It is that time of year again! Kacxa-Week is upon us! At the bottom are the selected prompts for this year's Kacxa-Week, and if you feel adventurous and want to keep the week going, please do! I will include some of last year's extra prompts. We, as a community, are starved for more Kacxa material.

All the other Kacxa weeks where really PG, I say we spice it up a bit with some NSFW prompts for the extended week, not the main week since some people aren't comfortable writing explicit content? What do you think?

I myself have never really written an explicit story for Kacxa let alone for my comfort-zone series Guyver. But I am not against this for the breath of the Kacxa-Week. Just use the appropriate tags to inform people that it is an NSFW piece.

I know I haven't been here religiously, but being I have no obligations for the next week besides my dog, I plan on looking over prompt suggestions between here and DeviantArt.

I'm so, so sorry about what happened to you, I hope everyone supports you through these hard times

Thank you. It's been hard, but we are coping and grieving in our own ways. It still stings the most for me personally because he was the only Grandfather I knew growing up, my Maternal Grandfather didn't want anything to do with me even though I was his only grandson because I wasn't completely white.

I am trying to get a tribute writing piece done in his honor before we go to NYC (this late because paperwork with the family burial plot had to clear) for his burial. Which is helping me get back into the mood for writing. I may share it here when it is completed, but I also plan on getting a tattoo of his dog tags (he was a lieutenant in the Air Force) on one of my hands.

are you still alive?!!!

I am still alive. I apologize for not responding sooner. I've just been dealing with a lot of stressful stuff this year that regrettably, writing or drawing has been the last thing on my mind. Grandparents in and out of the hospital, the passing of my Grandfather last month, his funeral, and burial at the family plot next month now that all the paperwork has been ironed out.

So, as much as I want to lead the charge in Kacxa week, I just don't have it in me. I am just exhausted physically, mentally, and emotionally. If someone wants to pick the reigns up and come up with prompts, I will try to participate, it may help take my mind off of things but I make no guarantees.

Again, I'm sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

Keith David as Hordak?

So I saw earlier today that Keith David has been cast as Hordak in the sequel to Kevin Smith’s Masters of the Universe Revelation.

All I have to say is FUCK YEAH! 

Such a versatile actor like him with roles like G’throka of 2012s TMNT, Spawn, and Goliath of Gargoyles I am sure he can make Hordak the menacing villain he always was meant to be as he was in Eternity War... and not that BITCH I hear they made him in that She-Ra series. 

Hopefully we will also see Adora as Despara that mirrors her Eternity War counterpart to an extent.

MonsterVerse Skull Island series and thoughts before launch:

So tomorrow, the MonsterVerse animated series/sequel to the movie Kong: Skull Island will debut on Netflix. These are my thoughts and views on the pending series and previous shows on Netflix. These are my impressions of the trailers before the premiere.

Let me be perfectly blunt; I am a Kaiju Fan. I live, breathe and eat up anything Kaiju-related, whether Pacific Rim, Ultraman, Independent companies, or the BIG THREE - Kong, Gamera and the King himself, Godzilla. So, when I go into a Kaiju project, I want it to be successful. In the age where Superhero movies are successful, and both Star Trek and Star Wars are experiencing a revitalization, each Kaiju, whether it be Godzilla, Ultraman, or Kong, needs to be just as successful as the last.

I don't expect much from “Skull Island.” Based on the teaser released a couple of months ago, I hoped to span the gap between the last line of the titular movie “Kong’s Not the only King out there and the Philippines 1998.” You know you build some lore for the MonsterVerse before AppleTV’s Monarch series emerges.

Instead, it will be another project for Tweens in which Netflix can jump on the Kaiju Bandwagon and get some residual fees. I will give it three shots/viewings like I did Pacific Rim: The Black and post my thoughts afterward. And if I like it, my tune will change towards it. But the series has a critical strike against it. Lack of promotion - a teaser, trailer, and two exclusive clips mere hours before release?

Now I know it hasn't aired yet, so I can’t tear it apart as I have done to previous Netflix series I was interested in: Voltron, Masters of the Universe Revelation, Ghost in the Shell SAC 2045, Pacific Rim The Black, and others that I was interested in. But Legendary and Netflix, COME ON! If you want your product to be successful with Kaiju fans and others in the audience, you need to promote it every chance you get, ESPECIALLY YOU Netflix! You can’t just rely on Netflix audiences scrolling, looking for something interesting to watch.

Now when I go get a chance to write a review, I will base it on the following, and I will warn you I will be honest with it, I grade it based on my grading of anime series:

Characters - Are they relatable and character growth?

Story - How does it play out with the rest of the MonsterVerse? 

Tone - Does it feel like a classic kaiju movie or a typical American action movie/show that features kaiju or, as they are called in MonsterVerse, "Titans."

Plot - Have they thought the entire plot/storyline through? How many plot holes are there?

Promotion - Toys and Merch/Trailers/Images/Clips/Voice Actors promoting but not spoiling or supporting fan head-canons?

Voice Actors - How are they? Do they fit the characters they are portraying?

Soundtrack - Enough said

Is it something I would recommend to fans and non-fans?

Remember, I live, breathe, and eat everything I can watch and read on kaiju. I have done so since I was 4 in 1986, watching Godzilla 1985 for the first time. And I am brutally honest on the subject.

Shipping and Representation. I know this will upset people, but I must address it if characters are "ship material," GOOD! I don't care. No one in my 37 years of watching this genre cared or addressed shipping between human characters unless it is purposely part of the story. No one talks about Maki Goro and Naoko being a couple in Godzilla 1985 or Yaguchi and an American Ambassador's daughter in Shin-Godzilla. If there are characters part of the LGBT Community, I am also okay with that. Old-Timers like myself may joke about Godzilla and Mothra being a royal couple, but that is all it was until 2019's Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Or even Miki Segusa and Koji from Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla. 

These are not what drive Kaiju movies/series. What drives them are the human characters and how they cope with the existence of such creatures and the underlying contextual messages.

I hope I have not scared any of you away because that is not my intention. Just know I am passionate about the Kaiju genre to succeed. And when I can find Shin-Ultraman to watch, and when Monarch, Gamera Rebirth, Godzilla Zero, and even Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire are out, I will voice my honest opinions on those projects too.

I wish we got to see her in animated form again. I just wish they kept her a redhead or at the very least a Strawberry blonde in the manga. She is just as ruthless/stubborn/and determined as she was in her debut in Guyver: Out of Control.

In the Long game, Tony would dominate due to unlimited energy if he could avoid the more devastating weapons the Guyver has. But he would also have to had encountered one previously to fully be able to analyze it and come up with ways to counter their weapons. Even though the Guyver is an unstoppable weapon being bonded to a human the armor drains the host of energy so the host would be conservative in using his/her energy, it wouldn’t matter how experienced the host is. Sho, Sean (Live-Action), Crane (Live-Action Guyver-Zoanoid), Lisker, Agito, Guyver-0, the Primative-Guyver (Live-Action) or either version of Valcuria,(Manga or OAV) the armor drains them all. But in the short-medium game the Guyver depending on the host would win. 

If it is Sho or Agito depending on when they fight Iron-Man (especially after Mount Minakami) would have the Guyver-Gigantic Chrysalis they would dominate because the Gigantic armor, being created by Sho to fight Zoalords, adapts to whatever they are fighting. Also there is the Guyver’s self defense mode. If Iron Man happens to destroy the brain the Control Medal will go into a self defense mode, in which anything that moves towards it is deemed a threat in which it will fight it until it is neutralized. 

Now with Crane, Lisker, and OAV Valcuria all Iron Man would have to do is hit their Control Medal with a nice solid hit and it will go into catostrophic failure (Crane) or eject from the forehead destroying itself (Crane & OAV Valcuria) because their Guyvers were activated with the Control Medals being damaged prior to activation. Manga-Valcuria has taken a blow to her Artificial CM, and all it did was severely stun her like it did Sean in the first Live Action, but Sean has also learned to go with the blows to his CM to minimize the effects. Every other Guyver listed above have all taken blows to theirs in various fights and learned to deal with it.

If I’m not mistaken, X23 - Laura Kinney started the same way in the series X-Men Evolution. I for one am looking forward to seeing Kahhori’s debute. I hope Marvel Studios took notes on how to properly portray the culture like PREY did. But of course PREY’s cast and production crew was mostly Native peoples.  I hope Kahhori gains in popularity to the point she gets a live-action debut. And I hope it is another success story like PREY in adding Science-Fiction elements to Native American culture. Something that has been greatly lacking.

Anyone else notice...

So has anyone else noticed that you can’t search certain characters here without seemingly “butt-hurting” who or whatever is in charge of searches? 

I got this for Android 18. She seems to be the ONLY Android this happens to if you just flat out type “Android 18.″ Sure you can spell “eighteen” out or not put a space between the “d” and “1″

But I find it real “funny”

how come kacxa week didn't happen this year?

Let me just say I am saddened it did not happen. Out of Post VLD events, I look forward to looking at and reading other people's works as they look at mine, especially during Kacxa Week.

For me, too many outside factors overwhelmed me to the point I completely forgot about Kacxa Week and my other writings. Doctors appointments, dealing with a nephew who constantly gets suspended, work promotion and the stresses that came with it, helping with my elderly grandfather who fractured part of his back in August finally getting to go home.

Once this Holiday season is over I do plan on making it up and even posting some of my other, mostly Guyver works/pieces which some have received a brief preview of all the way back in September.

My fellow Kacxa fans, I apologize for posting this so late and practically last minute. Last month I had gotten sick with Covid even with my three vaccines and it literally took a lot out of me, my exact wording was “I feel like Godzilla bitch slapped me into the path of the Enterprise,” I still don’t feel 100% yet, so during this time of year, take care of yourselves!

So when I started putting this together, I tried to pick the best prompts out of the ones I got but there were so many fantastic prompts I received so I decided to put them in the “Extra Optional Prompts” section.

I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!
