Anti Hero Dinner Scene: Grab a glass of wine, Readers ☺
Have you ever wondered where we feature in the Anti-Hero mv? I think everyone has pretty much caught on to the children in the funeral scene representing her fan groups (swifties: Preston and DIL Kimber/ gaylors: Chad) and while they obviously fight over who killed her, they are ultimately both after her money and fame. They're not there because they actually care for her. So, where are the Dear Readers? The fans that actually read her lyrics, those that care for her art and not her boyfriends, and those that stuck with her when the world did not? I think I found them in the dinner scene from the second verse:
Tumblr media
Notice how they look like they're having an animated discussion, and they are all drinking red wine from the bottle on the table. The bottle with Taylor's family crest on it.... so, maybe they're discussing her messages from the bottle?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Giant Taylor comes in with another wine bottle (more messages/music) wanting to join the party, but oh no, too big to hang out...
I assume this is a 🏳️‍🌈 group, one because the two women on the right are holding each other’s hand when giant Taylor comes in, and two, because Taylor simply is too big of a celebrity to just casually hang out in queer spaces.
Tumblr media
I also think this is specifically her 2019 Lover self, because she’s attacked by the archer, revealing her lavender glitter blood, tries to cover it up with the table cloth (effectively ‘pulling the rug’ from under her own community) scaring all the diners away and they run away just as she sings the line “one day I watch as you’re leaving cause you got tired of my scheming”. She then covers up the lavender blood with the political activism pin but it still seeps out from underneath it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thank you to the lovely people who helped me identify the painting next to Taylor’s head in this scene, it’s a painting called ‘I’m not the Man I was’, which in itself is interesting considering she called herself The Man in this very album. I did a bit of research and the artist David Fruchter is an ex naval officer who was discharged from the Navy and imprisoned for drug distribution. So, perhaps a nod to being an outcast and bringing dishonour to your community in the context of this scene.
Anyway, that's my take in the Anti Hero dinner scene, let me know your thoughts.

Ok, if you don't want to engage in some (queer) tin foiling... scroll away.
So first off, I think this song rules. It was one of the few that I let just vibe instead of doing what my brain usually does, which is scrutinize lyrics/marvel over the layers of meaning. It feels like it has Kill Bill energy and that was good enough for me.
My Albatross variation of the TTPD vinyl showed up yesterday — TTPD is perhaps the best her team has done btw — and was pouring over the lyrics last night and paused on I Can Fix Him (No, Really I Can) in particular.
The last line has been one that most people have chuckled at. Like she spent a whole song building up this menacing conceit: "this boy is bad news, but he can't hold a candle to me — I'll handle him." Only to be like, lol jk at the end.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But seeing that last line written out this way scratched at my brain... she really doesn't scream that line at all. Why is it in all caps? And while we're at it... I mean it's an accepted spelling, but technically the incorrect spelling of 'whoa.' It kind of felt, by putting it in caps, like she was calling attention to it. Was it an acronym? Not that I could tell.
But... just to double check... how had she spelled woah/whoa prior? The only song I could think of off the top of my head to check was Better Than Revenge. When reading her lyrics you really wont find 99% of the "whoas" in her discography written because they're more like instrumentals.
Tumblr media
And that right there is a "whoa." Of course my eyes twitched at the matching colors of the two vids, but I'll get to that. And then I was only able to find one more written "whoa."
Tumblr media
Ok, cool.
But back to Better Than Revenge... It struck me that something had been "fixed" about the song. The famous "she's better known for things that she's done on the mattress" line had been swapped out in the rerecording for "he was a moth to the flame she was holding the matches."
So I looked back at I Can Fix Him... could this be a joke/hint about "fixing" him. Like fixing the pronouns? "WOAH" is an intentional misspelling just by comparing it to her own body of work. But it would be rather clever if the "he" she's referring to (at least on this one layer of the song) was her use of that pronoun in her work. It would make the lines "I can fix him / No, really, I can / And only I can" make even more sense, imo. She's the author of this music and she's rerecording it/making it.
What's more is that the collaged flower in the lyric booklet and the aesthetic of the lyric video are giving me um... big Reputation vibes?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hey kids, spelling is FUN! Am I absolutely living in delulu thinking that Reputation could also be "fixed" re: pronouns? Oh, I don't doubt it. But I needed to get this out of my brain, out into the world, and let the chips fall as they may and always do.
And at least Taylor Nation is also in on the joke...

Was trying to explain how I saw "But Daddy I Love Him" to be, at least in part, discussing religion/god, her upbringing/societal pressures, her fame... and that I read it as queer. That friend was pretty unbending, but that's a different convo. Anyway, the "explain this then" line ended up being the "wild boy" bit. And it reminded me of something... The Wild Boys (novel): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wild_Boys_(novel) The Wild Boys: A Book of the Dead is a novel by William S. Burroughs. It was first published in 1971 by Grove Press. It depicts a homosexual youth movement whose objective is the downfall of western civilization, set in an apocalyptic late twentieth century. Notable impacts: Ziggy Stardust: The clothes, hair, and makeup of David Bowie's character Ziggy Stardust were based on the description of the Wild Boys in the book. Johnny, the protagonist of Patti Smith's Horses, is a reference to the homoerotic protagonist of the novel.
Duran Duran song: "The Wild Boys" is the twelfth single by English pop rock band Duran Duran, released on 26 October 1984 in the United Kingdom.

I can't believe I missed the Sylvia references, damn.
TTPD IS ABOUT SYLVIA PLATH 🤯
“https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLmyRPRx/”
Sylvia Plath was an American poet, novelist, and short story writer. She is credited with advancing the genre of confessional poetry and is best known for The Colossus and Other Poems, Ariel, and The Bell Jar, a semi-autobiographical novel published shortly before her suicide in 1963.

I love this interpretation.
And it reminds me of Ceci n'est pas une pipe
Tumblr media
The Treachery of Images is a 1929 painting by Belgian surrealist painter René Magritte. It is also known as This Is Not a Pipe, Ceci n'est pas une pipe
It's not a pipe, it's a painting of a pipe
the manuscript
manuscript - the man you script
the man you scripted from her art, the projection of a muse onto her work - it's yours now, not hers....

“We met at the show, we never met before but we’re BFFs now. It’s nice to meet another American girl, we’re the same age and she’s so inspiring — she’s so talented and she’s true to who she is. She’s a cool girl and I’m glad she’s in the show this year, she rocked it.”

I don't know if anyone's talked about How Did It End yet but here's my interpretation:
This song is about bearding, which isn't surprising since a LOT of songs on this (these?) album(s) have been about bearing, being in the public eye and the pressure of that. What interests me in this are the following lyrics:
Tumblr media
"He was the hothouse flower to my outdoorsman."
This line does 3 things (I love the LAYERS in this album!!!)
1) it puts her into the role of the man again. Her highlighting that she is absolutely willing to be the man in her music, showing yet again that she plays with gender and to not trust that she's singing about an actual man just because the pronouns are different.
2) the way this line places her and her beard into very stereotypical queer contexts. Gay men are seen as delicate, limp wristed, often referred to as "pansies". Then gay women are seen as outdoorsy, masculine, "dykes".
3) this also might be in reference to how new Joe was in the industry when they started out.
Tumblr media
Taylor was meant to tend to Joe's celebrity status through their bearding contract.
Next we have "our maladies were such we could not cure them" which is SUCH a line. Considering all of the asylum/tortured poet themes of this album and how that relates to queerness as some sort of disease. A mental illness to be "cured" in the eyes of the entertainment industry.
Finally "and a touch that was my birthright became foreign". This breaks my heart. As a queer women she was born the way she was. Wanting to be with women. But because of the pressures of the industry she was forced to hide that desire from the world, to pretend that a woman's touch is foreign.
The song's chorus is then about the public eye. How the show is watched by the public, the fake empathy. They love the drama of the public persona: the boyfriend eater, the heartbreak princess. Meanwhile Taylor is trapped in this endless cycle of showmanship forcing her to hide her real love.

"The Alchemy" = Karlie's POV of how she's going to take Taylor from Travis?
"I haven't come around in so long
But I'm making a comeback to where I belong"
Karlie showing up at the Eras Tour! Taylor didn't spend long enough with either of the beards for "so long" to make any sense as being about them. How do you make a comeback when you're barely a thing to begin with? Karlie's comeback was headline news though.
"So when I touch down
Call the amateurs and cut 'em from the team
Ditch the clowns, get the crown"
Her football fan baby ("fly like a jet stream") is touching down and coming to sweep away the understudies, users, narcissists and clowns. King of my Heart coming to reclaim her crown! We can only hope 🙏
"Cause the sign on your heart says it's still reserved for me"
Taylor can rewrite history all she wants, but Tratty was never a thing and no-one with a brain can buy the idea that he was the love of her life ten years ago, while Kissgate was happening right in front of him. Peak Kaylor era. When we all saw with our own eyes how she looked at Karlie! But, no, it was Matty all along! Sure, Jan.
Meanwhile, even the "anyone but Karlie" Gaylors who hate her can't deny Taylor has been writing songs about Karlie for a decade now. Even they think she's not over her. So who "still" has Taylor's heart and could make a comeback? Mmhmm.
"I circled you on a map"
Flashback to Taylor highlighting Kaylor-related towns on the weather map in the Lavender Haze music video. Uh-huh.
"Who are we to fight the alchemy?"
Alchemy is the process of turning things into gold. Are we really going to sit here and pretend this isn't Ms Gold Rush, Ms "it's like your eyes are liquor, it's like your body is gold"? Are we really going to pretend Karlie hasn't been gold coded since the beginning? But no! This is about Travis! Totally! Does your blindfold fit snugly enough, babe, or do you want me to tighten it some more for you? 🙄
"Hey, what if I told you we're cool
That child's play back in school
Is forgiven under my rule?"
The child's play is the bearding. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. It's getting so old to never grow up. Karlie is saying it all means nothing.
"These blokes warm the benches
We've been on a winning streak"
Her British beards have just been keeping Karlie's seat warm. While she and Taylor have privately been on a winning streak.
(Seriously, the construction of this song makes no sense if you believe it's about Travis. How could she have been "on a winning streak" with him, while "these blokes" were present-tense warming the benches? Or are we supposed to believe they're just waiting on the sidelines for Taylor to get back with one of them? Even though things are so great with 🚜 and she's said multiple times she doesn't want that? So . . . how is any of this working, exactly? What benches are they warming? Are we SURE the "we" is Travis? Hmm?)
"He jokes it's heroin but this time with an e"
People are so distracted by this "dig at Matty" they can't see what's right in front of their faces. Heroin with an e = heroine. As in, the female hero of a story. The joke is that the one to "save" Taylor won't be any of these jokers dressing up as kings. It's a woman. A HEROINE. Not a hero.
And then we get a football metaphor everyone will assume is about Travis, even though Karlie's love of football is well-documented. Do we really think Travis cares more about the beard he's made his meal ticket than he does about winning a trophy? Yeah, right. The days of wasted celebration with no Taylor in sight really give that impression. The thirst traps he was liking on Instagram while "dating" Taylor really show he only has eyes for her. Totally.
Meanwhile we have a million songs where Taylor tells us all her obviously-Karlie lover ever wanted was her.
I can't see The Alchemy any other way than as a Karlie comeback song. Bring it home, Karlie! We're all rooting for you! Go! Fight! Win! 🏆
Wow, Anon! I love this take! Lots of food for thought.

Stray thoughts from an unhinged mind and a song called Robin
Since my teens, I have always been a Karlie Kloss fan. No amount of vitriol from the Swifty’s has strayed or strained my conviction that Karlie is on many levels, a better human than Taylor Swift.
By that I mean, she just seems to project a warmth and level of kindness and humanity out into the world that is so pure and honest, when compared to Taylors, sometimes vengeful and darker persona. That being said, that’s exactly why I believe Karlie’s sunshine is the perfect match for Taylor and her midnight rain.
I’ll continue.
While listening to songs off of the TTPD I was stopped dead in my tracks when I came to the song, Robin. I listened three times and found a tear rolling down my right cheek. There was something so raw, so pure and so painful in those lyrics. I had to sit with my thoughts for a while but I feel the need to share.
Sidebar confession yes, I’m a Kaylor. I firmly believe Taylor, Swift, and Karlie Kloss had a long running relationship.
I believe it started prior to the public meet up and long before the your kitchen or mine cookie post.
I believe Taylor and Karlie first met when Taylor was showing up at fashion shows that Karlie was walking in as far back as 2009. Were they had a relationship then? Probably not, but the sparks were there the foundation was there. The attraction was there. The seeds planted.
Think Love Story lyrics “We were both young when I first saw you” which I believe Taylor wrote about Karlie and which also happens to be Karlies favorite song. I believe they had an ongoing relationship that continued on until
2017, 2018 and then I believe something happened and they broke up, but as many long-term relationships often do I also believe the two of them reunited somewhere in 2020.
I’m not going to pretend that I know what has happened because honestly I do not. None of us do. Yes , Karlie got married but there have been clues and way too many koincidences to simply chalk up to being coincidences. I don’t believe their connection went away or ever will for that matter. They are and will forever be tied together even in times they are apart.
I’ve read all the theories. I’ve heard all the rumors ,I’ve been to the rabbit hole, I’ve climbed out, I’ve fallen back in, and most days now you’ll find me sitting on the edge dangling my feet still kinda wondering. I live my life ~ they live theirs.
So am I a LSK? not really, but open to the possibility that Taylor and Karlie are in one of those kind of “relationships” where as hard as they try ~they just can’t seem to quit each other and they go through periods of on and off times. “pauses” is what I like to call the brakes along the way.
Yes, Karlie is married but is she really married? In the traditional sense of what we all consider marriage to be? Does she love Josh? I’m sure she does- but the real question is…is she IN love with Josh? which I don’t believe she ever has been. That level of chemistry, no matter how hard the pictures are posed just isn’t there.
And yes, Taylor has had her share of relationships but have they been real? Have they had their moments? probably. Did some become more than PR for a brief period of time. Possibly but if I’m being honest, as I observe from the treetops all of Taylor’s relationships and Karlies relationship with Josh, never reach the level of the real connection that I saw between Taylor and Karlie. All that being said, I’ll get back to my original point of this ramble and that’s a song called Robin.
So yes, I’ve heard the rumors, I’ve read the theories, I’ve seen photographs as visual evidence. Karlie Kloss was in Los Angeles during the pandemic, the same place where Taylor was in 2020. I’ve heard the rumor that there was a ceremony between them that they tried to pass off as a ceremony between Taylor and Joe which tree later denied that there ever a ceremony of “any type”.
I’ve seen the “turkey baster”( IVF ) post that strangely Karlie made. Like who uses a turkey baster in May?
Tumblr media
I’ve seen the cinnamon buns ( in the oven) post that Taylor made a few days later back in 2020. Is that a crazy set of coincidences?
Tumblr media
Absolutely, considering the fact that Levi was born about nine months later. Add the fact of how emotional Taylor got accepting her Grammy for Folklore when Arron thanked his wife and kids. For a few moments there you could feel the raw emotion in her as she nearly burst into tears as Jack tried to console her.
Tumblr media
Sidebar . Yes Aaron has a son named Robin but he’s 9 years old and other than the name cleverly used for gentle cover there is no connection to that child or secret or anything that would make Taylor react as she did.
But the fact that Levi’s birth was announced during the Grammys does.
So I’ll just put a pin in that and move on.
Listening to that ballad yesterday rocked my
entire world. It was so soft, so gentle so heart wrenching that I just let my emotions flow through me as my mind wandered back gathering and processing all the previous rumors and lore I had heard along the way.
So now I’m just gonna say it out loud, what if it all was true ? could Levi be Karlie’s and Taylor’s child? I know it sounds crazy…secret love child.
Lock me up but…
…those loving words ,the emotion in Taylor‘s voice as she sings about her strong heartfelt attachment a young toddler, as she encourages him being wild and free, roaring at his dinosaurs~

She also advocates for him keeping his innocence for as long as possible and speaks of a secret that a inner circle of people have chosen to keep from him in sweetness to protect him and the showmanship to cover up that secret that he has no idea of.
And as she watches his unabashed play in his virgin purity she also knows there will come a time when the world he faces will have harsh words for him and reminds him he will bounce back like he does on his trampoline.
“ and you have no idea
