He would pronounce “LMAO” unironically. And homie would be “hey fam!” And if things go wrong he would go “son of a b” like Dean Winchester

Ominis: Could see him deadpan, very sarcastically say "yaas slay queen" whenever Sebastian has bad ideas just to make sure he knows he should feel shame for his bullshit.

Anemone: She has her own odd expressions so she rarely uses slang, or does so inappropriately.

Weasley: Ah yes, this is very yeet isn't it broski? Let us fortnite dance, I stan your performance in my classes.

Aodh: Once he makes closer friends at Hogwarts, I could totally see him overusing the slang “Fam” when referring to them in a modern setting.

Bjorn: Bjorn wouldn’t likely try to adhere to modern slang at all during his time at Hogwarts, but I could see him in a public relaxed setting trying to squeeze words he’s heard other native speakers say into his dialogue both incorrectly and wildly out of context. If I had to pick one, “send it.” “Yes, of course. So I told my student, even if they were incomplete with their essay to just send it. Just send it. What’s the worst that could happen? Not a zero.”

Althea Rose “Slay” “This shit fucks” in approval “vibes”

Samuel Wood Saying “bet” to acknowledge everything. Would try and call a girl his “hoe” once and get his ass set straight.

𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐞 would be those people who would use “highkey/lowkey” Ex: “I’m down for some food but lowkey I want some desserts right now.” “I am highkey annoyed and stressed” Then “mood” just cause someone would say “I’m tired” and she’ll add in. “Ha mood”

QotD 8: Would your character keep their room messy or clean? How would they decorate their room?

Anemone:

Messy af; She has piles of things around her bed to dig through. She has all sort of random stuff around to decorate, from bits of art she did put up around her bed to items she picked up- she also often has fresh flowers nearby since she finds them cool. Oh and don't look under her bed, she tends to push stuff there- and her niffler has made it his den so perhaps DO look under her bed if you've lost something precious recently.

Ominis: Clean, partly out of necessity (it's much easier to navigate the world without sight when you know where things are reliably!) and partly because of habit and education (he was raised to always look very neat given his family's status). He doesn't have much decorations since it's kind of useless to him but he did try to replace his bedsheets with fancier, smoother, more pleasant to touch ones.

Weasley: Mostly tidy, with that slightly messy look you get when you have items from all over the world on your shelves- she has quite a few souvenirs and fun trinkets she keeps and make her room look more lived in. Once in a while she might let a shirt hang over her bed's headboard because she's tired but she's usually on top of things- the only messy thing that seems to be a staple in her room is a stack of book next to her bed.

𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐞: always clean and tidy cause that’s just how she’s raised. There will be moments though where it’s her desk area that’ll have the most mess but everywhere else in the room would be clean and tidy. The only “bad habit” is she doesn’t make her bed often.

Althea Rose: Cluttered is the word. She has world traveler parents who emphasized a love for things, knick knacks, trinkets!!! So I imagine any space she's in, she'll make her own by cluttering it with anything she takes a liking to. She absolutely likes eclectic styles, and her room isn't decorated with style in mind, but rather making it a reflection of everything she loves. Even if the colors clash.

Samuel Wood: He is man living on his own for the first time and has no clue how to decorate personified. It is clean, but would be nearly barren, besides the necessities and one poster someone bullied him into adding. I don't think at this stage of his life yet he'd keep plants in his room, he'd be too embarrassed his parents would see, or someone else whose mean, and judge him for it. But in a few years he'll be a houseplants everywhere sort of guy.

Aodh: Immaculate…but does he spend any time there?

Bjorn: Cluttered, but not messy. Trinkets, Pictures, Maps, and Baubles fill the empty places upon his shelves and tabletops. His desk is left tidy, spare the few pieces of parchment or book laid across its surface.

Craig: He's a very sentimental person, so most of his decorating usually involves things that are either given to him by friends and family, or things that mean something to him. Photographs and posters commemorating special events, letters from home, and various trinkets and souvenirs make up the bulk of his decoration. It doesn't really matter to him whether it looks good or not. Really, he's probably put more effort into Juniper's enclosure (he refuses to call it a cage) than he has his own dorm room.

Clara: Clara’s room at home tends to wildly fluctuate between being pristine tidy and a hot mess. There is no middle ground. At school she has to be more considerate of her roommates.

Ayumi: Tidy, probably a few vases of fresh flowers around

Gyda: Books! Books everywhere!! And maps. And all of her suitcases neatly piled in a corner… still to be unpacked. Or maybe just waiting for the next adventure!

𝐑𝐚𝐟𝐚𝐞𝐥: Half messy half not. He’s the type to collect silly stuff so it depends on his mood if he wants to properly put it away or just throw it under the bed

QotD 7: What would someone smell if they smelt your character in their amortentia potion?

Clara:

A meadow of wildflowers after rain. Mud, parchment

Anemone: Smells of Ink (her fingers are often stained by it), slightly coppery (she carries coins for her niffler), hay (she's often out adventuring) and a freshly baked pie (she loves to make jams and pies to give to people using her family farms' produces).

Ominis: Fresh soap (the old Marseille Soap kind), Lavender, hints of honey and peppermint. (He cares greatly about his personal hygiene since it's how he really can feel pretty accordingly to his own senses and prefers less powerful smells, so often he simply sticks to having pressed lavender in his laundry and washing thoroughly to smell nice- and he's made a habit of carrying some candies lately since he works at honeydukes).

Weasley: Parchments (paperwork lol), old books and earl grey (her favorite tea)

Althea Rose: Citrus and Vanilla. Easy. Girl is a goddamn creamsicle.

Samuel Wood: Gardenia, Cedar, Potting soil

𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐞: Since she’s been taught to smell “like a lady” (thanks to her father) she was gifted with Jasmine perfume. She wears is not too often so usually she would smell like books because of how much she study and reads. A very small hint of Butterbeer because she tends to study at the Three Broomsticks almost every other day.

Aodh: The smell of the air after the rain in spring, an autumn breeze full of the bouquet of fallen leaves, a bit of cinnamon.

Bjorn: Pine Trees, Salty Sea-Spray, and the scent of Honey and Lavender.

Opal: Strawberry and Caramel

Otto: Cypress and Old Parchment

Sebastian: Pine Tree and Campfire and betrayal if you ask Ominis

Craig: It would smell like fresh lemonade, crystallized pineapple, crisp evening air, honey, and frosted lavender.

Ayumi: Lotus flowers and jasmine… hint of vanilla

Gyda: Sand. Does sand have a smell? Sea salt and dusty caves

QotD 6: Why is their name, their name?

Aodh:

In the Macolair family, as early as their beginnings in 700AD Scotland, their lineage had been marked by an occasional representation of brilliant red hair, and coincidentally, those same wizards being leagues more gifted than their family members. Old poems and lore had been passed down about the ‘FireCrown’ gifted to a select few, but it’s legitimacy was hardly proven. None the less, Aodh’s Father, one without the gift named him an old Gaelic name for “Fire” in light of his son’s hair color. An old name shared by many great FireCrowns in their past.

Bjorn: When their baby boy was born to the happy couple, Bjorn’s father already knew his wife had been plagued for most of her life by the Maledictus curse, that forced her to assume the shape of a bear. It was a shame and a burden she carried for her entire life. Knowing that she would one day be taken by it, Mr. Kaldberg, out of love and reverence to his wife and newborn son, named him the Norse name for “bear”, so that his wife may know his love for her, and his son would never forget her.

𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐞: Her parents had no idea for names at all so they decided if something happens on the day she was born, she would be named something that’s related to that. Then on the day she was born, the moon was at its brightest shining over London and because of how it shined through their hospital room, her mom thought about Selene, the Greek Goddess of the Moon.

Anemone: Her parents liked the flower and thought it was a cute name for her, that's about it. As for her last name- it follows traditional naming conventions. She's from a family of farmers known mostly for their berries, and their land has a very old, big oak tree on it- hence Oakberry.

Samuel Wood: Samuel was my favorite of the most popular boy names of the era, it's just a really sweet name honestly lol. And who could forget Oliver Wood, legendary quidditch team member in the original HP series? Means the surname is canon, I don't know if they have a connection I care to build, but I liked the ring to it.

Gyda: Gyda Thorne. Just a name I’ve reused for various different RP settings. Thorne coincidentally is the name of one of the games minor villains (an Ashwinder) who looks old enough to be Gyda’s aunt, and it fits with one reason her mother has little to do with ‘that side’ of the family

QotD 5: Does your character prefer sweet, salty, sour, spicy, or neutral tastes?

Feel free to answer these with your own OCs even if you're not on our server :) Craig:

Craig's spice tolerance is all but nonexistent. That said, if someone makes him spicy food, he'll still eat it. Even if he's dying on the inside, he'd rather suffer than risk being impolite. Apart from that, his flavor preference does vary a bit depending on his mood. He actually has quite the affinity for sour candies, with his favorite being lemon sherbet drops. But he also enjoys salty/sweet combos, like salted caramel or chocolate covered pretzels. He like sweets too, but tends to gravitate more towards fruity flavors as opposed to straight up sugar. He loves candied fruits as a result.

Althea: Althea loves all sweets, sours, and spicies. Citrus is her favorite flavor, so that sour and sweet comes into play here. Her very first thread in the server was a spicy crisp challenge! She'd happily replicate that, as much as it got her in trouble with the professors. She was raised by world traveler parents who consistently introduced her to foods from all sorts of cultures, so I imagine her biggest issue would be with food that, well, lacked flavor. So much for enjoying the food at Hogwarts then, hahaha.

Samuel: He's definitely a fan of salty flavors. His first pick for snacks would be crisps, or fries. His palate is not as developed, given he'd been raised on a rural farm, but I can't imagine he'd be a picky eater at all. He's just yet to be introduced to more options.

Clara: All the tastes

Ayumi: Sweet!

Gyda: Savoury, a gal needs meat

𝐑𝐚𝐟𝐚𝐞𝐥: Sweets. Homie ALL about sweets.

Anemone: likes them all except sour things. Salt and sweet are nice and comforting, while spicy is fun and exciting. She's surprisingly good at handling spices too (see: Althea's crisp challenge).

Ominis: He has a sweet-tooth. He does like salty stuff too and can handle some sourness but prefers milder tasting things, and really isn't a fan of spicy things. He's got a good palate and doesn't like destroying his taste buds with very hot items.

Weasley: definitely into sweets, but can handle it all and will try anything once- she is a Gryffindor after all.

Aodh: Generally, like many kids of his age, he still has quite the sweet tooth, but cannot handle sour foods, at all. His face would scrunch up into something nearly unrecognizable. Everything else he feels pretty neutral about, and just likes good food.

Bjorn: Generally aimed toward savory flavors and salty snacks, Bjorn has an aversion to both sickingly sweet foods and spicy ones. (looking at you Anenome and Althea.)

QotD 4: How quick is your character to anger?

Feel free to answer these with your own OCs even if you're not on our server :)

Opal:

Not at all, Opal is usually always looking for the positives even in the worst cases. Given the fact she deals with customers all day at Honeydukes, she's used to the customer service life, and takes a lot to actually get angry. Even when she is angry, she is usually a master of hiding it, though she does have a breaking point it's very hard to push her that far.

Sebastian: It doesn't take him much to get angry, though this can mostly come through in showing him being annoyed or jealous pretty quickly. My boy is trying to work on it, but it definitely doesn't take much to set him off. Althea: I didn't initially write her with a short temper in mind, but having written her out a lot now and coming more into her own I think she is a bit... quick to anger. It's most often justified, but she'll definitely exhibit the cliché signs of anger by stiffening up, pacing, cursing, getting red in the face. Samuel: Not an angry guy, but not a pushover. Okay, maybe a bit of a pushover when it comes to himself, but he'd be very quick to anger if he feels like someone he cares about is the one threatened. I can imagine him taking a punch for someone with no question about it.

Ominis: He's kind of lowkey angry 24/7 at the general state his life is in tbh but he rarely lets it show. He's mostly decided it was useless to express it since obviously it doesn't do shit, right? Trying to focus on more positive things and helping himself not be stuck in a constant negativity loop. Anemone: A true hippie, doesn't need to smoke to be chill man. She does get angry once in a while about certain things, like if you bring up poachers she can rant about them for a while, but most of the time she's rather easy to calm down. Also- she cries when really angry. She cries whenever she feels anything strongly to be fair but... Yeah she might cry and yell at you when pissed off for good. Weasley: If she was quick to anger she'd change job. She can get a bit riled up, and can scold students, but most of the time it's out of concern for them. She rarely gets truly angry. She does get very annoyed at her boss though, but it doesn't usually show. Maybe a snide comment here and there when he's away.

Aodh: “What is Anger? does it involve crying?” In all seriousness, Aodh is sooner to cry and avoid a situation if it brings him emotional distress. If he was unable to leave an upsetting circumstance, and it continued to elevate, he might respond in anger, but it would be slow to build and quick to apologize.

Bjorn: In his youth, he certainly had a bit of a temper. (Holding an unjust grudge on his father after his mother had passed.) However, in his later years, he appears more grumpy and disgruntled, before becoming actually angry by anything. More than naught, he uses his grumpy demeanor with the students to maintain a sense of authority, but with his peers he’s much more complacent and easy going. If he does get angry, he would be hot and loud, and likely hold a grudge.

𝐑𝐚𝐟𝐚𝐞𝐥: He gets annoyed more quick. Anyone could see in his eyes that he’s upset but he always kept a smile so he doesn’t completely lose his cool. He tends to take walks by himself if he gets to the point of anger to cool off and oddly doesn’t really talk to anyone until he’s okay.

November 7th. She’s a Scorpio on the same way it’s unexpected that she’s a Slytherin until you get to know her. She definitely cares about her birthday but she wouldn’t tell anyone that!

Aodh:February 28th. His birthday was an important thing to him as it often times was when his father would be less strict and he’d be able to spend more time with his mother. While it’s lost some luster in his years at Hogwarts being away from home, he still tries to do something special, even if it’s by himself.

QotD 2: How does your character speak? (Pitch, tone, volume, accent)

Bjorn:

He’s got a proper and professional manner of speaking to his students, and most of his colleagues, understanding English, and other languages, well enough, but doesn’t have a firm grasp of idioms or slang, outside his native tongue. He’s got a gruff, baritone kind of voice, with a slight Northern European accent, and his voice carries due to its volume and pitch.

Anemone: Most of the time she tries to not have too obvious an accent- but it's still there, so you can usually tell she's Irish rather quickly. She speaks fast. Like way too quick sometimes if she gets excited about things, and may have issues with volume control at times. She may also be very hard to cutoff- because once she's started she just doesn't. ever. stop. Pitch wise it's not too low nor too high- it's actually quite pleasant if you get her to sing. Getting her angered or flustered will also likely make the accent stronger.

Selene: From accent alone, anyone can tell she’s a London girlie. Since she grew up speaking more Taglish (Tagalog+English) her accent would slip if she’s a bit stressed, angry, or something surprises her. Due to her shyness her voice is normally soft and sometimes hesitant when it comes to something new. When she does gain more confident or in more 1-1 conversations her soft voice is more upbeat and casual. When it deals with more professional manners, she goes monotone and formal. This happens often when she’s in MoM for her father. Selene gets curious often so her head tilts and her voice gets into a higher excited pitch, a bit of a comforting sound. She tends to hide a lot of her laughs so it tends to be a bit of snickering or light chuckles. When she’s truly passionate, her shy personality seems to flip and her soft voice becomes more hyped with a more teethy smile that comes with it.

Samuel: Sam’s voice runs a deeper tonally and he has a slight drawl thanks to his farm upbringing. It’s taken him some practice to liven up his speech to maintain his charismatic aura, but he can use the deepening of his voice to his advantage as he wishes. He’d very much have one of those laughs where they look like they’re dying from a laughing fit but it comes out completely silent. He speaks just slightly faster and higher pitched when trying convince everyone else (including himself) of things that aren’t true.
