The origins in DA:O changed how characters/players interacted with the world. Context made you feel differently about places, quests, and people.  A random npc might incite joy or heartbreak or even a blinding rage in one warden, but to any other…it’s just another person.

I just…I guess it’s small details like that and just how much of a difference they made that I miss the most in DA2 and DA:I.

This scene right here is why F!Tabris is my favourite origin. What happens to Tabris is horrible, terrifying, hits close to home, and I 100% understand people who can’t play it because of the subject matter. But she makes it. And more than just making it, the story is hers. Soris very literally passes her the key to her own freedom, giving her control. She saves herself, she saves Shianni an the others, and she gets to personally see that Vaughn and his friends get the justice they would otherwise never see, because the justice system is a human run system for humans, with no care for elven lives. It’s a powerless story, empowered.
