her this one time during training, as he knew he made a deal.
Climbing up on the rock, he helped her up, hearing the mumbled, ‘Thank you’, and he sat down, motioning for her to sit in front of him. This was their first one on one training together, usually they’d have Neteyam, Kiri, and Rotxo with them.
“You’ve been doing well. But I have noticed you can’t stay under as long as your siblings.”
He told her, and she only listened, nodding in agreement. Though she wouldn’t say it aloud, she felt useless compared to her siblings. They learned the Way of the Water faster and better than she did.
She still struggles with breathing correctly, there were moments where she’d wound up choking on water, Kiri automatically slapping her back a little too roughly.
“Concentrate.”
He whispered to her, as she closed her eyes breathing in from her stomach the best she could. Ao’nung watched her, perplexed. He noticed how she couldn’t focus entirely on her breathing, and he sighed shaking his head.
“Focus on your breathing.”
He said once more, and she nodded before groaning and giving up. Opening her eyes she looked at him slightly with annoyance and he rolled his eyes.
“What’s wrong?”
He asked, and she looked at him deciding on whether or not she should tell him. Watching her intently, he waited for an answer and tilted his head in curiosity.
“I feel like I’m letting you down. You’re supposed to be training me and I can’t even focus on my breathing.”
She confessed and Ao’nung just looked at her and shook his head disagreeing with her.
“Just focus. Clear your thoughts.”
He told her and she nodded as she closed her eyes, attempting to clear her mind. Slightly struggling on correcting her breathing, Ao’nung moved forwards now sitting directly in front of her.
Nasci hadn’t realized how much closer he was until she felt his hand rest on her stomach. Slowly opening her eyes, she almost gasped at how close they were. Ao’nung had his eyes closed, and focused on his breathing as if he were giving her his breaths.
“You’re training to learn. You aren’t letting me down.”
He whispered to her, finally opening his eyes meeting her honey eyes, and Nasci looked up at him, realizing she had finally started breathing correctly. As she was about to place her hand over his, he moved his hand away and moved back to his original spot.
“You got it.”
He cheered, and Nasci laughed in relief, the two slowly standing up.
“Time to test it in the water.”
Diving into the water, Nasci followed after him as she watched her figure into the water, bubbles surrounding her. Grabbing her hand and pulling her along with him, the two swam alongside each other.
As she went to surface, Ao’nung placed his hand back on her stomach as they looked at each other. Signing with his free hand, she watched him.
‘Clear your thoughts.’
Clearing her mind, and focusing it on the hand that was on her, she nodded her head and he pulled his hand away allowing her to stay under much longer.
Slowly swimming she flipped backwards and smiled brightly, as Ao’nung watched proudly at the fact that he was the one who taught her.
After the two resurfaced at the same time, they agreed to go back on land. Making it back, she was instantly tackled to the ground.
“Neteyam you fuck!”
She yelled out and Neteyam just laughed as he helped her up. Ao’nung watched their interaction and could feel a spark of envy go through his veins.
Before the two walked away from Ao’nung, he caught her wrist and looked at her. She looked at him slightly confused as he kept opening and closing his mouth.
“Yeah?”
She asked, growing impatient and he looked away not wanting to meet her eyes.
“Can you train me to fight?”
He asked, and Nasci blinked a couple times before looking over at Neteyam for advice. He shrugged his shoulders, and she looked back at Ao’nung who patiently waited.
“Meet me here tonight.”
As she said that, she quickly walked away with Neteyam, the two bickering playfully.
“Go easy on the poor fish. He only knows how to fight with his chunky tail.”
Neteyam teased and she rolled her eyes as she walked out of her Marui explaining to her father that she was training the Cheif’s son.
Walking to the almost secluded area, she saw Ao’nung sitting down, looking off into the ocean water. Sitting beside of him, the two didn’t share a word as they both enjoyed the silence.
“You only know how to fight with your tail?”
She asked, breaking the silence. Ao’nung looked over at her, and held back a snarky remark.
“We grew up fighting on water, so we use weapons. Our only defense on land is our tail and the weapons.”
He explained and she nodded her head, before standing up. Offering her hand to him, she helped him up before quickly flipping him off of his feet.
Groaning he looked up at her with a harsh glare, as she tried to regain his breathing.
“Rule number one, never fully trust your opponent.”
She told him as he got up, muttering a remark under his breath.
“Quiet fish boy.”
She whispered to him, as he glared at the nickname.
“Whatever, forest girl.”
Rolling her eyes, she grabbed him by the shoulders, pulling him close kneeing his stomach. Ao’nung held his stomach as he was pushed away, coughing.
“Never let your opponent put their hands on you.”
Ao’nung nodded his head, remembering Neteyam doing that to one of his friends.
“Rule number three.”
As he looked up he noticed her absence, and looked around confused. Gasping as he felt weight on his shoulders, he had no time to think as Nasci quickly flipped him forwards.
Looking up as her fist was inches away from his face, as she had him pinned.
“Never look away from your opponent.”
Getting off of him, she offered her his hand and he looked at it hesitantly. Rolling her eyes, she squatted pulling him up herself.
“I’m not going to pull the same move twice.”
She told him and Ao’nung just watched as she circled him. Feeling a finger trail over his shoulder blades and across his chest, his eyes trailed her every movement.
“Wanna guess rule number four?”
Ao’nung was about to answer but was quickly taken aback as her tail wrapped around his leg, causing him to fall back.
“Forest people also use their tails to fight.”
Rubbing the back of his head, he cursed. Offering her hand to him once more, he grabbed it before pulling her down, the two rolled as he finally rested on her hips pinning her down.
“Rule number one, never fully trust your opponent.”
He mocked as Nasci looked up at him, her eyes wide. Smirking cockily, she quickly kicked him off, causing him to flip over her. Moving swiftly, she pinned him down on his stomach, as she settled on his back, holding his head down into the sand.
“Rule number five. You haven’t won until your opponent is unconscious or dead.”
She whispered to him, and got off of him as he got up looking at her. She grinned at him, her eyes unintentionally softening.
“I want to beat you in fighting skills.”
He blurted out and Nasci smiled at this, putting her hand out to shake. As he grabbed her hand, they shook on it. Watching her, his vision then blurred as he was now leaned up against her figure.
His back pressed against her, as she had her knife to his throat, and grinned.
“I win.”
She whispered, as she released him and pushed him away. He turned to look at her, as she twirled her knife. Not once did he notice her pull out the knife, nor did he realize he had even been spun around into her grip.
Nasci and Kiri were sitting on the sand, as Tuk played around in the water. Feeling someone’s stare on her she looked around not able to find anyone.
Shaking the feeling off, she looked over at Kiri who kept her eyes trained on Tuk.
“How did training with Ao’nung go?”
Kiri asked, sparking up a conversation. Nasci looked back at Tuk and hummed.
“Breathing training went well, fighting training he needs to learn not to lose focus.”
She told her, and Kiri looked over at her and laughed quietly.
“Is he terrible at fighting?”
She questioned and Nasci only shrugged.
“His defense could be better.”
She truthfully said, as she got up to go play with Tuk in the water. Yelping as she felt weight on her shoulders, she was thrown to the ground and looked up to see Ao’nung smirking down at her.
Huffing she glared up at him, noticing the tree that was above where she sat. Hearing laughter beside of her, she glared at Kiri.
Kicked Ao’nung off she got up and kicked sand his way. Ao’nung chuckled as he got up, watching her walk to the ocean where Tuk was.
“Neteyam teach you that?”
Kiri asked, and Ao’nung looked behind him, and shook his head.
“I learned it from Nasci.”
Kiri watched as Ao'nung studied Nasci, and smiled noticing their rivalry from a mile away.
"She's an amazing fighter."
Kiri told Ao'nung who nodded his head, glaring slightly at Nasci who looked over at him smirking.
"I'll be better."
