ART 30 PROPOSAL
Project Proposal #1
In preparation for my upcoming photography project, I am excited to embark on a new venture: capturing my cousin's senior portraits. While I have not previously delved into senior portrait photography, I've been dedicating my weekends to scouting different locations, assessing what works best and what doesn't. My cousin has graciously agreed to be my model, and I am determined to ensure that I place him in the right lighting and settings to highlight his unique personality and essence.
I firmly believe that every individual possesses their own unique charm that deserves to be celebrated through art. As I've perused various senior portrait portfolios, I've noticed a certain sameness in many of them, and I can't help but feel that I might inject a fresh perspective into this genre. I have been giving full creative freedom and access to the subject from his mother.
Now, you might wonder why I've taken on this project if it doesn't hold great personal significance for me. The answer is quite simple: while senior portraits may not hold a special place in my heart, they clearly do for my cousin. Rather than have him spend a substantial amount, potentially up to $350, on a photographer for a brief session yielding just a handful of pictures, I'd prefer to help him save that money for something more substantial and meaningful.
I understand that the value of senior portraits may vary from person to person. Some might cherish them as mementos of their high school years, proudly displaying them on their walls as symbols of their accomplishments. However, for many, these photos may eventually gather dust, forgotten amidst the demands of adult life, career pursuits, long commutes, and all the challenges that come with it.
In my endeavor to save money for my cousin, I intend to use my camera, possibly a tripod, and some lighting equipment. My creative vision also includes experimenting with low-light settings, as I have yet to encounter senior portraits captured in such an unconventional and intriguing atmosphere. By introducing this unique element, I hope to carve out a niche and deliver an exceptional set of senior portraits that will truly stand out.
In conclusion, my aim is not only to save my cousin some hard-earned cash but also to provide him with a set of senior portraits that are far from ordinary. I'm enthusiastic about this project and the opportunity to capture the essence of this important milestone in his life through my lens.
Project proposal #2
Subject: Capturing Santa Maria's Culinary Delights: A Food Truck Odyssey
I propose an exciting and mouthwatering photography project that will not only tantalize your taste buds but also provide valuable insights into the ever-expanding world of food trucks in Santa Maria, California.
I aim to capture the essence of the culinary revolution that has taken hold of our city. As a discerning food enthusiast, I understand the joy of discovering delectable dishes that are both reasonably priced and bursting with flavor. However, I've also experienced the frustration of lofty promises that lead to disappointment.
Santa Maria has recently witnessed an explosion of food trucks, each claiming to offer the most exceptional cuisine in the area. I have witnessed firsthand how some of these humble mobile kitchens have skyrocketed in popularity, eventually transforming into brick-and-mortar establishments. Interestingly, in some cases, this transition has led to a noticeable decline in food quality and overall experience.
My project aims to shed light on this phenomenon and more. I plan to showcase the individual food trucks, providing a visual feast for the eyes by capturing their unique personalities and mouthwatering creations. Each photograph will be accompanied by a brief, candid review of the taste, atmosphere, and overall experience, rated on a scale of 1 to 5.
To ensure a well-rounded evaluation, I will invite others to join me in this culinary adventure, offering a diverse range of perspectives. Together, we will explore the menus, savor the flavors, and determine which food trucks truly deliver on their promises. Additionally, I will document the cost of each meal to provide readers with essential information on affordability.
Ultimately, I aspire to create a comprehensive guide that will help our community distinguish between the culinary gems and the disappointments among Santa Maria's food trucks. In a city where your nose often leads the way to a great meal, I believe this project will serve as an invaluable resource for both residents and visitors.
This undertaking is deeply personal to me, as I share the same desire as many in Santa Maria: to savor the best food our city has to offer. I have been on the hunt for a genuinely good and affordable food truck experience, and this project will not only satisfy my curiosity but also benefit our community by spotlighting hidden gems and steering us clear of culinary pitfalls.
My goal is clear: to create a brief yet informative overview of the food trucks in Santa Maria, categorizing them as "decent" or "subpar." Together, we will embark on a flavorful journey to elevate our understanding of the local food scene.
