who's your favorite bendy characters aside from sammy?
Humans: Susie, Norman, Wally and Bertrum.
I'm pretty sure I already posted a ranking of my favorite batim toons on here somewhere, but I no longer have least favorite characters because the slew of constant new bland ones from BATDR and the new one have made me look at Tom and Allison and thought: "you know what? Tom, you're interesting enough to look past that you murdered my favorite, and Allison? You still have the problem of being the bland 'nice' girl in canon when you'd work so much better as a puppetmaster villain, but at least we can do interesting stuff with the reveal that Joey used you as a scapegoat to his daughter."

i think my best tip for "how do i draw backgrounds" and especially "how do i learn to enjoy drawing backgrounds" is dont call them backgrounds to be honest... calling it a background presents it as secondary to the characters, which means people have a tendency to treat them as an afterthought. a chore. i see this a lot in comic spaces, a lot of peoples least favourite stage is "drawing the backgrounds"....
for me at least when i stopped thinking of it as "backgrounds" and instead as "environments", they stopped being a chore. bc it's like, well? theyre not some tedious afterthought, theyre generally actually the focus. taking the characters out of the environment would drastically change things, the place they're occupying is its own key character too who theyre also interacting with... i dunno. the way you think about things has a bit impact on how you draw them anyway

Can you explain why sammy lawrence and catnap are getting crossover? I'm just curious
My guess is pattern recognition, putting aside the fact they're both from Mascot horror games, both Sammy and Catnap are:
-Minor antagonists who worship the main antagonist.
-Victims of the workplace who were formerly human.
-Associated with sleep (Sammy's Sheep rhyme/Resurrections that happen so frequently it implies death is just an uncomfortable sleep for him, Catnap's moon charm/name/red smoke's ability)
-Seemingly neutral to one dog (Boris/Pugapillar) due to not interacting with them, but HATE the one they have interacted with (Tom/Dogday).
And they both:
-Live in the ruins of the workplace that turned them into these things.
-Have control over weaker enemies (Sammy summoned searchers in the Band Room, Dogday's monologue implies the mini critters work under him.)
-Lurk ominously letting the player catch glimpses of them throughout the chapter.
-Die to their Lord in the Chapter they're introduced in.

So I just saw a post by a random personal blog that said “don’t follow me if we never even had a conversation before” and?????? Not to be rude but literally what the fuck??????????
I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.
Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?
