This is my example of how an experiment made me realise I know nothing and have so much to learn. I made this artwork in a time where I was in a pretty low place. I was trying desperately to take my mind off the current situation, so I found myself drawing in rough circles over and over before I moved onto the next. It was a calming motion, the deviations in the perfect form illustrates my inner turmoil. Hello new seed, welcome to the family! I wish you could hold this one. This seed has a furry exterior and the texture is glorious. Believe it or not, this is an example of when I was 'playing around' because I was struggling to think of a pattern I should paint on another seed. How amazing that something so unguided and 'uninspired' has turned into something I will never be able to replicate. 🐚You were first collected off the beach in Burleigh Heads on a cold windy afternoon in 2014.
I kept you on my table for a couple of years before you found yourself stored away in my dark crevices of the garage. Probably thinking that was your destiny.
One day I found you again and took you outside to bathe in the sun under the Japanese maple tree for summer, autumn and winter.
Your surface has changed drastically from the pure white when I first met you, now aging green moss from your slumbers in the sun.
I’m going to transform you again someday soon into something completely different once again, thank you for being so patient with me for all this time.

I was having such a busy day, rushing on a walk when my eyes laid on you.
You colour so vividly stood out from the boring fence you grew out from. Your form was so delicate that when I plucked you off your stem, I had to be careful your filaments didn’t fall off.
