Hey guys, sorry but I am going to be low on activity for a bit. I volunteered at my local hospital yesterday, and I am going back today to help out. They might need me tomorrow and Thursday. So replies are on hold for now, and I will get to starters either tonight or throughout the week. Sorry! But this going to make me really look good when I start applying at Hospitals! They love people with on hand experince and more hours. So thank you for being patient ( eh, eh pun ) with me. Edit: I am going in today and tomorrow after all! Which is great! I I will have starters up soon I promise!

while some CAN get away with lying to eveona, she was rather keen on stuff of the sort. but she could just tell he was lying. why would they have her step down from the mission when she was progressing and doing so good as of late? it made no sense.

yeeowch. she would turn and begin to walk to the destination they were given.

❝ you don’t know that for sure. don’t be so cocky. ❞

❝I don’t know I personally thought I did a good job. But I guess I can work on my lying more.❞

Truth be told, Guren wasn’t really trying to hide his white lie. Once his newly appointed comrade started to make her was the raven-haired male followed suit.

❝What don’t be so cocky? But that’s one of my best features.❞

He was evidently just messing around with her.

False Shepherd

The demon’s golden eyes were fixated on the man’s face. Not even an ounce of annoyance seemed to come into sight even after he had called her a monster. She continued to stare deep into his eyes. It almost seemed as if she were looking right into his very being, trying to decipher his emotions.

She then lowered her gaze and thereupon, her face adopted a compassionate expression. Her body took on a posture that would normally give her followers a sense of kindness and warmth and she joined both of her hands as if she were about to pray for his soul.

“Oh, dear boy, what have they done to you to make you believe or even think that you are a monster?”

She calmly approached the dark-haired stranger and said with a rather concerned tone in her voice,

“I can sense it… Your anger.”

All of her blabberings were simple conjectures she had arrived to after he had spat out those words to her. However, she stood by them. She took another step towards him.

“You are right about one thing… Your soul can be saved. I can help you with that…”

Uncomfortable. The way her eyes fixated on him caused goosebumps to crawl across his skin. Out of fear? Of course not! Guren wasn’t the type to permit a demon to cause his emotions to waiver. No. He was built for far much worse, and she wasn’t one of them. In fact, he found her to quit peculiar. She wasn't aggressive, in fact, it seems as if she was sympathizing him. Her body language showed no traces of ill intentions towards him.

How vulgar.

Mauve hues locked solidly on the demon as his hand stayed firmed at his hilt.

❝No one has done anything to me, I am the one who turned myself into a monster.❞

As she started to approach him, Guren’s eyes narrowed, and his body ached to get into a fighting stance. But he stood still. Even though she showed no signs of hostility, the raven-haired male wouldn’t allow his guard to falter.

❝Of course, you can sense my anger. It’s not like I’m hiding it from you. In fact, I am pretty sure I am showing significant signs of irritation. In fact, I think my anger is rising over the fact that a demon says they can save my soul. Hah, don’t make me laugh. And how exactly are you going to rescue me? By eating me? Besides, I don’t want to be saved. At least... ❞

He paused for a brief moment.

❝not yet.❞

“my apologies, guren-san. i was helping a lost child find his parents so i had to take a detour.” his words were rude, blunt and she knew it was supposed to take a rise out of her. but if she was able to ignore the hand demon’s words, about how it killed her fellow students that wore their dearest teacher’s mask, how it relished in that, she could ignore the jab. she just hoped that one day, someone would be able to end that demon and set free the other foxes. because there was no way she, someone who valued speed over actual strength would be able to at the time. “oh, i’m urokodaki makomo. do we have any information on the demon here?”

❝So not only are you a demon slayer, but you give to charity as well? How considerate of you.❞

You do realize that kindness will kill you one day. Right?

Though he wouldn’t say it or neither show it, Guren thought that was very admirable of her. She liked to help others, which meant she most likely was good with teamwork. An attribute he found comfort in. Once her name was spoken, a curious brow rose. Urokodaki. As in THE Sakonji Urodokai? Well, this means she was very capable of being a demon slayer.

❝I didn’t know Urokodaki had a daughter. And this young... ❞ Guren then stopped himself from continuing on. A slight shiver ran down his spine at the thought of that old man getting it on at his age. Disgusting.

Raising his right hand, he balled it into a loose and placed it by his lips, letting out a few coughs clearing his throat.

❝Anyways... about that demon. It seems that its main targets are children. But so far, there are no patterns. Height, age, gender, and class. They all have been random. So I think it’s best we go around town and investigate this more. ❞

The reason why Guren acts harshly towards people at first is that he doesn’t want them to grow close to him and him vice versa. He has lost many dear loved ones throughout his life, he has a crippling fear of people dying and leaving him behind. So he feels that it is best to build a wall around his heart. But that does NOT mean he will try to fight people.
