Hey, welcome to my blog dedicated to The Illuminae files! This series is totally amazing. Please share your ideas/feelings with me I'd love to hear them. Not a spoiler free blog.
[Video ID: An excerpt from the audiobook of Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufmann. It is the scene in which AIDAN kills General Torrence. Overlaid over the audiobook is Mozart's Requiem in D Minor, which begins playing at the moment it is mentioned in the text. Throughout the whole video, the screen shows a background of stars and white text reading "error". / End ID]
@princess-of-purple-prose: this is your fault and I thank you for it :)
@ everyone else who sees this: please read Illuminae I am begging you
I have not read it yet! It’s on my shelf though haha. I’ve been so busy with life, but I’m hoping over the holidays I’ll have some free time to read it. When I do I’ll be sure to post a little review. It’s only 80-100 pages I believe so shouldn’t take long to get through!
I have never seen AIDAN drawn like this and I LOVE IT. So cool!
That feeling when you read a novella for a series you read years ago, fall in love with it again, and then remember you have some very old art of one of the characters that technically isn’t even tangible.
Yeah, here’s chibi android AIDAN because it’s hard to make art for a character who doesn’t have a face (plus an unshaded version for easy reference). Cute as it is here, when it appears in the Alexander ship (in classic AI hologram form) it’s taller than most buildings- a big intellect needs a big presence to match. I borrowed a few details from the Alexander to add its appearance, such as the missile silo boots, circle/hole/spot motif, and the impressive silhouette-enhancing horns (the perspective’s messed up here, they go backwards, not up). Add a constant pleasant expression and glowy spots and you have AIDAN. Hope everyone likes it!
Bonus fun fact: AIDAN’s design changes depending on the system its inhabiting- I have art I may post later for it. This is just its standard Alexander state.
I use photoshop a lot, but if you’re looking for something easy, free, and quick that’s still pretty good I recommend Pixlr. Its just a regular photo editing app but it has a lot of filters and other editing options like overlays and text that are useful. Hope that helps!!
