This can be considered dead, and it has been even during future because I hate how they just butchered my favorite candle lady’s character twice. First make her embarrassed at being called a child and then act like she’s going to change? Yeah Whatever. But then somehow make her look even more pathetic and cry over what she did and make her attention seeking too? Yeah needless to say I am disappointed. A part of me does still want to rp as White, but perhaps not exactly a canon based one. More like one that is secretly sending gems out to kill Steven because she got tired of pretending to accept all these changes. I have no clue what I’ll do yet. Do I keep this blog or make a new main for this?

Can we please talk about how White Diamond clearly got something from her experience with Steven in Homeworld Bound. As we can see here:

Steven is still very uncomfortable with White Diamond touching him for………………….. obvious reasons…………….

But then in I Am My Monster, when everyone else just smack themselves against Steven to hug him, she just??? places her hands???? on his arm?????? w an awkward smile?????????????????????????????

Therapist: So tell me about your family.

Steven: Well my dad is a failed rock star who ran away from home and raised me in a van that he still lives in.

Steven: My mom ran away from home too, only she started an intergalactic war and ended up faking her own death.

Therapist: Oh... okay

Steven: Yeah and her family tried to kill me a few times but we get along now.

Therapist: Uhhh

Steven: Though I was also raised by some of my mom's friends. There are three of them. Well I guess one of them is actually 2 people in a relationship.

Therapist: *Already writing down about 5 kinda of meds to put this kid on.*

But like could we just imagine they're first session and Steven has to retell his entire backstory. The Therapist sitting there trying to be professional and not show emotion but deep down is like this kid has been through some shit.

Then they're going back to their studies and talking to peers as how to handle this whole situation.

Steven's Therapist: how can I possible get through to him? How can I relate or help without it being condescending? Should I treat him as a human or would I damage him further? Or is that what he needs??? This kid turned into a giant monster when he broke down- will i be able to talk him down if that happens again???

They're peer that probably went to college with them: *drinks a shot of tequila* dude. You're fucked.

Well...remember how Cartoon Network always rushed that show more than the others?

reasons why the ending didn’t sit well with me

They didn’t show the actual process of Steven healing. That time skip made things feel so rushed. They should’ve taken the time to show the process of recovery! The writers took the time to say “hey! Steven has depression and probably some PTSD!” so they should’ve taken time to show the process of healing, which is just (if not more helpful) than showing a kid dealing with all of this.

Because of the time skip, Steven didn’t really feel like he was in a stable place that would’ve made leaving worthwhile. We didn’t see him recovering, so it casts a shadow of doubt over the whole premise of him leaving being a good thing.

As if him leaving isn’t sketchy enough, the fact that Steven says he might not ever come back seems so out of character

“That’s not Steven anymore”…then who is it?? They never really addressed that comment from one of the diamonds. Who is it? Pink? Rose?

If Steven being corrupted was a Thing, they should’ve done that in the movie and ended it there! It would’ve felt more satisfying and it might be taken more seriously than spinel’s storyline (though it is heartbreaking, we never knew her for more than the duration of the movie).

Didn’t traveling not help Steven in that earlier episode with Greg? What makes this the right option now?

Yay! Steven and Connie kissed! …But like…can we see the work it took to get to that place in their relationship again after the proposal (which also felt SO out of place since we just saw the two of them hold hands ONCE for the first time??)

I’m not gonna lie, I seriously doubt Steven’s hiding an injured hand. Here’s my reasoning. 

A) This is the same dude who got slammed into craters as a kid and straight up walked it off. I really, really doubt him punching something is gonna hurt him badly enough to have to hide it from the gems.  B) He has healing powers. He could literally just smooch himself better. Even if his powers were going wonky due to emotional instability, why on Earth would he run into the house past the gems and his room? There’s warp pads all over Earth. He could literally just warp to the fountain without going anywhere near the house.
