The bag retrieved once it was dropped near him with a short sharp nod of thanks, Aaron turned as he started returned the first aid supplies to the bag he'd pulled them out of. The teen, not expecting anything at all from the other, just silently glad that they'd used what he'd handed over to clean the wounds.
Partly and fairly selfishly glad that the wound smell was at least now diluted with the tang of anti-septics and what smell the dressing happened to have. Also and well mainly just glad that the human, not someone he regarded as friend but still, would at least have clean wounds. Infections absolutely sucked, expecially for people who didn't know what plants to harvest stuff from to make your own meds, he'd not wish that on anybody on the street.
Expecially not since having survived such infections himself at points. The teen supressing a wince at that thought as he instead turned back to the human, back picked up and brought infront of him at her question. His response, accompanied by his opening the bag to show the items of food in question, swift and matter of fact. "Crackers and stuff that doesn't go bad quickly mainly." Aaron responded before he continued, listing each thing he could remember being in there. "So salted meets, canned stuff and energy bars with some sandwiches I laid hands on."
He grimaced then. "Not had brilliant look recently getting anything that wasn't just...filling or full of energy, so cant speak for the taste of any of it." Aaron added apologetically before he then slid the bag toward them slightly. "Sandwiches are just ham and cheese" The teen added as a afterthought, their thank you being responded too with a slight nod.
"S'alright, happy t'be able to help." Aaron commented as he settled onto one of his bags and slipped his hands into his hoodie to warm them.
THEY WEREN'T EXACTLY FRIENDS. cat wasn't certain she'd label him under the sort of people she would trust with her life. but she highly doubted he was offering bogus first aid. though a bit dramatic at times due to the uncertainties in her head, the street rat didn't consider herself to be irrational. getting the wound cleaned properly would do her well; INFECTIONS were a pain and almost impossible to be rid of in her state. not without decent tending to; something he was providing right then. so green depths flickered over the bag, lips pressed as she mulled quiet contemplation. then bony fingers would snatch it up. she got to work without too many words, finding when she knew she needed to clean and dress it. the stinging, the f r u s t r a t i o n... she didn't comment on his mention of her health, but there was a brief moment where her gaze narrowed. a desire to be rude but an understanding that it wasn't a good look just then. not to be using what he gave only to spurn him over sensitivities. eventually, it was bound, and what was left was stuffed back into the bag and dropped near to him in return. cat chewed upon her tongue, knowing what she needed to say, but struggling to offer it up. it felt like a validation of being unable to handle things herself... that wasn't the case, and the situation certainly didn't make it the case... but that wouldn't stop the feeling from t w i s t i n g in her gut. an instinct by this point, because relying on anyone but herself this much was an area of danger so far as she was concerned. "...wha' kind of food? and." say it, just say it. "...thanks."

"Pleasure to meet'chya Ellie" Aaron responded as he warmly smiled right back, his posture more relaxed now as instincts finally released their control over the last of their musclular holdings back to his mind. "Ahnd uh, I did aye." Aaron confirmed. "Well...to put it simply, at the moment I'm more like a reverse werewolf, the wolf...is my original form." Aaron explained simply.
"This..human form is what I can shift into, well the main thing I can shift into convincingly... can also do a coywolf at a stretch and a normal coyote though it aint really that convincing yet." Aaron went on in what could only be described as a embarassed ramble as he rubbed the back of his neck a bit. "I aint...that brilliant at other forms basically. " He then admitted as his voice oozed embarassement. "Elves, stuff thats basically human with additional ..bits or changes, I can do that!" "..But like..only if I see what one looks like." He then froze as he realized just exactly how much he had waffled on. "..Oh mother Lupra, sorry..I like...majorly waffled on there I'm sorry." The teen apologized, as he fixed his gaze firmly on the floor for a moment. "I've not really had other people who aren't like..human to talk to for a while." Aaron then admitted softly, idly thankful that he didn't have a tail at the moment to give away his awkward embarassment.
"So ah, I kind of get this way when.. the opportunity arises to chat."
Tumblr media
Pick up on that sort of thing... What did that mean? Not by scent? Is it really possible for someone to be able to simply sense something like that? That's amazing. Part of it was almost as hard to believe as his mention of vampires, while the other part of her knew it's obvious; obviously it's true. She's a goddamn werewolf, why would other creatures not also exist? Perhaps the hard part about it is because she's never met anyone that was not just human.
Tumblr media
❝ I get it, ❞ She says with a nod of her head. She can understand the nerves for all too many reasons. ❝ My name is Ellie. ❞ A smile tugged at her lips, ❝ You said some sort of shifter? A shapeshifter? ❞ She could only assume that it meant he could transform into a wolf, but could he turn into anything else? ❝ A shifter of what, a wolf? Anything? ❞

Golden hued eyes continued to watch the other as they sat down, the gesture mirrored after a notable pause by the wolf. Mirrored as his heart still raced in instinctual response to being presented with a wolf that was so much bigger than he was, a markedly threatening thing in the eyes of that instinct led part of him. That part werewolves might call their wolf, the part that even now shrank back and shivered inside him, barking its concerned warnings to the rest of his mind.
The part that froze him in place a moment after he'd sat down, his mind working as it caught up with the other. Caught up and managed a mind sent. "Oh" as it initially responded to the other before his brain finally caught up. "I guess your right, kinda conscious I have uh only seen werewolves from where I came from and uh, from a very small area of this fine land." The teenage mind voice observed very softly.
"And on the monster front, I don't think your a monster I think you're a large werewolf called Ellie I just met who's actually really nice." Aaron then commented conversationally before he smoothly added. "And I think I owe you a apology regarding my earlier panicky reaction to seeing you so..I deeply apologise."
The teen awkwardly coughed then. "And well, you're the first of your kind, large werewolves, I've met...though saying that the other werewolf pack I've met kinda happens to all be taller than me too." Aaron woofed then as his tail swished from one side to the other slightly. "But even with sayin that, I think you're not a monster, if that counts for anything considering we've just met and all." He then tilted his head slightly. "You look normal for your sort of werewolf, I suspect."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The wolf's ears flick forward. She is basically twice the size, which may not sound like much but it most certainly is. The right side of her front lip raised above a canine, a light chuckle slipped through her teeth. Her other form is really just for fighting, and she only fights when she needs to.
The opposite of a werewolf, huh? Interesting. A born wolf that transforms into a human... That's new. Guess she couldn't blame him or his species for wanting to hide from people. She lived a long time surrounded by terrible people. But her father was human, too, and he was a good man. He's the reason she's here today.
❝ I'm a werewolf, ❞ Ellie lowers herself to sit, ears swivel. ❝ I'm not a normal wolf, ❞ She says in a bit of a mutter. Way to state the obvious, but she didn't know how to answer his question. ❝ I don't know, I just am. I know there are probably other werewolves who are different, but my kind just... You know, ❞ Her large head swayed to side, tipping slightly.
Tumblr media
She knew only what her father shared with her. ❝ I think the point of being a werewolf is that uh... Well, we're monsters. ❞ Meant to look abnormal. Her head came up, ears snapped forward. ❝ At least that's what most people think about me, anyway. ❞

"Huh okay" Aaron managed in response to the other even as he idly noted the fact they...seemed to have just ignored what he said about moving off. The wolf not entirely phased about it in all honesty, after all...they'd done enough by freeing him for him to be grateful. If they didn't fancy doing any more for him, that was fine. "Not sure what the Ravens of Odin are...but they sound cool and uh, I'll have to keep that in mind if I ever meet this person."
He'd survive, he'd just have to limp his way somewhere safe and try to get his leg fixed...and straight. Hell, there were places a wolf could loiter where someone might help with that, if this stranger didn't. "Well ah, shall we get out of here before whoever left the snare comes back?" He suggested then.

❝  are you sure you’re alright? ❞
"No." Aaron responded bluntly, softly. Storm grey hued eyes shined slightly before he shoved a arm across them and wiped away any sign of his distress. "I really dont think I am." Whispered the voice as it cracked slightly.
Cracked as he strided away from the other, placed a hand on the calming cool stone of the nearby wall as he sighed. Sighed then forced the breath back in...then out again as he struggled to push his breathing back under control. "Struggling a bit with stuff." Aaron's jaw twitched slightly as he worked to piece together what he was going to say next. "My magic mainly." The teen coughed a bit. "Last time I tried to start a campfire I uh...incinerated the stuff I was usin for it." "Lost control." He admitted shakily. "...Shouldn't be able to do that sorta stuff anyway though I-i don't have the magical uh..stamina to incinerate stuff..normally."

❝  come on,  you’re clearly upset.  and i’m not the asshole who pretends not to notice.  ❞
Tumblr media
The currently pouting Lupricae wolf, definately not in wolf form to avoid being able to speak human about being upset honest, stared back at the other for a moment then. Warm golden Lupine eyes analysing everything about their posture before he proceeded to well....bark and then let out a long explosive sigh.
Before he presented his behind to them and proceeded to wedge himself in a corner of the room. "I'm not upset, I'm just tired" The wolf clearly half lied, low to the ground, ears drooped and wedged into a corner like that. "...Wish I was a werewolf." The Lupricae mind voice half muttered, unware of that following part of the sending.

"Are you eating properly?" Artem leaned his head to the side, blinking against the morning light as he glanced at the other. "You are looking a little thin. Let me make you breakfast." Often times he had been to busy to do so lately, he missed cooking for the other. So he was going to do so, now.
"Daaaaaad" Groaned the teenager as he father almost seemed to loveingly loom over him as he always seemed to do after one of Aarons ever less frequent roams away from the pack. "I'm fine I've eaten well, hell I even managed to catch a deer on the way back." The thin teen protested even as he moved to the seat he always claimed when food was offered.
"I'm a wolf alot of the time, I dont always need to eat!" He continued to protest before he sighed, grinned softly and then said. "If..your gonna do food though... I cant really say no to your cooking dad" The comment quickly followed by a twitch as the teen then asked. "And my boyfriend is twisting my arm about it nowww" Aaron mocked groaned as he heard the familiar voice between his ears of his other half. His other half who'd just presented the ultimatum 'eat or I'll hide your favourite book again.'
"What you gonna cook?"

"Huh." The teen well, 'huh'ed as he prowled close to his sleeping bag and other worldly possessions and internally kicked himself. 'Huh' how was that good enough when dealing with a wolf, they could like, rip people apart if they were the massive sort and all he could manage was huh.
Stupid stupid stupid, his mind growled to itself as his jaw worried, working tight and twitching. "Not really, you're right there, I can." He cautiously responded, tone kept level, stripped of the fear he felt with a effort of will. "My kind tends to be able to pick up on that sort of thing, vampires tend to be easier than wolves though, for some of us at least." He added conversationally as he carefully ensured his stuff was secured, just in case.
"I suppose it's only fair I say I'm...not a werewolf, I'm well, I suppose you could say I'm a form of shifter." Aaron then commented as he then introduced himself. "I'm Aaron by the way, apologies for the questions but uh... I aint got a good record with things that aren't werewolves or kith'n kindred to my sort" His words followed by a pause marked realization he'd been blabbering on. "Sorry, talk when ahm a tad nervy."
Tumblr media
She has a pretty good nose... Even like this, as human, her sense of smell is strong. Ellie may never have met another werewolf before but that doesn't mean she is incapable of sniffing out someone who isn't human. Maybe he isn't a werewolf but he's something. Something similar enough — like a wolf.
❝ No? ❞ She answers like it's a question, as if to hint that he should be able to determine that for himself. After all, he did say he could smell it. Wet dog is a weird way to put it but she figured he meant he knew.
Tumblr media
❝ I'm a werewolf. Are you not? ❞ She says, her violet eyes look him up and down, brows pinched as she looked up to his face. ❝ You just said you could smell it. ❞ Why else would he say she smelled like a wet dog? Well... Unless he intended on insulting her with the comment.

Smooth movements fluidly conveyed the teenager over to other as storm grey eyes fixed upon the wound. Fixed with a a storm grey stare as the other responded, speaking as the wound was carefully scrutinized by his storm grey hues. "Could help aye, I've also got some stuff for wounds, the stinging stuff that cleans them, if you want some?"
He'd asked as he'd finished scrutinizing the wound and shifted position smoothly over to his own bags. A rapid investigation of that bag by him successfully recovering a first aid bag. "Even got washing stuff for properly cleaning it if you want." Aaron offered softly there before he gently added. " Looks more recent than some, doesn't look....overly serious though but uh" He winced then. "Yer uh..." His jaw worked then as he searched for the right word as he sought to avoid...'malnourished..' the teen settling after a mo on. "Thin, could be ..unpleasant."
"...Anyway, offer's there fer med stuff and a dressing." Aaron reminded the other as he left the aid kit there, close enough for her to take it. A unspoken offer to let her use the kit without his involvement. Trust as a currency was something hard earned, he doubted he'd earned any from her and well, she hadn't earned his trust too.
She was just someone who needed help, a random malnourished human kid who was hurt. "Got food too, if you fancy some after it's cleaned.."

The wolf kept low then, tail slowly wagging from side to side in cautious curiosity as the other laughed like that. "Really-Uh I mean...your form as is is big as is.. " His response tremulous, fear the fact she was fairly intimidating making the telepathic tone shake like that.
"I aint like a werewolf, for me its the uh..other way round if that makes sense?" The Lupricae cautiously well...squeaked as he slipped backward almost slinking as he hugged the ground. "I was born a wolf and learned to transform into two legs....its cause Lupricae uh... found it easier to hide from humans that way...at least in my pack's case."
Tumblr media
He Elaborated on that after a second. "We take on the form our parents were in when we were born and learn from there, I know how to do human but with time..I could do more, but thats cause I was born wolf." "Mom knew human better but thats cause her family were humans the most and uh.. I know some who look fae?" his voice quick as he stumbled through his speech anxious. Stumbled and said after a moment. "Why...are you so big compared to most wolves?"
Tumblr media
Could she really even be surprised that his species is one she has never heard of? It's not like she has a ton of experience out in the world. Most of her life was spent between four walls. A shapeshifter but not a werewolf... But can still transform into a wolf — albeit one a lot smaller than herself.
Tumblr media
❝ I'm Ellie, ❞ The white wolf dipped her head, eyebrows seeming to furrow. ❝ My other form is larger. ❞ She teased, letting a soft laugh escape her maw. At least taller, if not larger.
Ellie lifted her head and shifted a foot to the right. ❝ I haven't met other werewolves yet. Or... Your kind, before. Do you only transform into a wolf? ❞

As the wolf moved in toward the Lupricae, the Lupricae moved back, intimidated by what could only be described as the big hecking wolf . A wolf who while not in themselves was trying to be intimidating was...well, more than big enough that the small presently canid's instincts were screaming in warning. Screaming at the teen to run, to hide.
Instinctual urges he was only just managing to suppress as he watched the giant of a wolf pad out of cover and moved toward him. Dipped his head as he did, stepped closer as Aarons ears went back and his tail dropped in a 'Woah you're big' related fear response. "Ohhhkay you're big."The wolf's voice managed then, the telepathic statement shaky the slight fear the wolf showed. "Hi...uh...pleasant to meet...you?"
Tumblr media
"You're....a nice giant wolf right?"
The russet wolf did hear a voice in his head.
Tumblr media
It’s rare that he does spend time in this form. The prince woofed. He stepped closer — and he was a large wolf when in this form. He shook his fur. Upon hearing the voice he responded back with a howl. He spoke. ‘ Well here I am! ‘ The prince called out. As he stepped close he noticed the other wolf .
Caspian always expected to be taller than someone , especially when in this form. Caspian dipped his head towards the other canine . The voice sounded like someone he never heard of before. He winced at the sight of the voice. As he stepped closer towards the other wolf he towered over the other , but clearly he wasn’t intimidating .

"...That's...a fun shape for a drone!" The Lupricae declares softly through those ear movements and tail twitches as they allowed it to scan them. Watched it analyse the damage to their body with calm golden hued eyes. Aaron keeping the drone in his gaze for a while before he shifted to look at Glitch again. Watched them for a time. "...I...thought as much and well." The Lupricae falls silent for a moment before continuing. "I think you're probably right, need to move as soon as it's splinted."
continued from here with @hunterfromthewoods
“Okay,” Glitch nodded, the vaguely bird shaped drone floated down and scanned the injury looking analyzing the damage.  “It looks like the bone is broken, but Huginn is programmed to set the splint so it can mend proper. It won’t take too long, but we should keep moving, since whoever set that trap was probably informed.”

When he'd first heard the snap, instinct had seized his muscles freezing him in place. His ears straining at attention and his gazed fixed in the direction of the noise. The immobility followed by a slow sweep as he forced himself to look around, forced himself a moment later to start to move.
Moving slowly, carefully as he mentally checked himself, checked the load he carried on his back in their shape-shifter enchanted leather packs. Made sure the weight was in the right place if he needed to run, it was, good. Good. The leathers of his armour work shimmering slightly as he continued to search.
Tumblr media
Continued for a time before he spotted further movement, dropped low and prowled slightly closer. "Hello?" He wide-sent telepathically. "I can hear you moving." Moving himself as he maneuvered to try and catch any scent, something successful a few moments later. Not that it helped him, he didn't recognize that sort of scent at all. "I've got your scent too, I know you're there."

Suppressing what might be by some described as a flash of annoyance as the other proceeded to thank the wolf after assuming he was talking to and was saved by them. Aaron fixed the other with careful golden hues as they finished their assumptions and proceeded to ask about a way out of the forest.
"The people who were shot's friend won't be coming back the way the dead lot came from for a while." He commented calmly then, sniffing the still forms. "They'll expect subduing you to take a bit of time and for them to be slower taking you back in whatever state you were in by the time they were done with you" Aaron continued as he turned to fix the other with his golden hues again. "So you'll have time to get out of here if you follow their foot steps, step in their steps and break off left past the large oak tree and walk straight from there until you leave the forest." He informed them, suppressing his annoyance at their insistence toward not leaving him be.
Tumblr media
"That'd be your best bet, their scents'll muddy up the fact you came back partly by that route then you can run back to whatever settlement you came from." The wolf mused then as he pawed at the ground a bit. "You won't be lost if you follow their and your steps back a bit and" The wolf paused a moment. "I am much safer on my own here in my natural environment than with a two legs and you'll be much safer once you follow my suggestions and once out make for the nearest settlement and get behind its walls."
"And either way, they were after you stranger, not me." Aaron then observed as he finished pushing weapons away with his snout and satisfied himself that the still forms in the clearing weren't going to be getting back up. "And I'll stress, were, if I was them I'd be thinking you have at least one if not more friends, they'll need time to convince more people to risk being the attentions of bandit archers or others or for that matter, wolves." Aaron then cocked his head a bit as he reached out with his mind, sending the image of the last man in the clearing to nearby predators. Sending it with a simple feeling prey.
"That is if they even make it out of here alive"
It was one of the deadliest moments he had been into. He was only 22 years old but he could fight for dear life. He had to fight for dear life once again. He had to take care of himself and go back home to see his brother again but the others would not let him.
It was a dire situation because they all wanted to kill him. But it all happened so fast and Huor could hear the arrows travelling at the speed of light against his enemies. Most of them died but it seemed that one survived. Huor did not know what to do that moment.
It had all happened so fast and he did not know how to react. He did not know who had just saved his life. But he really wanted to thank him for everything. He suddenly heard a voice and he saw a wolf. He was not scared at all but he didn't know what to do.
He could only guess that the wolf was the one who had just talked to him. "I wish to thank you for everything. You must have been the one who saved my life. But I cannot leave you alone. You are in danger too!" Huor said that moment.
He could not leave his new friend alone. If the wolf was right about that, he could get killed by his enemies. And Huor didn't want that to happen. He had to take care of his friend. "Do you know the way out? I think I am lost and I don't know how to leave this place."
