There weren’t a lot of reasons for Dazai to be so quiet. Chuuya had expected a witty quip or a horrid joke of some sort at the sight of him just woken up. Even a devilish prank was in the cards so the silence, unexpected and out of character was a bad omen, a sign of the apocalypse. Only bad things could follow the silence of Dazai Osamu. 

Chuuya walked to the kitchen and started to make his morning coffee before the unnerving quiet finally hit his last nerve. He reacted impulsively and threw the mug he was holding at Dazai’s head. Being Dazai he dodged the throw easily and the mug shattered against the wall. It was sad to say this wasn’t the first time Chuuya had thrown a type of pottery at him. 

“What is wrong with you!” Chuuya yelled, staring at Dazai wide-eyed with anger. 

When he still refused to make a sound it only made Chuuya angrier. “SAY SOMETHING.”

“Did the slug wake up on the wrong side of the bed?”

Chuuya’s face turned red and his whole body shook with frustration and he tried not to murder Dazai right there.

“You're such an ass!” Chuuya shouted and picked up his coat in a swoosh and ran out the door, forgetting about everything else and running off to work early in his pyjamas.

A soft click from behind. “Oh—” Dazai blinked and raised his hands in surrender. “Oh no, it looks like I’ve been captured. Whatever shall I do?” Chuuya scowled at him and tossed his coat onto a nearby couch. “What the hell are you doing in my office?” A pause. “Scratch that, what the hell are you doing here at headquarters? How’d you get inside?” “I blended in, duh,” Dazai said simply as he whipped out a pair of sunglasses and waved them around. “Some of them were really quite nice about letting me in.” He hopped up onto the desk and idly swung his legs. “I should be asking you the questions. Why are you working on your birthday?”

No one has seen this but update. It was a date! I went on a date with a pretty girl and didn't know it was a date! It was a DATE! I am going to melt into the floor now.

That little moment after a date hanging out with a friend and you part ways at a cross walk, walking in opposite directions you stop and turn around to steal one last glance and catch them staring back at you with a smile.

personal update

I am just very busy. So far okay, but busy.

Also I bought a fish on a whim and without consulting anyone so I am now hiding an entire fish tank with the filter, heater and fish in it from everyone else in my house. I will update if anything dramatic comes out of the fact I, an adult with my own money have bought a fish and am hiding it from my family.

Finally finished this! Took me a while but I’m happy with it. Seriously though I love Shin Soukoku so much, I’ve been in the trenches for YEARS now lol

I can imagine Dazai making up some bullshit about talking to the birds who told him the info. They didn't believe him the first time but he was 100% right and they haven't questioned him since cause he's always right.

The fact that it's canon that Dazai shared pm intel with the ada while they still didn't know about his past is hilarious. Can you imagine them wondering how he gathered all that info and he's just like “I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts” and the guy's just so weird they might as well believe it
