If you’re traveling from Mumbai, then first reach Kasara via a local train. Upon reaching Kasara, book a cab to Khodala, a 30 Km drive away. Once you reach Khodala, you can get a shared taxi directly to Nirgudpada. If you’re traveling in a group of 5-6 people, consider booking a cab/taxi for the roundtrip. This will cost you anywhere around INR 2000 for the entire trip. 
Best Time For the Harihar Fort Trek 
The best time for the Harihar Fort Trek is from June to February. During this time, you can enjoy some breathtaking views from the fort. Monsoon is the best time to explore the lush green fields of Sahyadris. While the post-monsoon season brings clear, exotic views of famous forts and peaks from atop.
