a big criticism I keep seeing on like youtube is that Carlton Drake didn't have enough motivation to be evil, but honestly watching the film I was thinking, "Yup. rich guy. selfishly trying to do what he wants because he can. exactly like real life" so I mean, maybe the criticism is that Carlton Drake is TOO real?? I could see Elon Musk doing the same thing if he got his hands on body hopping aliens because he can... like... it doesn't take much more than 'because' to do shitty things

This tbH, I’m far too tired to get into this too much but basically combining the need to move quick af that comes with capitalism with science is Never a good idea, especially when people are involved because you start taking unnecessary risks to get that extra head start on your competitors, plus- as you say- that you just Can. Drake was a great villain and I will not be silenced on this!

Me: I like symbrock because as someone who struggles with intrusive thoughts, auditory hallucinations, and disassociative episodes, I like the idea of these things being presented almost in a positive, empowering way because while Eddie has an unwelcome “parasite” that he tries to get rid of, he eventually accepts that it is a part of him now, and it makes him stronger and gives his life new meanings that don’t have to be negative.

So off topic but I’ve been reading Eddie/Venom fic and all the fic at this stage is pretty much either fluff or smut and I long for more plotty fic. Specially one where they get separated somehow and Eddie gets captured so he can be studied but Venom is very weak and escapes (probably Eddies doing). Cue Venom furiously host hopping trying to get his baby back.
