Hey everyone! I got another update this one’s a bit longer and more personal. It’s a bit heavy too just so you know.

I’m starting to feel a bit better. I’m getting really close to 100 followers now so I’d really like to thank you all SO much. Sometimes I literally can’t believe the support I’ve been getting lately, it feels like one long dream.

Lately I’ve had a real rough go at it, my self confidence has been not great. A lot of the time I suffer from feeling like I’m not good enough to have made all the wonderful friends and followers I have made here. Many of them are creators who inspired me long before I started posting here and it feels almost surreal. I know that’s totally crazy but rationalization has been something I’ve had difficulty with lately

The stress was definitely effecting my art negatively. I found myself getting super frustrated and unable to draw for more than a couple minutes at a time. After making such huge breakthroughs in march I felt like my skill was degrading again, and I lost a bit of my confidence to even try for a bit.

Most days have been going to work, barely struggling through my anxiety and then going home. I would either immediately go to sleep or heavily distract myself to try and take my mind off things.

A lot of things have been contributing to my stress, my feelings of inadequacy in where I’m at in my transition, the fact I’m trying to find a house to rent, a few events going on with my family (and the general uneasiness that is my transition with my parents), and trying to make enough money to make the move go well.

A few days ago it got so bad at work that my stress bubble just popped and I came close to breaking down. Strangely that event has seemed to wrap me back around to a more neutral state of mind, I’ve been calling it an “stress overflow”.

Currently like I mentioned I’m doing a little bit better, I’ve been dog sitting for my family for the past few days which was also helpful.

It’s been really hard lately, and I don’t like to bother people with stuff like this so I’ve been trying to contain it all myself, which has not been working super great.

I wanted to put this out there to give more context to what’s been going on with me lately as my last post wasn’t too descriptive. I genuinely care about everyone here so much, I don’t think I’d be able to function without you. I want to try and be more open about what’s going on in my life especially here. I think it would help me a lot.

I know this is. Kind of a ramble almost but thank you for listening. I can’t thank this community enough for accepting me and making me feel like I genuinely matter.

Quick small update. I want to apologize for my inactivity lately. Been really stressed out lately, trying to find a new house to move in to, along with the typical stress I’ve been dealing with daily. I promise I’ll have some more stuff out soon! Appreciate all of you!

It’s been a bit of a hectic week so I haven’t had much time to work on my new comic. However I did just start working on the 3rd panel! Here’s a peak at the first panel, I’m going to be introducing a new character! I’m challenging myself to try and create more defined characters with this comic that aren’t Katie.

I haven’t come up with a name for her yet but I’m happy with this first iteration!

A lot of brewskis have noticed my slow down these last few months and this is the major reason for it. Yes, a person at my work has been following me at the beginnings of my shifts and has not gotten any repercussion. I don't feel safe anymore. My partner and I are moving, but even still we don't feel comfortable with me working at that place, however it's difficult as I don't have a college degree and this place pays more than most jobs around here.

We have some plans in place, but I'm financially struggling. I hate to do this, but I created a ko-fi to help with relocation and to help stifle some of the burden of quitting this job. All the money would go towards things like rent, groceries, and car payments. I do have a Patreon, but it isn't bringing in enough to help with this issue and I'm debating about deleting it due to me not being able to keep up with things over there.

Anything helps, but don't donate if you can't---reading this and sharing it will be a massive help still <3

I’m so sorry you’re going through this Kayla. Nobody should ever have to experience something like this. I hope your relocation goes well, and you’re able to get out of that situation as quickly as possible.

Did a few little experiments here! I tried a more front facing facial structure but after seeing how this came out I’ll probably stick to the previous design! However I’ve really been wanting to do this mad scientist outfit for a while and this was great hand practice!!

Another quick drawing tonight!! We also see the return of red dress Katie in this one!!! I added a fun little accent to her hair as well this time around.

In this one I really really tried to work on hands and i think they came out pretty good! Once again the posing method came in clutch but I'm definitely still learning how to use it!!!

It was a very long day at work today and all I could think about was wanting to get home and practice some more.

Here's a quick drawing I did tonight experimenting with posing!! @bubbleverseart gave me some really great tips for how to set up limbs and I really think it's helped me alot!! I really need to get better at hands but I wanted to show this tonight before I go to sleep!

I've also upped the thickness of the lines and I feel like that gives Katie a more uniform consistent look! And yes I have redone her hair again but I think I'm gonna stick with this style!!! I hope!!!

I didn’t have as much time as I would have liked for this but I swear next year I have you on my calendar!!!

I’ve only known you for about 4 or so months now but in that time you’ve truly had a deep impact on me. You’re the one who pushed me to get back in to art, and the reason I’ve been able to improve at all over these past few months!

From the bottom of my heart genuinely thank you for being there and supporting me right from the start. You always listen to me whenever I’m having a rough day and I couldn’t ask for a better friend.

Thank you so much!!!! I had such a blast doing this piece and learned so much!! I'd much rather have you teach me your ways, your style is just so unique and energetic!

Okay without further ado here’s that project I was working on! I set a challenge for myself to try and imitate other artists styles but with Katie! I respect each of these artists a very great deal, and they’ve been huge inspirations from my work from the very beginning. I’m so happy I get to share this with all of you this morning!

This was the most fun I’ve ever had drawing something and I genuinely believe it’s my best work. I learned SOOO much trying this out and really think my art has been leveled up by trying it out. I was rethinking the entirety of my personal style when experimenting with other artists styles!!!
