Saix said the Heartless allies with whoever the strongest so I assumed anyone can control them but then I remember Maleficent gave the power to Riku

@joost8910 oh yeah hey that scene also confused me coz he can't open Dark Corridor but still can use other dark powers (I don't remember the name but it's similar to Terra's Dark Volley)

Why is it lower than controlling Heartless? Because Riku can already use Dark Corridor in Monstro before he got that power?

Though the gate he used was kind of different than the usual Dark Corridor, it's glowing, and I don't remember if it's just aesthetic... wait, no I think it is just aesthetic because Maleficent uses the same type of gate in Monstro and Ansem as well in his first appearance in Hollow Bastion

It's only once KHII and Re Chain started did they change the aesthetic

Also because he can't open Dark Corridor he can't go in and out of Realm of Darkness casually like Ansem

So yeah that sounds like it should be a higher level power than just shooting dark balls
