THEY CALL BRAN AND THE OTHERS: VICTORS ! but what are they really, except for a glorified pack of dogs on a leash? πππ, ππππ ππππ π ππ ... he owns it with his hand on their leads; but some of them are blind or are just too new to realize it. bran's had time to learn that the collars they wear have spikes in them, but that doesn't stop himself from bleeding dry on them, staining himself with the blood of πππππ πππππππππ.
throwing back a small plated hors d'oeuvres, the victor watches with hollow eyes at the fanciful colors that surround him ( some of which are warn by his fellow victors ) and remains close to the edge of the garden. they were all dragged out of their districts for a purpose, some more condemned than others, but bran had- had his fair share of tonight's events to grow bone tired from them; instead πππ’πππ over the occasional sip of a wine glass, nodding in greeting at the fellow victor that has settled beside him.
she was smart to escape the crowds, though sooner rather than later the public would find this little retreat away from the party too, they at least for these few moments πππ π ππππππππ and some allowance to breathe without president snow's gaze carving grueling demands into their backs. the same could not be said for some of the others.

THE RAIN CLOUDS WERE CHANGING, all but threatening a torrential down pour like they haven't yet seen this season. high ground was safe, it would help keep them dry and keep their supplies from spoiling, but firstβ after they climbed this ridgeβ they'd need to find shelter for that; and from more than just the elements.
" π’ππ'ππ π ππππππ. "
next: grasping at limestone, his finger tips dig into naturally borne cracks and crevices, and yank himself up after herβ the point of his tennis shoe, bending as he applies pressure and grinds the front sole against the bluff. though the climb wasn't high, even a twisted ankle from a fall of only a couple yards πππππ πππππ πππππ; bran had seen lesser take men and women alike down and out for the foreseeable count.

IT'S A BIT OF A CLIMB, BUT NOTHING MONSTROUS. ground any higher will do them good while the rain comes down, aimless as it is irksome as it is persistent. she digs her toe against silt at the base of the ledge, unimpressed with its hold, but is taken by bran's offer - a steady boost. β thanks. β the girl takes it, hauls herself up by sheer will over strength, thankful for rock more solid where the water hasn't worn it.

NO ONE WOULD TELL HIM, BUT BRAN KNEW. he had died under the surface of ππππ ππππ, same as the girl he'd speared through and through using her own sword. he didn't know for sure, but for four minutes and thirty seven seconds the capitol's finest doctors had worked on resuscitating him; emptying bran's lungs of water, and restarting his heart.
after all, what was their game π ππππππ π ππππππ ?
" be careful with him. " a doctor warns arthur as the two men stand in the doorway of bran's hospital room: the blond boy in question staring up and ahead at the panels of the ceiling, mostly numb from the pain medicine coursing through his veins and the harsh reality that he had been tugged back from a brink, ππππ πππππ’ πππππ πππππ ππ ππππ πππππ? had not been.

" β NOEL ! " bran jerks upright then, pulling on multiple wires that cause more screeching to echo throughout the room, the doctor attempting to go back on his word and block arthur's entry into the room, calling over the other's head for more assistance.
