i really want to start ballet classes again but i have no time and i think people will make fun of me because i am overweight (i still have a decent elongation, btw) it's been 4 years without dancing and i really want to do it again, i also want to start contemporary dance but i don't for the same reasons ):

oh, my darling…! i understand not having quite enough time, but i feel the need to tell you that your weight should *never* stop you from pursuing something close to your heart! a little while back, i came across a video about “overweight” ballerinas, and let me tell you, the girl that this video was spotlighting is an *amazing* dancer. the way she moves is enticing, just as any other dancer. 😌 she’s strong and passionate, and dances in a way that i could never even dream of achieving! there will always be people who are skeptical about the things you choose to do in alignment with your size, but that just helps you to disregard those individuals as people you don’t want in your life. i actually find that most people tend to think it’s inspiring more than anything. :-) like, “look at her! she’s confident! she doesn’t let any boundaries get in her way!” you can be larger and do dance, do yoga, do marathons. try your best to disregard what society deems as “appropriate” to partake in, based on your size. dance your heart out. try to build yourself up to pursuing this craft by dancing at home in the meantime - because we are only allowed one existence, and you should be able to try anything you like with *your* body! i hope this is encouraging, lovely. i know it’s incredibly hard to love yourself, and all-too easy to worry about what others think. i deal with this paranoia every day. but never disregard the things that call to your heart and soul, because you are allowed to thrive. i believe in you! 😊💕🌟
