Aliexpress Standard Shipping Tracking

What my take is on tracking numbers ???

Hi guys, i don't have a page where people can look up their tracking number or anything like that basically what I do is I only give out standard tracking information.

if I get an email inquiry from a customer so basically what I do is when someone orders an item on my store I go to Aliexpress I buy the item in their name and then from Aliexpress.

I will take the order number right every order on Aliexpress has like a number it's not a tracking number by the way it's just the order number within Aliexpress so I can easily identify which order it is I take the order number and I take that and included within Shopify in the tracking field and when doing that it's very important that you deactivate the checkbox where it says send a confirmation to the customer about the fulfillment.

Because although I'm going to fulfill the item and although I'm copying the order number from

Aliexpress in the field within Shopify it isn't the actual tracking number that I'm including there so I don't want my customers to get an email with that number because they can't use it to look up their order.

It's basically an internal number just for me so I know which customer bought which order on Aliexpress so now when a customer reaches out to me per email and says "hey what's the status of my order" I go and search for their name within Shopify I find their order and within the tracking or within the fulfillment settings.

I can find the Aliexpress order number that I copy there I can then go to Aliexpress and search for that order number and then within Aliexpress I can click on tracking information and I can retrieve the shipping tracking number and then I send an email to the customer with the correct tracking number but I only do this if they're requested because I just want to simplify things for me I want to simplify the fulfillment process and everything so that's basically how I do it maybe other people have different systems but this works really well for me I don't get that many people asking for the
