summary: choi beomgyu. the brown haired boy was someone that everyone had come into contact with at least once. everyone, except for you. he had been in a few of your classes throughout the past few semesters, but you never got to get to know him as the many people around you have. and this semester, it was the same story.

a/n: happy late beomgyu day!

walking into your psychology class ten minutes early, you had hoped that the seat you always sat in wouldn't be taken yet. although seats weren't assigned, the seat you had chosen to sit in since the first day of the semester was what you thought was the best seat in the class. not only was the seat all the way to the side, meaning you only had to sit next to one other person (usually your best friend, chaewon, if she wasn't skipping class) instead of two people, but it was in the second row of the lecture hall so barely anyone sat in front of you. and, to your luck, the seat was empty.

making your way over to your seat, the quiet room is suddenly filled with lots of chatter as a group of people walk in. you look to see choi beomgyu, surrounded by a large group of people (mainly girls) walking in the same direction as you, towards your seat. and, as you're about to place your things into your seat, one of the many girls following beomgyu sits in the seat while he sits in the seat right in front. you sigh, the girl glaring at you as if you had done something wrong, and attempt to sit in the seat next to her but she places her things into the seat as if to say the seat is already taken.

"i think she was about to sit there." you hear a deep voice say, and both you and the girl turn to beomgyu who's pointing at your seat. "you just stole her seat."

you had shared a few psychology classes with beomgyu in the past, but never talked to him as the seats surrounding him had always been filled quickly and he was always busy with the conversations he was thrown into. not to mention, the frat he was in were known for throwing parties on thursdays so he would only come to class on tuesdays.

"oh my god! i'm so sorry." the girl fakes, getting and sitting a few seats down from you.

"thanks." you say to beomgyu, surprised that he noticed you trying to sit in your seat.

"y/n, right?" he asks as the professor walks into the classroom greeting everyone.

"yeah. beomgyu, right?" you ask, even though you already knew his name.

he just nods, "i've never seen you at any of our parties before, y/n. i could've sworn i saw soobin invite you a couple of time before."

"i'm just not one for thursday parties, you do know we have class on thursdays." you watch as beomgyu pulls out his phone, opening instagram.

"do you have insta?" he asks, handing you his phone before you can answer. you type in your username, clicking the follow request button. "how do you know soobin, though?"

"oh, we were in an honor society together in high school." you say, but before you can say anything else the professor begins the lecture.

throughout the lecture, the professor pauses a few times to take water breaks and beomgyu tries to continue your conversation from earlier only to get cut off by someone asking him about something that happened at the party last week. and, for some reason, you find the lecture going by slower than usual. but, finally, the class ends and you find that beomgyu's taking a lot longer than usual to leave the room.

"gyu! you coming to get food with us?" you hear someone call from across the room as you grab your things.

"yeah, i'll meet you there." he says before turning to you. "i know you don't like thursday parties but you should really come to at least one of our parties. i'll be there, and soobin too, i think you'd have fun."

"thanks, i'll think about it." you watch as beomgyu catches up to his friends before texting chaewon about the class she just missed.

"the beomgyu invited you to a party? personally?" chaewon asks again, for the third time, not believing you still. "like he said 'you should come to our party'?"

"yeah, he invited me right after class had ended." you say, fiddling with the straw of your coffee. you really hoped no one around you was eavesdropping or else you would be the only thing people would talk about for the next week on campus.

"and of course it had to be during the one class i missed." chaewon sighs and you give her a look saying you miss class all the time.

"anyways, you would go with me right? this thursday?" you already know she'll say yes, but you needed to make sure she wouldn't forget.

"you're going to a party this thursday? who are you?" chaewon laughs, finding herself amusing. "you've never gone to a party on days where we had class the next day."

"i know, but i do feel bad for always declining soobin's invitations. and beomgyu invited me this time, too. i can't say no to the both of them." you really could say no, but you were curious as to why beomgyu had invited you when he had talked to you for the first time just a few hours ago.

"oooooh, it sounds like someone has a crushhhh." chaewon taunts, and you roll your eyes.

you? having a crush on choi beomgyu? no. you were just curious. curious about why everyone except you seemed to know him. curious about why he wasn't dating anyone knowing he could get anyone he wants. curious about beomgyu, that's all you were.

coming to a thursday party was not a good idea. no matter how curious you were about beomgyu, you wished you just stayed at home instead. the house party was not only filled with many frat boys, all who you thought were very annoying, but also it seemed like beomgyu was impossible to find.

"y/n! you're here?" you hear someone call over the loud music, and althought you wished it was the person you had been looking for, you turn to see soobin with a few of his friends close behind. "are you here with anyone?"

"i was supposed to meet chaewon here, but she got food poisoning so she couldn't make it." you say, peeking behind soobin to see if beomgyu was with him, but it seemed that soobin only brought over his other friends. "have you seen beomgyu?"

"oh god, please don't tell me you have a thing for him." soobin groans, giving his friends a look.

"no, of course not." you laugh, "he invited me today so i was hoping to run into him."

"beomgyu? are we talking about the same beomgyu? like brown hair, really loud, has a pet bird?" soobin says, eyes wide like he had just heard the world was ending.

"yeah, that's the one. have you seen him?" you ask, looking around to see if he would be anywhere within the crowd.

"last time i saw him, he was getting dragged upstairs by some girl." one of soobin's friends say before taking a sip of whatever drink was in his cup.

"sorry, y/n." soobin says, seeing the disappointment in your face. "you can come hang with us."

"actually, i think i should head home. i still have class tomorrow." you say your goodbyes, ignoring the uncomfortable feeling in your chest.

you head out of the house, regretting your outfit choice as soon as the cold air hits your legs. of course you didn't layer up, deciding that looking cute was more important than staying warm on the way back to your apartment.

"y/n?" you hear the deep voice you had been looking for all night, and the feeling in your chest immediately disappears. "you actually came."

"you did invite me." you subconsciously smile, meeting eyes with beomgyu's and you can't help but notice the way they sparkle even in the awful light from the side of the house. "why're you out here anyways?"

"the girl from our psych class was bothering me and the music was getting too loud. i needed quiet." he says, leaning against the house. "why're you out here? it's cold so you should head back inside."

"i was looking for you but i couldn't find you so i was gonna go home." you really wished the lighting was better so you could make out his smile better.

"you live on campus? i can walk you home." beomgyu says, and you can't help but smile at the offer. "you came alone, right?"

"yeah, i was supposed to come with my friend but she couldn't make it." you say as you both walk away from the house and towards the apartments.

"i meant with a guy. you didn't come with a guy, right?" beomgyu asks, and your heart skips at beat at the question.

"no, i told you i only came because you invited me." you cross your arms to try and make yourself warm which beomgyu seems to notice.

"are you cold?" he asks as he shrugs off his jacket and places it around you. "i told you to go back inside."

"thank you." you say and your walking slows as you become engulfed in beomgyu's smell.

"are your hands cold?" beomgyu asks, but before you can respond he takes your hand into his and shoves it into the pocket of his hoodie.

the rest of the walk to your apartment is quiet as you try to process what just happened. you're slightly dizzy from beomgyu's scent and his warm hand covering yours.

"which apartment's yours?" beomgyu's voice snaps you out of your daze and you tell him the building.

"thank you for walking me." you say as you reach your apartment.

"anytime." beomgyu says. "you can keep the jacket, i'll get it back from you next time."

"i'll see you on tuesday, then." you wave to him, entering your apartment building and heading to the elevators.

"i'm just curious about him." you remind yourself.

summary: moving into a new apartment, you thought you remembered to bring everything from your old place but the missing bag of sugar you just bought says otherwise.

a/n: hi hi! it's been quite awhile since i last posted something on tumblr since i left the skz fandom in about 2020. i've been a moa since txt's debut but just recently became really into txt and decided i'd start writing for them! this was inspired by my sister since she said soobin seemed like the type to lend you a cup of sugar if you asked and she's not wrong. should i write a part 2?

"are you sure you don't still have any of my things in your car?" it's currently 2:00 in the morning and you're on facetime with your best friend, yunjin, as you frantically search through the boxes that are lined up in the kitchen of your new apartment.

"y/n, go to bed." she says, groaning for the umpteenth time. "you're the, like, only person i know who would be up this late baking cookies. we can deal with it in the morning."

"no, yunjin, you don't understand. i had a whole bag of sugar for this specific moment." you explain, searching through the same box you had been looking through for the past ten minutes, hoping that somehow it would show up.

whenever you moved into a new place, it was a small tradition you had to stay up on the day you moved into your new place to bake cookies for your new neighbors. you would stay up baking, give your cookies to your neighbors in the morning, and then sleep until the next day. and you clearly remember two days ago when you had stopped by the grocery store to grab a new bag of sugar, food coloring, and sprinkles. and now, the boxes in your kitchen had food coloring and sprinkles but the sugar was no where to be found.

"sugar is one of the main ingredients in cookies! without sugar there's no cookies, and with no cookies how else am i supposed to meet my new neighbors?" you close up the box, sighing, and lean against the counter top, thinking of what grocery stores would be open at the time and hour.

you hear no response from yunjin and check your phone only to see her ceiling and you hear a quiet snoring noise from her end. you hang up the call, assuming she's fast asleep and wonder what to do. you scroll through a list of grocery stores in your area, only to see that the only open store was an hour and a half away. you look at the softening butter sitting in your kitchenaid, wondering if any of your neighbors would mind lending you some sugar.

"what am i thinking?" you mumble to yourself, looking at the clock. but it's either no cookies, or being called the annoying new neighbor. and no cookies seemed to be the worse option. with one last sigh, you walk to the front of your new apartment and slip on your crocs. you decide as you unlock your front door that you would only ask the neighbor to your left, if there was no answer then the cookies would be dealt with in the morning.

you gently close your door, not wanting to disturb your other neighbors and make your way over to the door on your left. you notice that there's an amazon package waiting at the front of their door, meaning that they probably chose the option to have it delivered at this time. that would mean they're awake, right?

you knock on the door, waiting to hear some shuffling or a voice but you hear nothing. "what was i thinking? who would be awake at this hour?" you turn back towards your door, shaking your head in embarrassment.

just as you start to type in the numbers to your apartment's doorlock, you hear the unlocking of the door you had just knocked on. "sorry, did you knock?" you hear a deep voice ask, and turning around you see a head of blonde.

you take in your neighbor's appearance, wondering if he had just woken up or if he was about to head to bed. the man was tall, taller than most guys you knew, and you noticed the deep dimples that peeked out when he gave you the slightest smile. he wore sweatpants and a hoodie, but his hair was disheveled and there were bags under his eyes.

"oh, yeah, sorry. i didn't wake you, did i?" you wince, starting to feel bad that you were about to ask for such a ridiculous favor.

"no, no. i was just about to head to bed." he explains, shaking his head, almost as if he was apologizing for not answering the door sooner, and you feel even worse.

"oh god, i'm so sorry. i just moved in yesterday and i was unpacking, but i realized i forgot to bring my sugar with me so i was gonna ask to borrow some of your sugar but now i feel really stupid." you ramble, avoiding his eyes. "but you know, i can just get some tomorrow. i'll let you head to bed now."

"are you sure? i've never had someone need sugar at this hour so i'm guessing it's important. and i barely cook so i have a bunch of ingredients i never use." you can tell he's trying to hold back a laugh to be polite, but he is right about it being important.

before you can get a word out, he heads back into his apartment and you take a peek into his place. it was really clean, something you wouldn't expect from his first impression, and you notice a cage for some kind of pet, either a guinea pig or a rabbit. you see him head back towards you and you look away quickly, staring at the jibbitz on your crocs.

"here you go." the blonde says, handing you a barely used bag of sugar. "don't worry about bringing it back, as you can tell it's only been used once or twice. think of it as my welcoming gift." he smiles a genuine smile this time, and you all the sudden wish you hadn't been standing there in your old naruto pjs from high school.

"thank you, really." you say, mentally reminding yourself to make him a few extra cookies than you originally planned to. you start to make your way back to your place, but he stops you. "oh, i don't think i ever asked you for your name. i'm soobin."

"y/n. nice to meet you, soobin."

baseball player! skz

note : i know, i know. i’m an idiot an can’t read correctly. the last request said baseball, but for some reason god knows what i read it as basketball. i’m so so sorry for whoever requested it! send requests!

a catcher for sure

during games he’s always reassuring hyunjin (pitcher) that he’ll throw a good ball and they’ll win

he also is always giving hyunjin the credit to make sure hyunjin is confident in his pitches

although he’s not running around and playing he loves his position

he’s always there in the game and he likes that he can see what others can’t on the field

he’s so selfless that he’s the best catcher the school’s ever had

there’s no one that doesn’t like bang chan so he winds up being friends with the opposing teams on accident

but he also uses these connections to set up practice games during the weekends

most of the time no one sees him during games but he likes it that way

sometimes people  bring him down saying that he’s not that important because all the does is squat there

but then the team tells chan that without him there wouldn’t be a team

he and hyunjin weren’t too fond of each other at first but after awhile they become really close

hyunjin can basically read his mind and vise versa

he buys everyone new bats and balls when they join the team

also buys everyone matching socks

seems like a left fielder

he’s better at being on the field than up to bat

he hates batting during games just because he doesn’t like the pressure

during practices he loves batting

complains about having to go to practice but secretly loves it

played for a short while during the end of middle school into high school

never really had a set position because he’s pretty good at everything

doesn’t care what he plays as long as he’s helping the team

when he won his first high school game he was so proud of himself even if he made a ton of mistakes

he knows he’s not good enough to get a sports scholarship or anything but the thought of playing with his friends makes him want to be on the team every year

winds up actually getting a small scholarship

he always is late to practice because he’s out getting private lessons to get better for his team

never really thought so highly of a team before high school

actually starts to like baseball by the time he’s about to leave high school

everyone loves him on and off the field

he used to miss practices all the time because it didn’t seem like that big of a deal to him

but now he rarely ever misses practices

everyone knows this boy is tall someone said he’s taller than jungkook and that blew my mind because i didn’t think he was that tall

and he’s lean so he’s a great pitcher

his accuracy when pitching is a 10/10

he one time injured his arm and couldn’t play for a whole season which everyone was bummed about

but during that time he always went to every game and practice to support his team

when he came back from taking a break it seemed like he got a thousand times better and everyone’s like “do i need to break something to get better too?”

he played baseball seriously since middle school and met seungmin through the baseball team

he refused to join the team unless seungmin was also on the team

decided to let felix join their little group

is the one who usually forgets that there’s practice until he’s at home

so he comes back to school for practice

han jisung

third baseman!!!

it may not seem like it but his arms are actually really strong and he makes really good throws

he makes it seem like he hates batting but it’s the total opposite

he’d rather be up to bat than be out on the field

the one who used to play but never told anyone because he didn’t want to seem like a show off

also started playing a new position so basically started from scratch

he’s the sweetest and always accidentally winds up throwing the ball too hard at someone and it hits them in the face

during practices he pretends like he brought too much food/drinks but he actually bought a lot to give to everyone

he’s nervous for games and makes a lot of mistakes during games

during his first game he made such a rookie mistake because he got so nervous but everyone said it was fine

will play in whatever weather doesn’t give any fucks

one time practice was cancelled because of the rain but he practiced anyways

got yelled at by chan for basically asking to get sick

a pretty well rounded player

he played almost every position during high school

used to fill in for someone if they weren’t able to make it to the games

but now he’s a permanent center fielder

always forgets something whether it’s his bat or glove or smth during practice

always has to borrow the school’s shitty bats/gloves

never forgets anything during game days

the one who can’t focus in class the day of a game

teachers honestly know not to bother because he’s in a trance

always goofing around during practices

but once it’s game day he’s not one to be bothered with

one time he forgot that there was a game so everyone was confused why he was so playful

everyone knows he’s played baseball since he was a kid

it’s obvious by the way he plays

but he’s so chill when playing because if he gets nervous he’ll mess up

other sports schools have asked him to come to their school and play but he refused because he didn’t want to be known for baseball

already got many scholarships

even friends with players on other teams because they used to play as kids or smth

his throws are so good that most people think he’s a pitcher

plays his position so well that people think he’s played as long as seungmin but it’s just natural talent

whenever he gets compliments about the way he plays he gets so happy

helps the team in the best way he can

sometimes he’ll accidentally get a ball that he wasn’t supposed to get

apologizes even when he doesn’t have to

one time someone ran into him and he said sorry

never mess with jeongin because he’s actually really tough

he’ll put stickers on everyone’s bats so everyone knows whos is whos

they already know which bat is theirs but jeongin gets happy seeing the sticker so they kept them on

their bats wind up being covered in stickers

i mean who wouldn’t want him to be captain

some random player asked to be captain and coach was like “bang chan is captain”

he’s pretty good at basketball since he used to play with his friends when they were younger

i think he’s be a point guard because of the control and power he has with the ball

i feel like he wouldn’t know some of the official rules or get them mixed up sometimes because he’s used to his own rules from when he played when he was younger

so during practice he’d make a lot of mistakes and would later be too hard on himself for it

everyone reassures him that he doesn’t need to be perfect because even professionals make mistakes

afterwards he apologizes for the thousandth time and tells the team he’ll try to become a better captain even though he’s already the best

he helps everyone with their schoolwork during their break at practice because he cannot have his teammates failing at geometry

he also always brings extra food with him to school to save for practice to make sure everyone’s eating good and not skipping meals

he has the speed and aggressiveness

everyone thinks he’s a new player because of his attitude before games but once he’s on the court there is no stopping him

he has a natural talent that turned into a hobby

i feel like he’s never played with an official team and he just played with whoever

but when he joins the school’s team he’s so happy to be included into a ‘family’

opposing teams start this rumour that he’s probably some college player who looks young enough to be highschool because no one is that naturally good

he plays so smoothly that he’s the talk of the town

other teams are lowkey scared because he just looks intimidating

off court he’s so bubbly and an actual goof ball

one time he brought his cat to practice so his cat could enjoy the ‘show’

he has a lot of strength that’s very useful

sometimes people make fun of his height because of the fact that most basketball players are tall

but when he starts playing everyone shuts up

because this boy’s height is not an issue

but once they became friends he was so nice and actually baby

by the time he’s in his last year of school his technique is flawless and he’s one of the best players on the team

he was about to quit because he thought he wasn’t good enough but then chan cheered him up and said that without him there wouldn’t be a team

he often asks seungmin to practice with him during the weekends or whenever they have free time

he’s really close with seungmin and jeongin and they’re the trio that everyone loves

honestly he gets mad when girls come to the games just because he’s there so he used to skip a lot of the games

i feel like he’s a small forward

he’s an all-rounder and can basically play every position on the team

he’s played for awhile like woojin but he’s always played in school not ouside of school

during the first game of his highschool career he hurt himself but didn’t tell anyone and kept playing

come to find out he sprained his ankle and couldn’t play for a little bit which upset him

he got yelled at because he didn’t treat his injury immediately

always gets hurt because he’s trying so hard to be good for the team

winds up injuring himself in only the important games

but he’s always supporting the team even if he can’t play

he’s a cheerleader as well as a part-time player

he’s been close with the older players more than the younger players

gets awkward when his teammates want to talk about something other than basketball

lee felix

also a small forward

he changed positions halfway through highschool and it took a bit of encouragement from his teammates to play an all-around type position

once he breaks out of his shell he’s a really good player

like chan he doesn’t know the official rules because he used to only play with friends in their driveways

makes a lot of mistakes but learns a lot from them

one time a player on the opposing team got scared because of his deep voice and thought the coach was yelling at him

he stopped playing for a year just because he got too insecure about his playing but when he came back to play a new position it fit so well with him

he’s the one player on the team that has to buy a new pair of basketball shoes every week

he’s never worn the same pair of shoes ever

if it’s a black out he probably has ten black shoes he’ll have a difficult time choosing from

kim seungmin

most likely a power forward

everyone thinks he’s a giant fluff ball

but when he plays he doesn’t care if you’re on the oppposing team  or not

he will knock you down

he always played basketball when he was younger and then he stopped for a bit but then he started again when he got into highschool

when he joined he was a bit rusty but everyone thought he was really good

so he made the team :)

but he had to quit piano because of it

so woojin gave seungmin private piano lessons about a week after seungmin quit

seungmin would be the type of person that pretends he forgot that there was basketvball practice just so he could go and practice the piano

yang jeongin

a centre

he’s pretty tall and the fact that he’d probably still growing blows everyone’s mind

everyone thought he was older just because of his demeanor

one time a player on the opposing team pushed jeongin down and everyone attacked that player

although they lost that game for bad sportsmanship it was worth it

no one messes with jeongin

him and seungmin and hyunjin practice all the time

he’s a mediocre player and looks up to hyunjin’s determination to get better

he sometimes forgets that his team is there for him during tough times

sometimes he’ll ask for help on his homework and someone will accidentally do it all for him

he asked chan for help on his algebra homework and chan couldn’t help him because he “didn’t do it the common core way back in the day”

so they have secret lessons after practice for an hour

eventually everyone finds out but they pretend they don’t know anything because they’re lowkey shipping them together they’re glad minho wants to learn for the team

BUT IT’S NOT BECAUSE HE’S SHORT!!!

he is very muscular and he’s so good at receiving the ball

even when the strongest balls are hurled at him his body barely moves

everyone makes fun of his height

he does like hitting but he knows he’s not going to help the team by being a hitter so he stays as a libero

he thinks he’s lucky because the libero uniform looks way better on him than the regular uniforms do

so it’s a win win situation

hwang hyunjin

we all know this boy is pretty tall compared to the rest of skz

so he’d be middle blocker (probably the only player that is their position because of his height)

his hits are so hard that the opposing team can’t process what’s going on

he looked so intimidating that everyone was scared to talk to him when he first joined the team

he’s pretty well known to other teams in the country

most teams that play against them talk about how scary hyunjin looks but after the game hyunjin apologizes to anyone he’s hurt or scared and everyone’s thrown off by how kind he is

works himself really hard because he doesn’t just wanna be known for his looks

han jisung

used to play as setter BUT now is an opposite hitter!!!

he’s actually really serious when playing volleyball compared to his energetic personality

he’s like a whole new person

other players are also thrown off by the way jisung plays because he seems to be very playful before the game

he doesn’t look too intimidating but then he plays and everyone get scared

many teams are scared of team skz

he’s been playing for a little while so he’s always trying to help his teammates when they’re struggling

most of the team looks up to jisung almost as much as woojin and chan

lee felix

the ace! right side hitter!

he’s still somewhat of a beginner but he has a natural talent for volleyball

when he first joined the team everyone was like “are you sure you’ve never played before?”

he’s so energetic when playing and sooo loud

he treated everyone like family from the beginning

gets really annoying when a game’s about to start because of all the anxiousness

his neighbor is coincidentally changbin so they walk to school and walk from school together

his favorite thing isn’t winning but it’s seeing all the special moves the other teams have so he can learn them and eventually use them against other teams

kim seungmin

setter

i feel like seungmin just goes with the flow and is really chiil when playing volleyball

the team really has to push him to be aggressive

when he finally comes around and wants to beat the other team he’s such a good player

he adapts to the opposite team’s playing strategy really quickly and uses this to his advantage by throwing off the other team

he’s somewhat lonely (being the team’s only setter) but jisung helps him a lot during practice

he gets really happy when he wins a point (setter dump) and the team’s so happy for him

he also adapts to his team’s players really well so everything flows smoothly on the court

yang jeongin

he’s played different positions before so his position changes depending on who they need where

but mainly he’s a back row player (switches out with libero)

he’s played since he was little so it’s weird being the youngest on the team and older players asking him for help

he hates when people other than him mess with his team

he transferred schools quite often so he knows and played for a lot of the teams they play against

one time he forgot what team he was playing for and went on the opposing team’s court

although he misses playing for other teams he wouldn’t want to go back because he’s learned so much from this team

being a prefect was your one and only wish. you worked hard for six years in order to have your wish come true, sacrificing sleep and food to make sure you were the top student. but the day never came. the owl never came with the letter saying that you were a ravenclaw prefect. and you started to think of every reason as to why. was it because you didn’t turn your mouse into a teacup in transfigurations? or was it that you were caught sneaking off to the library, when you should’ve been sleeping, to study for your O.W.L?

slowly you started to forget that september first was approaching, and when the owl with your supply list arrived, you wondered how the summer slipped between your fingers so suddenly. but, fixing your very messy appearance, you went to diagon alley to get your new books and such.

“hey! (name)!” you heard as you left Flourish and Blotts with your new seventh year books. you turned to see your crush friend, kim seungmin, approaching you with a bag from Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes.

“seungmin!” you give him a hug, taking in the familiar vanilla scent. “please don’t tell me that’s another box of Skiving Snackboxes.” you eye the bag, a nervous feeling settling in your stomach.

“of course not, those things are funny only the first few times.” seungmin says, smiling. “how’s your summer been? i haven’t heard from you all summer.”

“the summer flew by so fast, i didn’t get a chance to send an owl. plus, mum and dad have been using my owl all summer.” you try and peak into seungmin’s bag, wondering what he could’ve bought at Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes this year.

“well did you get the special owl?” seungmin asks, slowing down in front of knockturn alley and nudging you asking if you wanted to go.

“i’m not going down there with you ever again.” you say, steering him away from the dark and mysterious alley. “and i didn’t.”

“what?! you’re not a prefect?!” seungmin yells, making the surrounding shoppers look in your direction.

“shut up, will you?” you say, cheeks becoming warm from the stares. “i haven’t told anyone yet.”

“when we go back to hogwarts, i’m going to have a stern talking to with our professors.” seungmin says, wrapping his arm around you.

“it’s not that big of a deal.” you mumble, embarrassed. “i don’t want you to get into trouble on our first day back.”

“but you’re the smartest, most hardworking student at hogwarts i know! not to mention you’re nice to everyone including the bullies, and you always try your best to make everyone happy even if you’re not happy yourself. and you always tell all the other girls how pretty they are when you’re the prettiest of them all!” seungmin rambles, not noticing that you’re a blushing mess. “- and everyone likes you. oh especially that Potter kid. do you know how mad it makes me when he tries to make a move on you? (name)?”

being a coffee-holic, and a college student, you lived with at least four cups of coffee a day. at the minimum. you were so addicted to coffee, it was quite concerning. almost every barista within a ten mile radius from your college knew who you were, and knew about your unhealthy addcition. often times, you would go into cafes twice a day, being that you had a keurig at home.

but, that was until you met seo changbin.

the coffee at the cafe he worked at was mediocre, but the enviornment and the people there made it so worth wasting money on. you went there more often than any cafe, and you knew everyone that worked there. well, you thought everyone.

it was two in the morning when you walked into the cafe, a normal thing for you, and you were confused by the boy you saw behind the counter. you double checked the store, making sure you were in the right place, before walking up to the counter.

"i’ll take an iced americano.” you said after staring at the menu when you already knew your order.

"wow, something different?” you hear chan, your favorite barista say.

"i know, a first.” you laugh as you pay the new boy.

"you should work here so then you get the employee discount.” chan tells you as your order is being made.

"well, it looks like you’ve already got a newbie.” you say, eyeing the new boy.

"oh yeah, this is changbin. remember her, she’s a regular.” you wave at changbin, noticing the way his ears turn slightly red. “you’re awfully quiet today.”

“well, as much as I’d love to stay, I have a paper due in an hour.” you say, taking the coffee changbin hands you before taking off again.

every time you went into the cafe, changbin seemed to be the only person that was making drinks. whether it was two in the morning or five in the evening, he was the person that wound up making your drink.

so naturally, you soon became friends, him always listening to your crazy college stories as he made your iced americano or whatever you had ordered. you learned that he went to a different college about an hour away, studying to become a producer.

“our music program is one of the best in the state.” you say, trying to convince changbin to transfer to your college. “plus, we might have a random class together.”

“yeah, i doubt it. i’m not risking my life just to hope we have a class together.” changbin says, ignoring the small line by the counter. “you ordering something?”

“not right now. i’ve already had four cups, and it’s only noon. i came to see my favorite barista.” you say, smiling.

“chan? don’t you have class with him?” he asks.

“you’re so stupid sometimes.” you laugh, “i should go, you seem to be getting busy.”

“someone else can deal with it.” changbin says, “i’ll make you a drink. I feel bad that you came here and chan’s not even gonna talk to you.”

“i could never work here. i’d die from drinking so much coffee.” you say, laughing.

“i’m surprised you haven’t already. how many coffees do you drink a day?” he asks, handing you your drink.

“I think five or six.” you say, noticing something written on the cup.

if someone were to ask you to describe your and felix’s friendship, you would say it was quite bizzare.

it was freshman year, you two being in the same human geography class. it was a small class, only filled with 19 people, you sitting in the front and felix in the back. walking into that class on the first day, you never knew that you would leave with a best friend. felix asked you for a pencil and, unlike everyone else, you actually gave him one. next thing you knew, felix was asking you for a pencil everday.

“do you not have any pencils?” you asked him one day, fed up.

"oh no, i have plenty. i just like hearing you talk.” he said and you couldn’t ignore the way your heart skipped a beat.

the next time you saw him, he was trying to sitting next to you, everyone’s eyes on you two. you watched as everyone started to slowly mind their business, wishing he didn’t attract so much attention.

“what’re you doing?” you asked as he sat down, “i thought you sat with your friends.”

"are we not friends? i’m really hurt.” he said, putting a hand over his heart.

your cheeks started to hurt a little less now, growing used to all the smiling and laughing, as felix would crack stupid jokes. your heart, on the other hand, hurt more. you and felix were best friends. you couldn’t break what you had.

“you know, you didn’t have to punch him.” you tell felix, giving him an ice pack for his black eye.

“you didn’t hear what he said.” he says, sighing at the cold feeling on his face.

“let me see your eye.” you say.

“does it look bad?” felix asks, moving the ice pack.

“it’s pretty bad.” you mumble, pushing the ice pack back into his eye.

“he said you didn’t love me.” felix blurts, “he said you would never love me.”

“if i didn’t love you, i wouldn’t be sitting in your kitchen.” you say, smiling.

“is your favorite color still green?” he asks.

as much as you snuck out of your house, you wouldn’t be too surprised if your parents already knew. at first, it was just a once a week thing when you couldn’t sleep, or just wanted to take a walk. but then you met hwang hyunjin, typical bad boy, with tears in his eyes. it was probably something that you’d see out of the movies, but it wasn’t a movie. and often times, you would wonder if it had all been a dream.

"so. senior year.” you said to hyunjin as you walked around the neighborhood.

"yeah, well. what about you?” he watched the way the stars shone against your eyes, and wished school wasn’t going to start back up again.

"well, it’s exciting. but, sad. we only have another year together and then you’ll leave me.” you smile, thinking of what people would say if they found out who you were with right now.

"we both know i’m not going anywhere for a while. you’ll be the one leaving me.” and he can’t help but feel a twinge of pain in his heart.

"you never know, you could find some girl and leave me for her. you’ll probably even forget about me.” you mumble, hoping he didn’t hear your worried tone.

"don’t worry, i won’t leave without you.” he stops, realizing that he’d walked you home.

”yeah? good.” you said, failing to notice the way hyunjin smiled at your response.

you loved many things about hwang hyunjin. the thing you loved the most was probably his smile. you couldn’t put your finger on it, but there was something so genuine about his smile that anyone would love.when he flashed you a smile from across the room, you would get that fuzzy feeling in your chest that would stay there for hours, maybe even days, afterwards.

you met hyunjin through your mutual friends when you had decided to all meet up at the movies. you hated meeting new people, but something about hyunjin made you want to meet a thousand new people in an instant. you started always going out with your friends just to see him, and without even talking to him, your day was so much better.

honestly, you wanted to talk to hyunjin. maybe crack a joke and make him laugh, but just saying thank you to him made you a blushing mess. as stupid as it sounded, you were a girl too shy to talk to her crush. and it wasn’t even fear of rejection, but fear of making yourself sound like an idiot, that made you too nervous.

but, in this story, he didn’t like you back. not in the least bit. he barely even realized you would go hang out with the group all the time. it’s not like there was anything to remember you by. you never talked, never joked, barely laughed. you were pretty, but what’s a pretty girl without a personality? in other words, hyunjin was a jerk.

"what movie?” your friend, seungmin, asked you.

"ooh, i’ve really wanted to go see the farewell.” you said, not knowing everyone else was waiting for your response.

"isn’t that the sad one about the grandma dying?” another friend, felix, asked surprising you.

"do you not wanna cry?” you asked, smirking. “i know how much you cried watching dumbo.”

and then, you saw it from behind felix. hyunjin’s smile. and you were suddenly aware that everyone was watching, and laughing, at your interaction with felix. but was what you said really funny to him?

hyunjin, he thought that you were pretty funny. it was the first time he heard to speak loud enough for the group to hear, and he instantly regretted not talking to you sooner. but why was it all the sudden? he never cared what you thought of him, so why now? he looked over in your direction, and seeing the pink tinge on your face, there was no doubt that hyunjin had fallen for you.

"is it okay if you save our seats? we’ll grab the snacks.” seungmin says, dragging felix away, who was complaing about not being able to see the trailers.

"they’re gonna miss the good trailers.” you mumble, unaware of hyunjin listening.

“you’re always so quiet.” hyunjin says, as you find your seats.

"yeah? well, i know it may seem shocking but i’m more of a listener than a talker.” you tell him.

"would you believe me if i told you i was a jerk?” hyunjin asks, sitting next to you.

"no. if you were a jerk, you wouldn’t be our friend.” you say, trying your hardest to keep your cool.

"yeah, well, you haven’t seen the jerk part of me yet.” he smirks, and your eyes look everywhere but him.

"so, what make you a jerk then?” you ask, suddenly curious.

“there’s this girl,” he starts, leaning close to you. “i haven’t ever really realized how beautiful she was until today. it makes me wonder how blind i was.”

"that doesn’t mean you’re a jerk, hyunjin.” you’re so close, you can feel his breath against your lips. “maybe just a little blind.”

"yeah, maybe.”
