based on the accolade by edmund blair leighton
i was originally gonna draw this for the goofs after seeing the training stuff these two filmed but then scrapped it….and then Everything happened and while i didn't personally watch esc i wasn't expecting that an artist could possibly be done more dirty than what happened last year but clearly this sham of a contest always finds a way. anyways i decided to finish this
I made this last year when reading Dracula Daily, but I was too much of a coward to post it. Now I am no longer held back by earthly matters such as "reputation".
This is the original text from the book, but wildly misinterpreted. enjoy
Dracula making sure Jonathan sees him making the bed and preparing the dinner is so sadistic.
At the beginning Dracula makes a lot of effort to pretend that there are servants everywhere, even miming as a carriage driver.
And then he starts to shift Jonathans sleeping rhythm, so he is awake all night (like Dracula himself).
Then says: „you can go everywhere, expect for the locked doors“
And suddenly Jonathan noticed that ALL doors are locked and he is fact a prisoner. Driving him nearly mad.
And to increase the torture even more, Dracula now makes sure that Jonathan sees him doing the servant work making sure Jonathan realizes he is not only trapped, he is also completely alone.
Mina, writing to Lucy: I cannot wait to hear how Jonathan is doing on his travels! He must be having such a lovely time <3
Jonathan, in his diary: OH GOD OH FUCK HE CAN CLIMB WALLS LIKE A LIZARD NOW. I HAVE ONLY A CRUCIFIX FOR PROTECTION AND I AM GOING TO DIE TO A LIZARD MAN. THERE IS NO WAY OF ESCAPE SO I MAY AS WELL WRITE MY GOODBYES. FAREWELL MINA!!!
