for a long time, definitely. I tried getting away with not having my face on my profile (which is something hinge allows apparently!) but the more I accepted my sexuality, the less I cared. I want my whole personality to shine through and I didn’t want my profile to be only about feedism, so I made my profile how I normally would and just mentioned it casually. I wasn’t that concerned about running into people I know because I was only looking for men/mascs and trans & non binary folks, and pretty much all of my friends are either cis women or don’t have a dating profile. I don’t have a large social circle. I did use a fake nickname though.

the thing about being judged is, people will just swipe left if they hold those beliefs. I had a few people who swiped to talk to me because they wanted to know more and then decided they hated the idea, and that kind of interaction just doesn’t bother me as much anymore. I never sent anyone messages or initiated conversation because I wanted to be respectful, especially of other fat ppl. since users can send you an intro on hinge, I kinda just waited for messages that said “I’m into that too” instead of swiping on people. that’s how I met my boyfriend!
