Pestclear - The Best Way to Keep Mice, Rats, & Crawling Insects out of Your Home.
Do you have a problem with Mice, Rats, or Crawling insects in your home? Pestclear do a fantastic range of Mice repellents, Rat repellent, Mouse Traps, Rat traps, and Rat cages that are second to none. This range is a must have for all homes and offices, and the best time to use them is when you do not have these unwelcome visitors. Pestclear is a simple plug in device, that emits an ultrasonic sound that humans can't hear, but rodents and insects can and it will cause stress, and confuse them so they effectively "pack their bags" and move out. Having used this product for a number of years, I can personally recommend the Pestclear range, quite simply, they work. The new slimline Pestclear pest repeller comes in three main sizes, Pestclear 100, which covers one room up to 1000 Sq.Ft, Pestclear slimline 2500, will cover your whole house up to 2500 SqFt, and the Pestclear 3000, would be best used for larger houses. Pestclear uses electronics to create an environment inside your home that drives many pests out of their common nesting areas, and therefore right out of your home. The electromagnetic signal works all around the house, but the ultrasound is restricted to the open area in which the unit is located. Mice Rats, and many other crawling insects, ants, mosquitoes, and even some types of spider just vacate your home once the Pestclear is plugged in and working. Pestclear is extremely safe to use and it will not affect your Dog, Cat, Pet Birds, Fish, or your family. Pestclear work hard to exceed all safety standards, and full safety documentation is available for inspection. How much do they cost. Well it costs less than 2 cents a month for the Pestclear 1000 and 4 cents a month for the Pestclear 3000. Is it worth that to keep mice, and rats out of your home? Pestclear have a range of standard traps and cages: Live Catch Mouse trap, standard wooden mouse trap in a five pack, pre-baited mouse traps, in addition to Large Rat traps, and even rat cages where you can capture the pest alive At Hardware Ireland, we carry a comprehensive range of the Pestclear products, and we give a no quibble guarantee on the full range.. Just get the right size for your home, plug it in and let it work its magic. Then kiss your rodent control problem goodbye. Pre-lit Christmas Tree.
Lighted Christmas Tree A Lighted Christmas Tree For Christmas this year? Have you ever wondered how the tradition of cutting down a fir or pine tree, and attaching lights and ornaments to it came about? Well, according to various online sources, fir trees were not brought inside at Christmas time until the 16th century in Ireland, Germany and England, and not until much later did this practice go to America. Many other traditional Christmas customs, including images of Santa Claus, Christmas songs, Christmas ornaments, and putting lights on the Christmas tree originated in Europe, well before they went over to America. The legend of the latter is that Martin Luther originated the tradition of decorating trees in celebration of Christmas, by bringing a small fir tree indoors and decorating it with lighted candles in honor of Christ's birth. This practice slowly spread across Europe and eventually came to the United States as immigrants brought their Christmas traditions with them. Today, most households and offices have a lighted Christmas tree, and it certainly wouldn't be Christmas without it! You can go out and pick your tree, cut it down yourself or buy one that's already pre-cut. Bring it home and put your lights and decorations on and there you have it, or you can choose a pre-lit artificial tree from any number of local and online retailers. Expert Hardware in Crumlin Village, Dublin, and www.hardwareireland.ie (http://www.hardwareireland.ie/search/?q=ben+nevis) have a nice selection of pre-lit Christmas trees in all sizes and styles that require minimal set up. The advantage to purchasing a pre-lit Christmas tree is that you don't have to mess with untangling the light strands every season, just to get yourself tangled back up with them while getting dizzy going around tree placing them just right on the tree! That's what makes it fun though, wouldn't you agree? Put on some Christmas music, and enjoy some tasty bevs with family members as you decorate the tree. (Does it really work like that, or does come with some stronger words and exasperations?) :-) Let's not forget the natural trees in your garden that can aso make beautiful, stunning lighted Christmas tree displays during the festive season. Use solid colored lights or multi-colored strands that are available in various sizes to illuminate the trees in glowing color. Of course, make sure that the lights are safe to use outdoors, and use water-proof connector boxes and wires. Enjoy a safe Christmas season with family and friends while celebrating old traditions and discovering some new favorites. This is a time of year to rekindle relationships and spend time with our loved ones, sit around the Christmas tree, open the pressies, and of course, indulge in decadent holiday treats and feasts that everyone looks forward to! Merry Christmas go for the Pre-lit Christmas tree and have a ball. Check out www.hardwareireland.ie or call in and see us at Expert Hardware in Crumlin Village, Dublin 12.

Christmas Lights and Christmas Trees. Let's Decorate and Celebrate.
Christmas lights; we have all seen them and most of us have used them at some stage. When it comes to Christmas lights, we most often associate those lights with Christmas trees. While Christmas lights are most commonly used to decorate Christmas trees, did you know that they can also be used for much more? If you are planning on decorating your home for Christmas this year, you should check out the new range of LED Christmas lights, laser Christmas lights and the new Christmas projector lights. With a little imagination you will see that they can be used for a lot more than you may have originally thought. Most of us love Christmas time, and the magic that is created at this time of year. The magic of Christmas is brought about mainly by Christmas lights, Christmas decorations, and Christmas trees. The great thing about Christmas lights is the variety that is now available, and they are getting better every year. Gone are the days when one took down the Christmas lights and spent hours of frustrating time trying to get them to work and eventually realising that some of the bulbs were broken. Then was the trek to the local hardware store, to see if they might have a few spare bulbs, ending up more than likely, having to buy a new set anyhow. Those were the day’s all-right. Traditional Christmas lights with replaceable bulbs are becoming a thing of the past, with the coming of LED Christmas lights. The new range of LED Christmas lights come in many different colours and styles, bright white, cool white, multi-colour, red, and blue, being the most sought after. These new Christmas lights are brighter, longer, and more reliable and functional than the old fashioned bulb replacement Christmas lights. Solar powered Christmas lights are also becoming more and more popular. These are best used where your area to be decorated is facing due south, as the sun at this time of the year is very limited in Ireland. Solar powered lights can also be used with a standard battery when there is limited sun over the festive season, a standard AA battery used on a string set of solar lights will last up to 72 hours. You can then revert back to the solar battery for the summer time. The main advantage here (apart from the energy saving) is that one does not need to bring power outside and they are extremely safe and flexible to use, and are extremely cheap to buy, if you shop at the right hardware store. The combinations are varied with up to eight or nine options of display styles and settings. Rope lights can also be very effective when used with imagination. Rope lights are particularly effective for along the roofline and on the apex of houses. They can also look brilliant when wound around the base of some trees. Again Christmas rope lights should be available in most good hardware stores. Most new Christmas lights are a lot safer as they use low voltage and most have a voltage regulator. However, as with all electrical products caution and safety must be paramount in our mind at Christmas time. Never take anything for granted when fitting any form of electrical appliance or fitting. Although many individuals choose to use Christmas lights for their Christmas trees, as stated above, there are lots of other uses for them inside and outside your home. Icicle lights can be particularly attractive for the gutters and apex areas, string LED lights are also excellent for outside use, and for decorating any outside trees or porches, but the latest new Christmas laser projector lights have to be seen to be believed. The laser projector lights made their first appearance in Ireland in 2015 and soon sold out in many of the Hardware stores that were brave enough to stock this innovative new product. You need to see these new laser lights to believe them, brilliant is a word that comes to mind. Expert Hardware in Crumlin and www.hardwareireland.ie have a great range. Christmas lights can be used almost anywhere nowadays. Some people go overboard, some people do nothing, and some people use their displays to raise money for charities and other great causes, but no matter what we should all make some effort both inside and outside the house to get the Christmas lights up and lighting. The days of using paper chains and decorations hanging from the ceilings are long gone, but checkout the indoor laser lights that are now available, and all by simply plugging in a device and instantly moving decorations will appear. It’s magic so let’s not lose the spirit of Christmas by acting like Mister Scrooge! As nice as it is to decorate your home for Christmas, you may also want to decorate your office or your workplace. Unfortunately, not everyone celebrates Christmas. This may pose a problem for some now that we have multi cultures in Ireland. However, you can still, in many cases, use Christmas lights to decorate your office. In most cases, you will find that it is the decorations that scream Christmas that cause the problems, not the lights themselves. Therefore, if the boss approves you could easily hang Christmas lights around your office, factory or garage. Not only will this create a nice Christmas atmosphere but might even improve employee output and performance. On the subject of workplaces, we seem to be getting a really mean “bah humbug” attitude from a number of business leaders and managers, when it comes to decorating workplaces such as shops and factories. Surely employers and business leaders should have some responsibility to decorate their premises with Christmas lights and Christmas trees, and give something back to the community that gives them business all year round! Maybe we should consider not doing our business with these mean companies that won’t even put up a few Christmas lights at this time of year? So come on Scrooge... have a blast!! Why don’t we all make our own little effort to bring back the spirit of Christmas and start using Christmas lights and Christmas trees to brighten up our own local neighbourhood. For more information on our products or services, please email [email protected] or call 00353 (0)1 456 0215.

Alternative ways to insulate your house.
Two Alternative Ways to Insulate Your Home that Work, from Hardware Ireland. Home » Latest Blogs/DIY Tips » Two Alternative Ways to Insulate Your Home that Work, from Hardware Ireland. Wednesday, November 23rd, 2016 Two Alternative Ways to Insulate Your Home that Work, from Hardware Ireland. If you live in an old house that was built more than ten years ago, the chances are that your walls were never insulated properly. Your house, especially any rooms that may be facing north, will be cold, damp, and possibly have mildew. No problem, as this can all be easily sorted out and brought up to modern standards. With the advent of modern insulation materials, now, just like newer houses, your house can retain heat, have less dampness, and warm up a lot faster without the need for expensive tradesmen. Without doubt the best way to insulate the walls in your home is to use insulation boards. Insulation boards come in a variety of makes and sizes, and in general need to be fitted by an expert. To use these boards can be cumbersome as it may be necessary to move radiators, electrical fittings, and of course to re-plaster, which is usually beyond the skills of a DIY enthusiast. However, there are two great products now on the market that will go a long way in sorting out this problem. Let's look at these options: Wallrock Thermal Liner Wallrock Thermal liner is a great product for lining cold walls. It is easily applied by any capable DIY enthusiast and can be applied to the problem wall without too much inconvenience. The roll size is 75CM x 10M, and retails at around €75 euros at this time. Wallrock Thermal liner will save up to 36% on energy bills and will reduce the warm up time of your room by approximately 65%. It is compatible with period features in older houses, helps to reduce noise pollution, and resists mould and damp formation. Wallrock is quick and easy to use and is a great way to cover problems such as cracked plaster and textured and rough surfaces. Simply paste the wall, not the liner and apply. This great product also allows the walls to breathe, and contains no PVC. Each roll will require 5KG of Wallrock Thermal Adhesive per roll, which is sold separately. Wallrock Thermal Adhesive is a ready to use, high strength adhesive with filler, is moisture resistant and breathable, and is easy to use as it rolls straight from the tub. Each tub is sufficient for a minimum of 2 rolls. Note; It is recommended to use a lining paper for a better finish. How does it work? Thermal Liner works in a different way to traditional insulating products. For a start we realise that rooms are rarely heated constantly 24 / 7. So Thermal Liner works by reducing warm up times dramatically as it begins to work immediately the heating is turned on. Conventional products only work after the inside wall has been heated which can take hours - the very time you are likely to be in the room. Once the room has warmed up Wallrock Thermal continues to resist energy loss. How much energy will Thermal Liner save me? This very much depends on the type of walls you have and just how cold the external temperature is. Why do you recommend lining over the top of the Thermal Liner? It makes it much easier to achieve a nice neat finish with minimal filling and sanding. It helps protect your investment from damage, creating a good base for paint or decorative wallpaper at the same time. We recommend the use of Wallrock Fibreliner as the perfect paper for overhanging. However if you want to paint directly onto the Wallrock Thermal Liner you can. Wallrock Thermal Liner is a great solution to cold, damaged, and damp walls. Thermilate Paint Insulating Additive Thermilite Paint Insulating Additive is exactly what it implies – an insulating additive that you add to the paint before painting your room. It is used on the interior to keep heat in during the winter months, and can be used on the exterior to reflect heat away in the summer. Thermalite also helps to reduce energy bills, reduces C02 emissions, and will dramatically reduce condensation problems, which will make your home much more comfortable to live in. Thermalite Paint Insulating Additive is extremely easy to use as you simply mix it into your paint. It can be added to almost any paints/coatings, and can be used almost anywhere you apply paint. It is safe to use, is non-toxic and environmentally friendly. It is suitable for residential and commercial use. I personally used this product in my box room which had huge problems with dampness and moisture running down the walls. This sorted out the problem and it is still working now five years later. A brilliant product. Don’t forget use on the inside to keep the heat in and on the outside to keep heat out Get in Touch For more information on any of our products or services, please visit www.hardwareireland.ie, email [email protected] or call 00353 (0)1 456 0215. Getting ready for Winter.
Getting ready for winter with Hardware Ireland Home » Latest Blogs/DIY Tips » Getting ready for winter with Hardware Ireland Friday 18 November 2016 Energy costs at this time of year are always a major concern. The cost of home heating oil, and solid fuel has increased dramatically over the past few years. We hear on the news that Bord Gais, and ESB prices will be rising, add this to the fact that our winters are set to get colder, and we can see why energy costs are now a huge concern. All is not lost and there are ways we can reduce our energy bills without costing too much money if we consider and act on a few of the points below: 1. Check out the insulation on your walls, and consider using Wallrock thermal liner, or other such insulating material to walls that are either North facing, or just plain cold. 2. Check your windows for drafts and worn out catches and replace if necessary. Pull across heavy curtains at night time and be careful not cover radiators with curtains. 3. Close all room doors to separate heated from unheated areas of your home, and fit thermostatic valves to all heaters where full heat may not be required. E.G. bedrooms, utility room etc. 4. Turn the lights off when leaving a room, and consider fitting timers to control lights and electric heaters. 5. Ensure your loft and hot water tank are insulated. 6. Always wash full loads in your washing machine and dishwasher. 7. Switch appliances off rather than leaving them on standby. 8. Fit compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs), and LED lights. These use a fraction of the cost of an ordinary light bulb and will last up to 10 times longer. 9. Consider changing your boiler and consider installing a solid fuel burner or high efficiency gas boiler. 10. Be conscious of and insist on buying “A” rated electric equipment when you have to replace any household appliance. At www.hardwareireland.ie we stock a great range of fuel bunkers and storage units. Now is the time to order in your new bunker and fuel to be ready for the winter months ahead. We also stock a full range of kiln dried logs, which can be delivered in bulk straight to your door, anywhere in Ireland and briquettes, and coal which can be delivered anywhere in Dublin, at very reasonable prices. Also in stock is a terrific range of heaters from electric to paraffin so check out our site now and don’t be caught out at the last minute. Remember last winter, we all know that our winters in Ireland are getting colder with the possibility of snow almost guaranteed between November and March. Check out your own snow clearance tools and shovels, and if you have a shortfall get them now. Don’t wait until they are “shopped out” by panic buying.
