“Cunt.” Adam retorted. “This is all your fault.”

“My fault? Fuck you. You never listen to fucking word I say.”

Adam and Lilith continued to argue and Lucifer shook his head. “They fight like cats and dogs. I don’t get why they don’t just leave each other alone.

Angel dust barely looked up from his phone, “that’s what you do with siblings. I argued all the time growing up with my twin sister. But we couldn’t stay away either. Not sure why heaven thought making a set of twins and calling them spouses wasn’t weird.”

“They’re not- they were made to be a pair!”

“You know what’s also a pair? Twins.”

“They don’t look alike.”

“Most twins don’t. Oh no, he has brown hair and she’s blonde, they can’t have a sibling dynamic. Look, they were made at the same time?”

“Yeah, Adam’s a couple minutes older, but yeah.”

“They were born in the same place, from the same stuff, raised in the same home, and spent a lot of time being forced together?”

“Twins.”

“They have the same interests, music. Same taste in men and women. You and Eve. And fight like crazy but won’t leave each other alone either. Besides they’re currently arguing about who’s taller and this fight happened because of a board game. Looking for potential rp partner to write hazbin stuff with. My main ship is radioapple and you must be 18+ and be open to being spicy. Thinking about Lucifer using his shapeshifing ability to help overcome the barrier that is Alastor’s touch aversion between them.

Because- it’s different with an animal. It’s not the same to have a snake winding around your arm as it is to have fingers circling your wrist, not the same to have a bird perch on your shoulder as it is to have a hand clasp you back.

It’s different. Somehow, with these touches, Alastor doesn’t shrink in on himself. He doesn’t remember things he’d rather forget. He doesn’t feel any prickling in his skin, doesn’t feel a pit in his gut.

So Lucifer makes it work. When he needs cuddles- he turns himself into a cat, stretching and purring as Alastor pets him, as he carries him in his arms.

When he needs to be clingy, when he needs constant companionship- then he becomes a snake, wrapped possessively around Alastor’s arm, loosely around his neck-

He becomes a bird. A fox. A lizard. Whatever the day and the mood requires.

It works, for them. Because nothing about their relationship is conventional anyways.

They see each other across the chasm and find a way to build the bridge
