Instead of cat fighting Jude & Nicesia got along in the most crucial moment while cardan was a serpen. They loved the same guy and they fought for him together though they didn't like each other. This was totally out of the blue plot we didn't expect. But Holly Black nicely showed jude & nicesia might be enemies but they can work together for the betterment of their love.

Jude & Jacks are very strong emotionally. Both of them have the quality of getting things they want. They're very dedicated to their goals. They can kill people if they need to protect their loved ones. And they're kinda shy to admit to themselves also that they fell in love.

In one of the bonus epilogues evangeline mentioned about pink and white apples in the apple grove so in magnificent north maybe it's common to see multicolored apples. Which actually explains the apple colors jacks was eating.

Also the apple feels like lips. So jacks was reducing his urge of kissing by biting apples as he can't crash his lips to evangeline. In the canon epilogue when evangeline asked him about the apples he said he didn't need it anymore and kissed evangeline hence proved apples were needed to surpass the kissing urge.
