*We see the world fading in and out… various images, distorted half sentences. It's near impossible to make out.*
With a distinct ringing of the ears and a harsh click, John's face squints as a bright spotlight shines down on him from above.
John: ..hng… w-what the…?
*He takes a few moments to look around ( allowing his eyes to adjust to its surroundings ) before trying to lift one arm. He looks down and sees thick metal bars lined across his body. Memories rush back into his mind.*
John: .... oh....no … no, no lord , this can’t be real.
He tries to wriggle his way out, but nothing works. Amidst the struggle he notices his brothers also kept in a similar state to him. Despite his disposition he tries to remain as calm as possible to check on them all*
John: Clint..? Bobby…? Cooper ?? Guys!
While the other two still seemed out of consciousness, Clint is the second to wake up , his eyes darted to Johns voice before letting out a growl in confusion and anger as he looked around .
Clint: What the hell-!? What is this!?
John: wait a minute … I’m just as lost as you-
*Cooper would soon come to and immediately started to panic*
Cooper : Guys?! What’s- what’s happening what’s going on?!
John: cooper! Hold on, everyone lets just-.
Cooper: Mmm....? Nn?! * he tries desperately to fight his restraints ; though in vain and he was slowly breaking down*
*With all the commotion growing,Bobby was finally awake and his response was as expected *
Bobby: uuuuhhh-what is happening-!?
Clint: How in the hell should I know!?
Cooper: Guys… I can’t … I can’t breathe. * cooper tries to ease his breathing but it’s stiff and shaky *
John: please for heaven’s sake , Everyone calm down....* he’s trying his best to stay calm but the situation wasn’t exactly ideal*
Bobby: Calm down!? We're strapped down in nothing but briefs like a bunch of lab rats or something!
Clint : You’re not exactly helping either!!
*John looks up, it's hard to see past the bright shining lights, but he could finally spot silhouettes of people standing in an observation deck above them.*
John: ( is that..?)!* he notices the familiar figure of the doctor and goes irate*Paradigm! What is this!? You bastard!Paradigm!!
*He continues to call out at him, but nothing is heard as Paradigm grins from the light. The figures behind remain in shadow.*
???: They don't seem aware or the treatment. I assume those "volunteers" you spoke of aren't here?
Paradigm: I may have exaggerated their willingness to participate. An unfortunate necessity... and I'm sure you won't mind pulling a few strings to ensure that it remains unknown?
???: You're asking for quite a bit from us, Paradigm, and we are already paying a fortune for your research.
Paradigm: I'm open to discounts. Besides, this is state of the art genetics... I think as soon as you see what my research is capable of, you'll change your tune.
???: it had better be something beyond compare, otherwise, you're dealing with the fallout yourself!
Paradigm: *ahem* …Begin injection.
Lab assistant: understood * they activate the control panel*
*Mechanical arms with massive needles lower towards the four young men.*
Cooper: Nnng! Needles! * he begins shaking his head forcefully, tears now running down his cheeks*
Bobby: Ohmygodohmygodohmygod-!
Clint:GET THIS SHIT OFF MY FACE YOU MOTHER-
John: Paradigm! I don't know what you've done, but don't think for a second you'll be able to hide from-!
*The needles imaple them all. All four cry out as they're injected.*
???: No painkillers?
Paradigm: My budget was stretched thin.... was deemed unecessary. * there’s a hint of smirk as he turns back to the scene unfolding below them with morbid satisfaction*
*With the injections complete, all four brothers are lying on the table exhausted.*
Cooper: ..... o-ow.
Clint: Anyone dead....? * he’s groaning *
John: I don't know.... what is....?
Bobby: …!I don’t … feel so good all of a sudden -ACK..!
John: BOBBY!!
*A loud sickening crack rings out as Bobby convulses. His body has begun to spread, his bones popping loudly. Before long, it spreads to the others*
*Paradigm grins and turns to the figures in the observation deck, all silent by what they're seeing.*
Paradigm: Weeks or months of subtle change... happens in mere minutes now.... ladies and gentlemen: I give you the future of genetics.
*As he raises his arms theatrically, we can still hear the popping and screaming of the Boltons below him. It's music to his ears.*
What were once 4 healthy men now became gene -altered shark mutants varying from species.
Paradigm: A great white shark , Hammerhead shark, tiger shark , and a whale shark . Powerful,strong, vicious…, now image a soldier !my vision for the future of genetics!
???: this is insane…
???: Insane , but rather intriguing… look at them they’re massive now !
*one of the figures draws closer to watch as the transformation completes*
???: I definitely know a few countries who’d pay a pretty penny for these freaks … tell me doctor are you planning on making more ?
Paradigm : as a matter of fact I do… I’ve already perfected a few other specimens , I simply wanted to show you your moneys worth ~
Lab assistant : doctor ! Table 2 is experiencing severe tension !
* just as they were alerted, the creature that was once Clint ripped the metal bars off the hinges and was violently throwing a fit in the operating room. The other shark beast were now riled and roaring.
???: Good lord! How strong are they !?
???: Do something doctor !
Paradigm: * he sighs ,not at all phased by this * calm yourselves , everything is under control, begin sedation.
* several guards enter the operating room , armed and aimed at the irate hammerhead, he couldn’t even pounce before several needles imbedded into his skin and he fell down cold. Soon the other three who were still restrained were also sedated before being taken away to confinement . *
???: and I assume the good doctor has a way to keep these beast in control ?
Paradigm: but of course! Fear not ladies and gentlemen , allow me to press my next proposal….
* we see the boys taken away , there seemed to be no remnants of who they once were… black vacant eyes drugged and heavy …but something was watching them … *
