No one is discrediting the student protests. I myself am a student who is partaking in largely student-coordinated protests, drives, campaigns… but I also understand that we are largely missing the point if coverage of these protests overshadow what they are actually protesting for—the atrocities committed on Palestinians every single day. As the western buzz around this genocide gets more and more coverage, the coverage of the genocide itself sharply declines. It’s true and I see it every single day. Things are not being reported with the precision and diligence with which they should be.

according to ep 4 anthy had told utena she was sick of their giant inflatable octopus and thought it should be thrown away, implying that anthy only kept it to antagonize nanami. funniest aspect of when shes leaving to move in with touga and nanami is that you can see its tentacle sticking out of the giant suitcase shes using to accommodate it – every other time in the show she uses a smaller suitcase, & notably when she moves back in with utena like a day later. she definitely ‘accidentally left it’ at the kiryuu residence

the thing about madoka magica is that it has the vibe of something that would be super overrated by annoying people who have never actually experienced the object of its homage in earnest, but no, is literally just an extremely good magical girl show with dark elements. it just keeps showing its hand over and over again, but it has so much to offer on the other side of its misdirections. i saw it when i was a teenager and i think it might have transed my gender at the time
