I was just thinking, dunno if anyone pointed this out yet i havent posted here in a while, but the reason wei wuxian is so much nicer to yanli than he is to jiang cheng. Like theres this special love he has for her and its shown to be special and i just realised it's because he never had a mother figure. Madam yu never really liked him, but yanli was always there for him when he needed a mother. Ofc he had jiang feingmian as his father figure, but yanli was to him what he never had
