“Her voice sounded wistful, but Ven didn’t trust it. She was a master at shielding her emotions. For all he knew, this pleasant greeting hid murderous rage.”

When she accepted to look after someone for Theo, she didn’t expect to be sitting all day long waiting for him to come home. If at least the person she was looking after was awake... but alas, he was still passed out. But this was the second day already, and knowing what to expect, Crystal brought over a book, a couple of things to distract herself. And so far, those proved to be useful. Then she got hungry, and ended up finding herself in the kitchen, trying to cook something... decent. Which ended up being soup. She was in the middle of it when she heard movement in the room, rushing back there only to find the person had woken up. “OMG! You’re awake! I thought that would never happen, and you were actually just going to die right there. But that’s amazing!” She let out all at once, instantly forgetting about the soup that was eating up in the kitchen. “I’m Crystal, by the way, Theo asked me to look after you while he’s out.”

He was so late, but he really couldn’t help it seeing as one of the current guests at the B&B had plenty of questions for him. Still, he tried to make it as fast as he could to the meeting place, getting some takeout on the way. “I’m so sorry I’m late, I was held back.” Jeffrey apologized, even if he’d already texted his daughter he’d be running late. “But I got us some takeout, so I hope you’re hungry.”
