I feel like a lot of progressive types aren't pro-choice because they consider pregnancy an extreme crisis, a serious women's rights issue etc. but because they've just adopted a "Idk, let people do whatever I guess" mentality. I keep seeing people be like "How can you be pro-choice but be against cosmetic surgery/etc?". Like I feel like most of these people don't even sympathise with women and how destructive pregnancy and childbirth can be for us, they just shrug at the thought of a woman getting a life-saving abortion the same way they shrug at some random person getting an edgy tattoo. These people will call you a hypocrite for criticising cosmetic surgery or genital surgery because they genuinely can't see how a woman or girl's right to terminate a pregnancy is anything more worthy of being advocated for or sympathised with.

sexualization of female athletes is so disgusting and it makes me SO mad. a woman can never focus solely on her sport, she also has to make sure her physique looks good in skin tight spandex. and she has to constantly self-monitor to make sure she’s not accidentally flashing the crowd. and even if she’s the most skilled and talented athlete in the world, she still gets dolled up and paraded around like some kind of sexy show pony. it’s seriously ridiculous.

It’s really a tragedy that most people get their education on what sex acts to perform and how to perform it based on porn. Positions and sex acts in porn aren’t chosen based on how they feel, but how they look like for a camera and what the majority male audience wants to see (which includes violence and pain btw).

People pay lip service to knowing “It’s not realistic” yet, to the best of their ability, a vast majority of those people are mimicking the acts and positions they see in porn.

How many acts and positions that have their origins in a certain camera framing or a trending director’s choice have integrated themselves as “standard”’sex in people’s imaginations? If people focused on pleasant sensation only in their sex- it would probably look radically different from what most people reach for.
