I had to give myself some time to think since yesterday. Aside from feeling tired from lack of sleep, at the same time I was finding solace. And I still am. Yet I’m not sure how I’ll ever deal with the fact that I have to experience a rollercoaster of emotions between the day I was born and the day the angels called for him. And I feel like those will forever be the days, especially the days in between, where I’ll be the most vulnerable. But that doesn’t mean I have to give up what I had built here almost half my life. The intention of this place was to see how far I’ll go. I made no promise to myself because I felt that if I did, this place would stop existing without rhyme or reason. I just did it, and I’ll do it again.

This place became something more. It became my place of refuge, a place of dedication and stepping out of my comfort zone. A place where I share all my blood, sweat, and tears stained on paper and on canvas. A place where it gives me strength to continue what I love to do since childhood. Why should I have this place cease to exist because of the grief and heartache? All the hard work I’ve put into this place would’ve been for nothing.

I understand that time waits for no one and that we have to move forward and not back, even though it takes time to heal. Even if he’s not here physically, his soul will move with us, for that I’m certain. I don’t consider this as a farewell or a goodbye. I consider this as “let me rest and I’ll see you later.”

This place will always be here and I will continue my dedication here. Until then, give me time to draw.
