Been struggling between my own style and the movie’s style for a little while now, as you probably noticed. Bear with me just a little longer, I’m gonna figure myself out and pick one :D
So uhh I’ve been seeing small clips of this promo floating around and whenever I ask for link no one gives and I cry. So I’ve been digging high and low and I’ve finally found it! So!! I thought I’d share it with you all!! Enjoy!
This is mostly for all my fellow lovelies in the Dreamworks Trolls Fandom.
It has been brought to my attention (by a really rad, kind, fellow Trolls Fan Artist) that we as a fandom, including myself, need to be more diligent with properly tagging content that may be “suggestive”.
I do have a piece or two (out of the many Trolls art I’ve done) that are no where near traditional nsfw, BUT, some can make a very fair argument that they are…”spicy”. I won’t deny that. Lolz. So calling them “suggestive” isn’t false.
Dreamworks Trolls is technically a franchise that is primarily aimed at a young audience and we all need to be more sensitive to this. Especially since it was also brought to my attention that many 13-16yr olds here on Tumblr are following posts about Trolls, and are part of the fandom as well.
I’m owning up to the fact that I was careless and this hasn’t crossed my mind. I think it has something to do with the fact that this is the first time (that I can recall) I’ve drawn art based for a fandom that wasn’t aimed for a more mature audience. That’s no excuse though, so I’m going to do better here on out. I ask others to consider to follow suit.
Also, there are people out there who really don’t feel comfortable with posts/artwork that depicts Trolls characters in a suggestive and or nsfw ways. I can understand that 100%. You do you, you know? I think we can all agree that nobody wants to make anyone uncomfortable if they can avoid doing so. Tagging things appropriately can help many people in the long run.
I will say this, I am in NO WAY shaming or ‘poo-pooing” those who enjoy Trolls a bit more “spicy”. I myself have no shame in saying I am down for good quality explicit Trolls content. I love it! Lolz. However, us as creators/posters need to take responsibility by tagging them appropriately, censoring them, and/or depending on the content…perhaps post a link to where the work can be viewed on a more secure site where there are steps taken to assure it cannot easily be accessed by minors or those who feel triggered by said subject matter.
I have yet to draw any nsfw Trolls art. Will I ever? Maybe. Who knows?! If I ever do though, I will be responsible and post it on a different, secure site all together and will only post links for it on Tumblr. In the meantime, the most extreme I will post on Tumblr is what I currently have up.
That being said, as a courtesy to all my fellow Trolls fans, here are the tags I will be using from here on out for art that in the slightest way, may be considered “suggestive”:
#Suggestive
#Soft NSFW
#Lemon
#Bloo Citrus
(That last # I thought was a cute play on words and I also plan on using it for any work on my blog that fits a suggestive/nsfw profile. lolz.)
Also, I do have a habit of swearing or making more adult jokes in my art. To be safe for those who aren’t a fan of these things I will use these tags for those applicable:
#Swearing
#Bloo Cussing
#PG-13 Content
#MA-Content
I apologize for such a long post, but I felt it is relevant and necessary to address. As always everybody, thank you for your love and support for my artwork and never stop shining your True Colors!
